BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In most bathrooms, the hooks and rods of shower curtains are visible. Many of these hooks and rods are unsightly. The present invention features a concealing system for shower curtain rods to help hide the unsightly hooks and rods in the bathroom. The system of the present invention can also help improves the aesthetic appearance of bathrooms.

Any feature or combination of features described herein are included within the scope of the present invention provided that the features included in any such combination are not mutually inconsistent as will be apparent from the context, this specification, and the knowledge of one of ordinary skill in the art. Additional advantages and aspects of the present invention are apparent in the following detailed description and claims.

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring now to FIG. 1-5, the present invention features a concealing system (100) for shower curtain rods to help hide the unsightly hooks and rods in the bathroom. The system of the present invention can also help improves the aesthetic appearance of bathrooms. The present invention also features a bathroom system (200) comprising a shower (or bathtub compartment) and the concealing system (100).

For example, as shown in FIG. 5, the present invention features a bathroom system (200) comprising a shower compartment (300) having a first wall (301a) and an opposing second wall (301b). Such shower compartments are well known to one of ordinary skill in the art. The system (200) further comprises one or both of a shower or a bathtub disposed between the walls (301). A shower curtain rod (302) is sandwiched between the first wall (301a) and the second wall (301b) in a standard manner.

The concealing system (100) of the present invention helps to hide shower curtain rod (302) as shown in FIG. 5. As shown in FIG. 1-4, the concealing system (100) comprises a sheet (110) having a first end (111), a second end (112) opposite the first end (111), a third end (113), and a fourth end (114). The sheet (110) may be constructed from a variety of materials including but not limited to cotton, linen, satin, suede, wool, the like, or a combination thereof. The sheet (110) may be constructed in a variety of styles and designs as desired.

A first hollow channel (120a) is disposed along at least a portion of the first end (111) of the sheet (110), and a second hollow channel (120b) is disposed along at least a portion of the second end (112) of the sheet (110). The channels (120) run parallel to each other and are spaced a distance apart (e.g., between about 3 to 6 inches, between about 6 to 12 inches, at least 12 inches, etc.).

A first concealing rod (101a) is disposed in the first hollow channel (120a). The first concealing rod (101a) extends past the first end and the second end of the first hollow channel (120a). A second concealing rod (101b) is disposed in the second hollow channel (120b) and extends past the first end and the second end of the second hollow channel (120b). In some embodiments, the concealing rods (101) are extension rods.

In some embodiments, the first hollow channel (120a) and the second hollow channel (120b) both extend past both the third side edge (113) and the fourth side edge (114) of the sheet (110).

The concealing rods (101) are spaced a distance apart. In some embodiments, the distance is between about 3 to 6 inches. In some embodiments, the distance is between about 6 to 12 inches. In some embodiments, the distance is at least about 12 inches.

In some embodiments, gripping components are disposed on the outer ends of the concealing rods (101). Gripping components, e.g., rubber grippers, are well known to one of ordinary skill in the art. The gripping component is not limited to rubber.

As shown in FIG. 5, the concealing rods (101) are sandwiched between the walls (301) of the shower compartment (200) and are positioned such that the sheet (110) covers the shower curtain rod (302) and conceals it from view.

In some embodiments, a first line of stitching (130a) is disposed at an intersection of the first hollow channel (120a) and the first end (111) of the sheet (110). The first line of stitching (130a) may run the length of the first hollow channel (120a). In some embodiments, a second line of stitching (130b) is disposed at an intersection of the second hollow channel (120b) and the second end (112) of the sheet (110). The second line of stitching (130b) may run a length of the second hollow channel (120b). In some embodiments, a third line of stitching (130c) extends from the first hollow channel (120a) to the second hollow channel (120b) at or near the third side edge (113) of the sheet (110). In some embodiments, a fourth line of stitching (130d) extending from the first hollow channel (120a) to the second hollow channel (120b) at or near the fourth side edge (114) of the sheet. The lines of stitching (130) may help ensure that the sheet (110) maintains shape and security with respect to the hollow channels (120).

As used herein, the term “about” refers to plus or minus 10% of the referenced number.
