BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to an inexpensive cardboard caddy useful to home owners and professional painters to store and move their paint pans, cans and tools.
2. Description of the Prior Art
An object of this invention is a combination paint pan holder, paint can holder and paint tool/hardware storage device.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION1. This invention relates to an inexpensive cardboard caddy useful to home owners and professional painters to store and move their paint pans, cans and tools. The paint pan caddy holds any size paint pan and allows the consumer to move from one work area to another without bending or stooping over. Users can easily drag the paint pan caddy to any desired area within their workspace by simply hooking their paint roller onto any inside corner. The caddy cannot only be easily maneuvered, but it also provides the consumer with a place to lay down wet paint brushes. In addition, the paint pan caddy prevents unwanted spillage and functions as a secondary drop cloth with added space for extra items such as a tape measure, hammer, rags, etc.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING1. The figures in the drawings are briefly described as follows:
FIG. 1a is an exploded view showing the overall dimensions and assembly tab cuts.
FIG. 2a is a side profile of the caddy revealing inside and outside dimensions.
FIG. 3a is a top view showing square dimensions for inside and outside.
FIG. 4a is a bottom view showing square dimensions for the outside.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT1. Referring particularly to FIG. 1a, the paint pan caddy comprises a single sheet of cardboard that is die-cut and folded into a square hollow form. Corner panels are tab cut into folding wings that interlock with the fold over side panel for added structural support.
2. In FIG. 2a the unit is square in shape and has four solid walls that are formed as the caddy is folded into the upright position. Each end wall is comprised of a double fold over and tabbed corner wings that add extra support to the dragging corner areas.
3. As shown in FIG. 3a, the top over view of the paint pan caddy and its hollow center. The hollow center is sufficiently open to contain a large paint pan and a couple of pan cansโas well as painting supplies.
1. A paint pan caddy:
(a) a die-cut and pre-folded cardboard unit having four side walls extend vertically from the perimeter of the floor when folded in the upright position. Each of the four corners consists of a tabbed and winged fold structure to add structural support for corner grabbing.
