My invention; a two piece brassiere; is a brassiere that utilizes two separate cups; a left and a right, consisting of different cup sizes, but not limited to, different size cups; that make up the complete brassiere assembly. The brassiere assembly includes two fasteners; one located in the back, and second fastener located in the front as well; thereby allowing a mix-match scenario using the individual cups. Cups can be manufactured in ¼, ⅓, ½, ⅔ or ¾ cup sizes, of each related letter cup sizes of A, B, C, D etc.; whereby a multitude of sizes can be used to insure proper fit.

Brassieres with front closures
My invention pertains to the women's undergarment field; more specifically the brassiere.
Nearly 70 percent of women, of post puberty age, in the world have breasts that are of dissimilar size. Prior attempts, by brassiere manufacturers to produce a brassiere that fits women properly, and at the same time providing an attractive appearance, has been poor at best.
Prior art has shown that this problem has not been widely addressed to the degree that my idea does. Nearly 70% of women simply do not have a choice commercially to purchase a brassiere that fits properly. Purchasing custom sewn and/or fitted brassiere's are their one alternative to this situation, but expensive and time consuming.
My invention will provide an alternate solution to this problem that women encounter on a daily basis, and at the same time being a cost effective and viable solution for high volume production/manufacture.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONMy invention, two piece brassiere, is a viable and cost effective solution for the 70% of post puberty age women, who on a daily basis encounter the problems associated with an ill-fitting brassiere, due to a change in breast size(s), due to lactation, diet, exercise, or other phenomenon.
A two piece brassiere can be utilized, by using interchangeable cup sizes, to compensate for the resultant dissimilarities, while still providing full breast support internally, and geometric symmetry externally, thereby enhancing appearance, when viewed externally, and achieving the desired results of this present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGReferring to Figures I, II, and III, the torso #1 of a woman is shown in Figure I, displaying overt dissimilarity in breast size and shape, the left breast #2, appearing much larger than the right breast #3, a common and notorious phenomenon. This anatomical dissimilarity is, however, not limited to the configuration exhibited in Figure I, but may, in fact occur oppositely.
Figure II shows the two-piece brassiere #4 and it's associated breast support cups #5 and #6, it's associated horizontal straps #7, their associated fastener means #8, and over-the-shoulder-type straps #9. While the drawing displays an over-the-shoulder-type strap configuration, it must be duly noted that the present invention possesses the ability to be manufactured in a ‘strapless’ configuration also.
Figure III shows a cross-sectional view of the invention #4 with breasts #2 and #3 and the torso #1 engaged. Brassiere cups #5 and #6 are shown symmetrical and identical on their exterior, yet are manufactured in a dissimilar manner on their interiors to compensate for the anatomical dissimilarities between left breast #2 and right breast #3 as exhibited in Figure I, thereby providing full and equal support of breasts #2 and #3.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates, in general, to women's brassieres, and more specifically to a two-piece brassiere assembly in which each half of the complete brassiere assembly is combined with it's complementary other half of the complete brassiere assembly, to form the present invention.
Prior art addresses the support of a pair associated woman's breasts assuming that each pair of a pair of woman's breasts is identical to it's associated other breast in size and shape. It is common, open, and notorious knowledge that very few women possess identical size breasts, therefore rendering prior art ill-fitting to at least one of the pair of associated breasts, or possibly a compromise in fit to each pair of a pair of associated breasts, rendering the prior art uncomfortable, and in many cases, unattractive to it's user or wearer.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a two-piece brassiere assembly each half of which is complementary to it's associated other half in design and structure.
It is further an object of the present invention to provide a two-piece brassiere assembly in which the external dimensions and contours provide anatomical and geometric symmetry while also providing for the aforementioned asymmetry associated with a pair of women's breasts through the use of additional padding or filling means, the addition of strategically-placed fabric, or similar associated breasts regardless of inherent anatomical dissimilarities.
It is further an object of the present invention to provide a two-piece brassiere assembly which will support a pair of women's breasts equally and comfortably while providing an appearance of anatomical symmetry when viewed externally.
1. A two-piece brassiere consisting of two ‘half-brassieres, each which is manufactured independently of the other, yet connected at the front and rear to form a complete brassiere assembly by means of suitable hooks, fasteners, or other suitable means; and
said brassiere containing within it's structure, breast ‘cups’, or supports which are identical, or can be dissimilar internally, depending upon needs of the user, in shape, size and configuration, while still maintaining identical symmetry externally; and
said brassiere containing within it's structure, breast ‘cups’, or supports, which are ‘paired’ in such a way as to provide, by means of padding, filler, or other suitable means, full support of each of a pair of breasts, despite the dissimilarity in their inherent anatomical configuration; and
said brassiere possessing the ability to be manufactured in many configurations e.g. athletic/sports, over-the-shoulder-strap-type, ‘strapless’, bikini swimwear, lingerie, and any and all configurations where upon the utilization of a brassiere is desired.
