BACKGROUND

On most weekends, all over the United States, one can observe well dressed, real estate agents carrying A-boards, for example, from their cars to an appropriate location advertising an open house. These same boards are returned to the car wet and dirt by said real estate agents.

Because the boards can be heavy, they are difficult to load into the trunk of a car. Consequently, said well dressed real estate agents become dirty and cars become damage. Said signs are also hauled from the car trunk to a home garage or office where they are stored in a haphazard manner.

Des. 300,986 (May 9, 1989); Williams, U.S. Pat. Des. 294,307 (Feb. 23, 1988); Castle, U.S. Pat. No. 4,765,381 (Aug. 23, 1988); Valento, U.S. Pat. Des. 292,995 (Dec. 1, 2987). However, each of these references suffers from one or more of the following disadvantages:

(1) dividers make it difficult to load signs;

(2) does not allow wet or muddy sign to dry;

(3) does not provide protection to the car while loading signs into trunk of car;

(4) does not provide an apparatus to easily store and carry signs.

The object of the Board Bag is to provide a storage and transportation device, for a plurality of A-boards or other types of marketing signs, that a realtor or other professional, needs to transport from one location to another. When opened in a car trunk, the Board Bag protects the car from damage by providing a barrier between the car and the boards. The Board Bag is also fitted with a drainage panel to allow wet boards to dry. Furthermore, there is no need to unpack the boards from the Board Bag. The boards can be moved from car to home or office using the Board Bag's handle which equalizes the load.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Board Bag provides persons, such as real estate agents, with a storage and transportation device for A-boards and other marketing type boards.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, The Board Bag is an apparatus that comprises a container 10. The container has a back side 20, a top side 30, a bottom side 40, and opposing lateral sides joined together to form an enclosure with an open side and a cover 50.

Referring to FIG. 2, the cover 50 closes the open side of the container and is independently openable and closable. The cover 50 can be either an extension of the back side 20 or can be a permanent attachment to the back side 20.

Also referring to FIG. 2, the Board Bag has a plurality of handles for lifting. In the preferred embodiment at least one handle 60 is affixed to the back side 20 and at least one handle 70 is attached to the cover 50. The handles 60,70 are located so that the weight is balanced when the Board Bag is lifted. Also, in the preferred embodiment, the Board Bag is equipped with a shoulder strap 80. The preferred embodiment also has a handle 90 on the opposite lateral side of the back side 20 so that the invention can be easily pulled out of the trunk of a car.

Referring to FIG. 3, when using the Board Bag inside the trunk opening of a car the back side 30 is placed in the trunk so that when the Board Bag is opened the cover 50 will lie over the bottom portion of the trunk. The bottom side 40 comprises a grill or web-type fabric 100.
