Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a roman shade, and more particularly, to a cladding tile using adhesive layer to securely connect facing stones on the base.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Artificial or natural construction materials such as ceramic tiles, wall tiles, stone slabs, and pebbles are generally laid and attached on surfaces of various building constructions, a wall and a floor of a building construction, or a flower terrace and a floor of a garden for the decoration the building construction. As to the aforementioned traditional construction materials including the ceramic tiles, wall tiles and stone slabs laid on the surface of the building construction are in the shape of a sheet and fixed onto a surface by adhesives, and these adhesives can be made or composed of cement mortars or agar powders. The pebble pavement containing a cement mortar mixed tiny pebbles is applied and paved on a surface, and then a stone rinsing or smoothing technique is used for removing the cement on the pebbled surface to show the rough surface texture of the pebbles.

The pavement composed of sheet construction materials or pebbles and formed on a surface of a building construction generally lack of a three-dimensional (3D) perception, and thus another technique capable of showing the 3D perception was introduced, and this technique mainly sieves pebbles with an appropriate size and a smooth surface free of sharp corners and edges, after the pebbles go through processing procedures such as grounding, cleaning and sieving, and then a cement mortar is applied to a surface to form an adhesive layer, and the pebbles are adhered onto the adhesive layer one by one, and the cement mortar fixes the pebbles into positions to form a cladding, such that when light is projected onto the cladding, the shape of the pebbles and the recessions formed naturally among adjacent pebbles create a colorful light change to show the 3D perception.

However, the technique of applying pebbles onto a surface of a building or a landscape by using cement mortars directly requires the job done at the construction site and takes a long time which is unfavorable to the construction time of a building or landscape. Furthermore, the pebbles constitute a substantial weight when they are attached onto a vertical wall surface, the pebbles cannot be adhered and fixed into positions, but they may fall off from the wall when the cement mortar is not dried yet, and thus making the construction more difficult. Manufactures developed a cladding tile composed of aggregated pebbles, and the cladding tile can be prepared and manufactured into a general sheet similar to the ceramic tiles, and then attached onto a desired surface at the construction site, so as to shorten the operating time at the construction site and avoid affecting the construction time. Even if the desired surface is a vertical surface, the cladding tiles can be attached onto the vertical wall easily and quickly.

A conventional cladding tile comprises a plurality of facing stones and a structural net, wherein the facing stones are selected from pebbles or cracked stones, and the facing stones are arranged on the surface of the structural net, and an adhesive is used for adhering the structural net, so as to fix and bind each facing stone. If it is necessary to pave pebbles on a surface of a wall and a floor of various different buildings, or a flower terrace or a floor of a garden, the pebbles are no longer required to be adhered on the surface manually one by one, but the conventional cladding tiles can be attached onto the surface by cement mortars directly. The attaching operation is performed once to achieve the effect of paving a plurality of pebbles, so as to reduce the number of operations and the manufacturing time.

However, the conventional cladding tile uses a soft structural net to bind the facing stone composed of pebbles, such that when the cladding tile is paved onto a vertical surface, an operator must hold the cladding tiles vertically and adhere them onto the desired vertical surface, but the weight of the facing tile drives the conventional cladding tiles into a soft drooping form which makes the alignment of a pattern or the pavement difficult, and causes an inconvenient paving job. Even worse, when the cladding tiles are held almost vertically, the facing stones will be separated or peeled off from the structural net due to the weight of the facing tiles.

The present invention intends to provide a cladding tile which improves the connection of the facing stones on the base so that the cladding tile can be used on a vertical wall while the facing stones do not peel off.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a cladding tile which includes a base having an adhesive layer connected to a surface thereof and facing stones are securely connected to the adhesive layer.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a cladding tile wherein the facing stones are so securely connected to the base by the adhesive layer so that when the cladding tile can be conveniently used on vertical surfaces.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a cladding tile wherein the facing stones can be arranged into multiple groups between which grooves are defined. The groups of facing stones show special patterns.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the cladding tile of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view of the cladding tile of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is an exploded view to show the second embodiment of the cladding tile of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view of the third embodiment of the cladding tile of the present invention, and

FIG. 6 is a top view of the fourth embodiment of the cladding tile of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the cladding tile of the present invention comprises a board-like base 12 and an adhesive layer 14 is connected to a surface of the base 12. Multiple facing stones 16 are connected to the adhesive layer 14 which securely connects the facing stones 16 on the base 12 so that when the cladding tile is used on a vertical wall or surface, the facing stones 16 do not separated from the base 12.

The base 12 has a thickness less than 0.7 mm and can be made by desired materials such as ceramic, metal, gypsum, polymers, wood or calcium silicate. The facing stones 16 can be made by glass, wood or shells.

The adhesive layer 14 can be made by cement, sands, agar powder or gypsum mixed with water. By the properly chosen adhesive layer 14, the facing stones 16 are securely connected to the base 12.

The second embodiment of the cladding tile is disclosed in FIG. 3 and composes a base 22, a structure net 23 which is connected between an adhesive layer 24 and the base 22. The structure net 23 improves the connection of the adhesive layer 24 and the base 22. Facing stones 26 are securely connected to the adhesive layer 24.

FIG. 4 shows the third embodiment of the cladding layer wherein a foam layer 322 is located in the base 32 so as to leave noise and heat from the cladding tile.

As shown in FIG. 5 which shows the fourth embodiment of the cladding layer wherein the facing stones 46 are arranged into multiple groups 48 between which grooves 48 are defined. The facing stones 46 may include different colors of stones are cooperated with specifically designed grooves 48 to have different types of visual features for different needs.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
