Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A paper cup occupies one full hand at all times: while carrying before drinking, while drinking and even after finishing the beverage till it is dropped in a garbage bin. There is a need for a product that can free the hand from a paper cup.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

This paper cup carrier is made out of a flat bendable material. This specification refers to six figures that are briefly described as follows:

FIG. 1: shows this product in its free flat state.

FIG. 2: shows this product with its flap features [3] bent downwards, perpendicular to their free state

FIG. 3: shows a paper cup [6] inserted into this product with flap features forming a sleeve around the cup

FIG. 4: shows the product with its loop feature [2] bent upwards, perpendicular to its free state

FIG. 5: shows a paper cup [6] inserted into the product with flap features forming a sleeve around the cup and loop feature forming a handle to carry the cup

FIG. 6: points to a distinct flat face [4] on the product that provides confined area for writing

This cup carrier has following features:

    • a circular feature, highlighted as [1] in FIG. 1
    • a loop feature, highlighted as [2] in FIG. 1. This loop feature [2] is connected to the circular feature [1] at its outer edge at two places: one on each side of circular feature [1] along its middle
    • one or more flap like features, highlighted as [3] in FIG. 1. Each flap feature [3] is connected to inner edge of circular feature [1] forming a bendable connection. Each flap feature [3] converges inward covering the inner opening of circular feature [1]
    • the loop feature [2] can further be connected to another small finger grip loop, highlighted as [5] in FIG. 1
    • a distinct flat face, highlighted as [4] in FIG. 1. This flat face [4] can be connected to or be part of the circular feature [1] or the loop feature [2] or the finger grip loop [5] or the flap feature [3].

Working of Paper Cup Carrier:

Paper cup, highlighted as [6] in FIG. 3 and FIG. 5, can be inserted by its smaller diameter end inside the circular feature [1]. As the cup is inserted it will push the flap feature(s) [3] in direction of cup insertion. The flap feature [3] will bend to form a sleeve around the cup as shown in FIG. 2. FIG. 3 shows a cup, highlighted as [6], inside the circular feature [1].

Once the circular feature [1] slides up and stops against the outer taper wall of the cup [6], the loop feature [2] can be pulled up to carry the cup as shown in FIG. 4. FIG. 5 shows a cup [6] inserted in the product for carrying.

Flat face [4] provides space to write name or beverage type for personalization as shown in FIG. 6.

Claims

I claim:

1. This cup carrier is designed to be made in flat form that has at least two following features:

a) A circular feature to receive a cup, and

b) A loop feature attached to above mentioned circular feature that can be bent to form a carry handle.

2. The circular feature mentioned in claim #1 can also have one or more flap like features in same flat plane. These flap like features are connected to the circular feature at its inner edge from one end and free on the other end. These flap feature forms a bendable connection with the circular feature.

3. This cup carrier can also have a distinct writing space confined by a physical boundary.
