BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Individuals need a number of products when tending to tasks and chores in the kitchen. Many keep a dish sponge, brushes, soap, plants, and other necessary items around the sink. This clutter can cause confusion, never mind the fact it is unsightly. A method for keeping items conveniently situated in an easy to access manner would be appreciated.

I got my idea to make my ‘Kitchen Sink Shelf Helper’ when I got home from visiting my son and daughter-in-law's home back in 1997. In their home they have a window in their kitchen that extends out above their sink about 2 or so feet. It has 2 shelves on it. This make it handy for them to put sponges, small brushes in a basket, long handled brushes, soap, and several plants on the shelves. One day I was out at Home Depot looking around, and I came upon their vinyl white wire shelving, and my mind got to working about my sink shelf. The only thing they didn't have was a six inch piece in width on display. I asked the clerk if they had anything in six inch width? The clerk said no, that the companies do not make anything in that width. So I looked their 12 inch width piece over and I noticed that the support wire down the middle was the same diameter as the outside support wire, and measured six inches from the outside of the main support wire to the outside of the middle wire, I can cut down the outside of the middle wire. Then I will have a six inch piece in width which is what I want to make my shelf that will set on the back side and over the faucet on the sink.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Kitchen Sink Shelf Helper is a sturdy shelving system that will hold a number of needed items in place over a kitchen sink. The unit will eliminate the need to search through cabinets when items are required. Keeping products neatly stored and in place, the shelf will offer a number of product at the fingertips.

1 Show the shelf on the back side of the sink and over the faucet. 2 Outside wires that support the whole shelf. 3 Rounding corners that go down to make the legs of the shelf. 4 Smaller cross wires that go across from the bigger support wires 5 Spacing between small wires. 6 Plastic boots on bottom of shelf legs to set in. 7 Kitchen sink. 8 Hot and cold water faucet. 9 All the wires are coated with white vinyl covering. This makes it easy to clean and dries fast when it gets wet, also the shelf is very Sanitary.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

Kitchen Sink Shelf Helper is a unique shelving unit that will hold items with in reach at a kitchen sink. The vinyl material shelf measures 11″ high, 34″ long, and 6″ wide. The top of the unit and sides notes slats at approximately ⅝ inch over the length of the design. This will enable items to fit through the slats for hanging. Items can also be placed on top of the unit Due to the fact that the product acts as a shelf, items can also be placed beneath the shelf, along the back of the sink. Sizes may vary. Material of which the unit is made also may vary. Exact specification may be determined. A prototype has been made.
