However, the standard bath chair 1 is only used for ordinary people and is not available for people with a larger body figure or size. In addition, the standard bath chair 1 has a fixed construction and cannot be assembled or disassembled easily and quickly. A conventional widened bath chair 2 in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 2 is available for people with a larger body figure or size. However, the widened bath chair 2 has a fixed construction and cannot be assembled or disassembled easily and quickly. Besides, the conventional standard bath chair 1 and the conventional widened bath chair 2 are available for different people with different requirements, so that the manufacturer has to develop at least two sets of molds and two sets of warehousing space, thereby increasing the cost of fabrication, and thereby increasing the inventory pressure. In addition, a nursing agency or institution, such as nursing home, care center or the like, has to prepare the standard bath chair 1 and the widened bath chair 2 of different types, thereby increasing the expense of purchase, increasing the space of storage, and increasing the cost of maintenance.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an extendable bath chair assembly decreasing the cost of fabrication, lowering the expense of purchase, and reducing the space of storage.
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an extendable bath chair assembly comprising a primary chair and a secondary chair. The primary chair includes a primary seat, four primary legs, a primary backrest, two socket modules, and two armrests. The four primary legs are connected with four corners of a bottom of the primary seat. The primary backrest is connected with a back side of the primary seat. Each of the two socket modules includes two sockets. Each of the two sockets of each of the two socket modules is connected with and secured on an outside of one of the four primary legs and has an insertion hole directed upward. Each of the two armrests has two ends each of which is detachably inserted into the insertion hole of one of the two sockets of one of the two socket modules. The secondary chair includes a secondary seat, two secondary legs, and two insert pillars. The two secondary legs are connected with two corners of a first side of a bottom of the secondary seat. The two insert pillars are connected with two corners of a second side of the bottom of the secondary seat. When one of the two armrests is detached from one of the two socket modules, each of the two insert pillars is detachably inserted into the insertion hole of one of the two sockets of one of the two socket modules, so that the secondary chair is combined with the primary chair.
Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

Referring to FIGS. 3-7, an extendable bath chair assembly 100 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a primary chair 10 and a secondary chair (or extending side chair) 20.
The primary chair 10 includes a primary seat 11, four (or multiple) primary legs 12, a primary backrest 13, two socket modules 14, and two armrests (or arm rails) 15. The four primary legs 12 are connected with four corners of a bottom of the primary seat 11 and are supported on the ground steadily. The primary backrest 13 is connected with a back side of the primary seat 11 to support the user's back. Each of the two socket modules 14 includes two sockets 141. Each of the two sockets 141 of each of the two socket modules 14 is connected with and secured on an outside of one of the four primary legs 12 and has an insertion hole 142 directed upward and extending axially. Each of the two armrests 15 has two ends each of which is detachably inserted into the insertion hole 142 of one of the two sockets 141 of one of the two socket modules 14. The user's hands hold the two armrests 15.
The secondary chair 20 includes a secondary seat 21, two secondary legs 22, and two insert pillars 23. The two secondary legs 22 are connected with two corners of a first side of a bottom of the secondary seat 21. The two insert pillars 23 are connected with two corners of a second side of the bottom of the secondary seat 21.
When one of the two armrests 15 is detached from one of the two socket modules 14, each of the two insert pillars 23 is detachably inserted into the insertion hole 142 of one of the two sockets 141 of one of the two socket modules 14, so that the secondary chair 20 is combined with the primary chair 10, and the secondary seat 21 is juxtaposed to the primary seat 11 to construct a larger sitting area.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the primary seat 11 is made of waterproof material and has multiple ventilating water drain holes.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the two sockets 141 is provided with a positioning hole 143 extending radially and connected to the insertion hole 142, and each of the two ends of each of the two armrests 15 has a side face provided with an elastic member 151 inserted into and releasably locked in the positioning hole 143 when each of the two ends of each of the two armrests 15 is inserted into the insertion hole 142 of one of the two sockets 141 of one of the two socket modules 14, to prevent each of the two armrests 15 from being detached from one of the two sockets 141.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the secondary seat 21 is made of waterproof material and has multiple ventilating water drain holes.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the two insert pillars 23 has a side face provided with an elastic member 24 inserted into and releasably locked in the positioning hole 143 when each of the two insert pillars 23 is inserted into the insertion hole 142 of one of the two sockets 141 of one of the two socket modules 14.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the two armrests 15 is a bending tube.
In assembly, referring to FIG. 4 with reference to FIG. 3, each of the two ends of each of the two armrests 15 is inserted into the insertion hole 142 of one of the two sockets 141 of one of the two socket modules 14, so that the two armrests 15 are mounted on the four primary legs 12. Thus, the extendable bath chair assembly 100 is available for a user with a standard body shape and size.
Alternatively, referring to FIGS. 5-7 with reference to FIG. 3, the elastic member 151 of one of the two armrests 15 is pressed and detached from the positioning hole 143, so that one of the two armrests 15 is pulled and detached from one of the two socket modules 14. Then, each of the two insert pillars 23 of the secondary chair 20 is inserted into the insertion hole 142 of one of the two sockets 141 of one of the two socket modules 14, and the elastic member 24 of each of the two insert pillars 23 is inserted into and locked in the positioning hole 143, so that the secondary chair 20 is combined with the primary chair 10. Thus, the secondary seat 21 is juxtaposed to the primary seat 11 to expand the sitting area, so that the extendable bath chair assembly 100 is extended and available for a user with a larger body shape (or figure) and size.
Accordingly, one of the two armrests 15 and the secondary chair 20 are selectively combined with the primary chair 10, so that the extendable bath chair assembly 100 has an adjustable width and is switched between a standard width and an enlarged width and is available for users with a standard size and a larger size, thereby enhancing the versatility of the extendable bath chair assembly 100. In addition, the manufacturer only needs to produce a mold to satisfy the requirement of users of two different sizes, without having to prepare two molds, thereby decreasing the cost of fabrication, and reducing the inventory pressure. Further, the consumer only needs to buy the extendable bath chair assembly 100 without having to purchase bath chairs of two different types, thereby decreasing the expense of purchase, reducing the space of storage, and decreasing the cost of maintenance. Further, the two armrests 15 and the secondary chair 20 are mounted on and detached from the primary chair 10 easily and quickly, thereby facilitating the user assembling and disassembling the extendable bath chair assembly 100.
