One embodiment of the invention relates to the vertical or nearly vertical transport of an A type ladder in and around a facility on a shoulder. The invention provides a cushioned area within the A type ladder steps for lifting and ease of vertical or nearly vertical transport on a shoulder. The invention is permanently installed generally the same height from the bottom end of an A type ladder regardless of it's length and width. The invention can be used on any location where A type ladders are found, indoors or outdoors.
There are shown in the drawings embodiments, which are presently preferred, it being understood, however, that the invention is not limited to the precise arrangements shown.
FIG. 1 is the front view of the embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 2 is a front view of one embodiment of the invention installed on an A type ladder.
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 4 is a side view of the invention installed on an A type ladder
Referring to drawings (FIGS. 1 through 4) the cushion is formed out of a flexible foam type material. Lengths can be from 30 inches to 36 inches (FIG. 1) or longer for different sized openings, between steps, for permanent install on A type ladders. The cushion is permanently secured to the bottom of the step's front ridge of (FIG. 2 and FIG. 4) and inside of the ladder legs at either end of the step to reach down to the top of the step immediately below (FIG. 1). An adhesive compound is used to affix the apparatus in position. The width of the cushion's piece (FIG. 3) is 2 inches to 4 inches or larger depending on weight and height of the A type ladder. It should be understood the examples and embodiments described herein are for illustrative purposes only and that various modifications or changes in light there of will be obvious to a person skilled in the art, and that such modifications or changes are to be included with in the spirit and preview of this application. Moreover the invention can take other specific forms without departing from the spirit or essentials attributed thereof.
