This application relates to and claims priority from U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. US60/835,244 filed on Aug. 4, 2006, specifications which are incorporated herein by reference.

The invention herein described relates to the firearm industry. It provides for and describes an improved carrying device or holster which is worn between the waistband of the user's pants, shorts, or skirt and the user's body or undergarment. This type of holster is called an “inside the waistband” holster and for the purposes of this application will be referred to as an “IWB holster”. The present invention will be referred to as “Holster Grip”.
For anyone carrying a concealed handgun, whether in Law Enforcement or a private citizen with a concealed carry permit, the IWB holster provides a high degree of concealment as well as a secure carrying position. However, the problems that arise while using the IWB holsters currently on the market make it difficult to use while, at the same time, making it's presence obvious while the user makes the necessary adjustments to correct these problems.
While wearing an IWB holster and performing normal daily activities such as walking sitting or bending, the user's pants, shorts, or skirt tend to slide down on the body requiring frequent readjustment. This readjustment then causes the user's shirt or blouse to bunch or gather above the IWB holster in such a way that it makes drawing and/or re-holstering the gun difficult. The act of readjusting the IWB holster and the user's clothing is a telltale sign that a concealed weapon may be present.
The invention “Holster Grip” eliminates the aforementioned problems by providing for a “friction causing” or “otherwise adhering surface” on the back or “body side” of the IWB holster which will prevent the holster from slipping down or sliding against the user's undergarment or body eliminating the need to readjust the clothing.

In accordance with the present invention, Holster Grip comprises a inside the waistband (IWB) holster with a “friction causing” or “otherwise adhering surface” manufactured into, added to, or manufactured for the purpose of adding to, the back or “body side” of said holster for the purpose of preventing the holster from slipping down or sliding against the user's undergarment or body eliminating the need to readjust the clothing and/or holster.

1. I claim a inside the waistband (IWB) style holster with a friction causing or otherwise adhering surface located on the back or “body contact side” of said holster
A.) As relates to claim 1, a friction causing or otherwise adhering surface located on the back or “body contact side” of said holster which is designed into and manufactured as an integral part of a IWB holster.
B.) As relates to claim 1, a friction causing or otherwise adhering surface which is manufactured seperately and then attached to the back or “body contact side” of said holster.
C.) As relates to claim 1, a friction causing or otherwise adhering surface which is manufactured and marketed as a product specifically designed to be applied as an “aftermarket addition” to a IWB holster.
