Abstract:

The backrest, with a contoured neck and headrest, can be adjusted up and down, and back and forth so that the neck and headrest will fit exactly in the back of the neck and under the head for anyone whether the person is 5 feet tall or 6 feet 5 inches tall. This enables the person to completely relax while watching TV without having to hold his head up. (See illustration #2), and place a beverage on the armrest beverage platform without it tipping over.

FIG. 1 Is a is a front elevational view showing the overall dimensions of the Forever Couch. Item-1 shows the contoured head rest.

FIG. 2 is a side elevational view showing how the backrest can be adjusted back and forth and up and down. Item-2 shows the padded arm rest. Item-3 shows the adjustment mechanism for moving the backrest back and forth. Item-4 shows the adjustment mechanism for moving the backrest up and down. Item-5 is a movement indicator showing that the backrest can be adjusted up and down. Item-6 is a movement indicator showing that the backrest can be adjusted back and forth. Item-7 shows how a glass or a cup can be placed in the cup-groove of the wood armrest extension.

Claims

1. The Forever Couch consists of a solid wood frame, (no particle board), two padded armrests with a flat wood platform beverage holder, a bottom wooden box with internal springs, three cushions, an adjustable backrest with a contoured head and neck-rest that can be adjusted up and down and back and forth. The couch can be unbolted into four pieces: two sides, bottom, and backrest.
