Patent Classification

The Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) is a hierarchical and internationally compatible classification system used for organizing patent documents and other technical literature. It is jointly managed by the European Patent Office (EPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The system is based on the International Patent Classification (IPC) and enhances it with more detailed subdivisions and symbols.
