1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a footrest of a chair, more particularly one, which is fastened to, and can be easily removed from, plural support legs of a chair.
2. Brief Description of the Prior Art
Various kinds of chairs are available, on which people can be comfortably seated while writing, resting or working.
Conventional office chairs include a seat, a support rod secured to a lower side of the seat, several radial support legs connected to a lower end of the support rod, and casters connected to the radial support legs. Therefore, the office chairs are mobile.
However, because the above-mentioned office chairs aren't equipped with a footrest, the sitters can only rest their feet on the radial support legs. Consequently, the sitters first have to adjust the orientation of the radial support legs of the chairs such that they can rest their feet on the support legs, causing inconvenience. Furthermore, the sitters aren't allowed to adjust their legs to any desired position when their feet rest on the radial support legs of the chairs. Consequently, the sitters are prone to get uncomfortable and tired.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIt is a main object of the invention to provide a footrest to an office chair to overcome the above-mentioned problem. The footrest of the present invention includes a foot supporting part, and several fastening elements securely joined to a lower side of the foot supporting part. Each of the fastening elements has two opposing lateral portions each having an inwardly-protruding portion. The footrest is fastened to a chair, which has several support legs at a lower end, with the fastening elements being passed onto respective ones of the support legs of the chair, and with the inwardly-protruding portions of the fastening elements being hooked over the support legs. Thus, when one person is seated on the chair, he is allowed to rest his feet on the foot supporting part with his legs in a comfortable position.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGSThe present invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
FIG. 1 is a partial exploded perspective view of the first preferred embodiment of a chair footrest in the present invention,
FIG. 2 is a partial front view of the chair in the present invention,
FIG. 3 is a partial section of the chair in the present invention,
FIG. 4 is another partial section of the chair in the invention,
FIG. 5 is a partial perspective view of the chair in the invention,
FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the second preferred embodiment of a chair footrest, and
FIG. 7 is a partial section of the second embodiment on a chair.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTSReferring to FIGS. 1, and 2, a first preferred embodiment 2 of a footrest includes a foot supporting part 21, and several fastening elements 22. The footrest 2 is fastened to a chair, which has several radial support legs 1 at a lower end thereof.
The foot supporting part 21 is a loop-shaped round rod, and has several threaded holes 211 spaced apart on a lower side thereof. Each of the fastening elements 22 has a threaded hole 221 on a top thereof, and two opposing lateral portions each having an inwardly-protruding portion 222.
In assembly, the fastening elements 22 are secured to the foot supporting part 21, under respective ones of the threaded holes 211, by means of threaded fixing elements 23, which are passed through respective ones of the threaded holes 221, and the corresponding threaded holes 211. Then, the footrest 2 is fastened to the radial support legs 1 of the chair with the fastening elements 22 being passed onto respective ones of the radial support legs 1, and the inwardly-protruding portions 222 being hooked over the radial support legs 1, as shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 5.
Thus, the foot supporting part 21 surrounds the support legs 1 of the chair, and one person can rest his/her feet on the foot supporting part 21 in any comfortable position when seated on the chair.
Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, a second preferred embodiment 2 of a footrest is provided. A foot supporting part 21 of the footrest 2 is a semi-curved plate. The foot supporting part 21 has several threaded holes 211 spaced apart on a lower side thereof. And, fastening elements 22 are provided, each of which has a threaded hole 221 on a top thereof, and two opposing lateral portions each having an inwardly-protruding portion 222. The fastening elements 22 are secured to the foot supporting part 21, under respective ones of the threaded holes 211, by means of threaded fixing elements 231. And, the fastening elements 22 are passed onto respective ones of the radial support legs 1 of the chair with the inwardly-protruding portions 222 being hooked over the radial support legs 1. Thus, a sitter on the chair can rest his/her feet on the foot supporting part 21 in any comfortable position.
From the above description, it can be easily seen that the chair with the footrest of the present invention is more ergonomically ideal and comfortable to sit on than the conventional chair. And, when one person is seated on the chair, writing, resting or working, he is allowed to rest his feet on the footrest, and adjust his legs to any comfortable position.
