A process for removing the cloudy yellowish tint from automotive headlamps, which will improve the transparency, optical quality and appearance. More specifically, the process will restore a plastic headlamp which has become so cloudy that the transparency and optical quality will be restored to an appearance which may be close to if not equal to, a new article. The process imparts other desirable qualities to the processed article that will become more evident in the attached specification and claims. The process is portable so that the aforementioned improvements in the plastic article may be effected in place; in other words, it is not necessary to remove the article from the vehicle or building to process it.

Machines or devices designed for grinding plane surfaces on work, including polishing plane glass surfaces; Accessories therefor characterised by a special design with respect to properties of the material of non-metallic articles to be ground for grinding plastics
On vehicles five or more years old; the headlights become damaged from sun and weather elements. A yellowish tint forms making headlight dimmed and or impairing the lights intensity making the vision of the driver blemished or unclear. The hard plastics composition changes making the vehicle visually undesirably blemished and impairs the vision of the driver by not producing a clear see through illumination for light to pass through. This process removes the sun's ultraviolet rays damaged portion of the plastic headlight; resurfaces the light and then polishes the headlamp improving the range of clarity by thirty to ninety five percent; thus restoring a safety margin for night vision.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONProcess clarifying headlamp-(Step 1) wet sanding with two hundred forty grit sandpaper two to five minutes, cutting away yellow damaged plastic surface. (Step 2) The use of a four hundred grit two to five minutes to refine plastic surface by removal of previous sun damaged material. (Step 3) Then by using a one thousand grit two to five minutes, roughing up plastic in preparation for buffing. Then using a rubbing clay and buffing headlamp with a special pad, until shiny.
1. A process for removing the cloudy yellowish tint from automotive headlamps, which will improve the transparency, optical quality and appearance by sanding and polishing using a mild abrasive to a surface to be treated; polishing the surface with a soft material.
The process of claim 1 that includes the further step of the sanding process, removing exposed layer of plastic revealing un-buffed portion of headlamp.
2. The process of claim 1 that includes the further step of the sanding process roughing up plastic.
3. The process of claim 1 that includes the further step of the final sanding which prepares the headlamp for buffing.
4. The process of claim 1 that includes the step of buffing the headlight between 900 to 1300 rpms.
