Abstract:

The invention called the Manetamer the ponytail holding device made for men, and used by everyone. I invented this product as the easiest way to put my hair in a ponytail without damaging my hair. It is made up of two basic parts, the first is a thin flat steel core that can be bent in a shape and keeps that shape until unbent, and the second part is a covering of the inner core material, this covering can be made of many flexible materials such as a fabrics can be sewed or glue with fabric glue around inner core, apply a rubber-based products. To use the Manetamer just hold one end of the Manetamer to your hair then roll/bend around your hair and back over the Manetamer forming a ring, locking hair in a ponytail.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

I invented the Manetamer out of necessity; I was repairing a waterline located under a house in a tight spot. I had to cut out a piece of damaged copper pipe and sweat in a new piece. My hair is long and I didn't want to get full of spider webs or get it caught on fire with the torch. I needed to put my hair up and out of harms way. I went shopping for the solution and found none. There are many ponytail holders out there in four basic principal types first is the barrette style, second is of the elastic band type, the third is a hair pin type and the four is the act of tying. So I invented a new product the Manetamer distinct from all type and style of hair holding device. Here is how to use the Manetamer, take the hair you want in a ponytail with one hand, along side of that hand closest to the scalp, place the starting end of the Manetamer with other hand, press the starting end of the Manetamer to hair with your thumb to hold in place and with your finger roll/bend the Manetamer around your hair until it meets the starting end of the Manetamer, release the hand holding hair and push the finishing end over the starting end removing thumb at the same time, the Manetamer making a locked ring around the hair.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Manetamer is simply a ponytail holder that you just roll around your hair. The inner workings are a material that can be bent and it stay in that shape until you unbend it. I used 28 gauged-galvanized steel but there are a lot of materials that do the same function, I cut into thin strips and in lengths. I covered the metal in a fabric concealing it and protect the hair from the thin edge. This cover can be out of any different products. I use rubber base product fabrics and precious metals.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention is a device for holding hair in what is universally acknowledged as a ponytail. I use 28 gauge (0.014″) galvanized steel found at any lumberyard known as roof flashing cut in a 0.4375″ wide strip and 3.25″ lengths. The protective cover is pre washed cotton fabric cut in a strip 1.25″ wide by 3.50″ long, and flexible stretchable fabric glue The metal is placed on top of the fabric off set of center then a bead of flexible stretchable fabric glue is applied on the perimeter of the pre washed cotton fabric then the fabric is folded over metal meeting fabric's other glued edge then pressure is applied to perimeter of fabric in the purpose for the fabric to absorb the fabric glue for the prevention of the fabrics future fraying, expelling exes of glue and to inspect placement of metal making sure it is sandwiched equally inside folded fabric. Let glue dry according to fabric glue speciation then trim the 3-glued edges of fabric to the final dimensions of 0.5625″ by 3.375″. This invention comes in different length for different hair thicknesses also in different metals and coverings but the devices purpose when put in a shape it remains in that shape until taken out of that shape with an outer protective cover that assist in the action of rolling/bending device around hair and forming a locked ring.

Claims

1. I, Marc Eric Keesy to the best of my knowledge am the original and first inventor of the invention known as the Manetamer, a device for an arrangement of the hair in a long lock drawn tightly against the back, sides and or top of head and cinched so as to hang loosely, and or at the end of hair for securing braided hair, it is made with a flexible rigid metal core that when put in a shape around the hair it remains until taken out of that shape with an outer protective cover that assist in the action of rolling/bending Manetamer around hair and forming a locked ring.
