The present invention relates to heated beverages and, more particularly, to a microwavable prepackaged drink container.
Currently, there is no way to enjoy a hot beverage such as coffee, tea or the like, in a prepackaged single serving. Currently, individuals must rely on coffee makers or going to a coffee shop. Coffee makers or brewing tea can waste excess beverage. Using a thermos can get smelly and unclean. The beverage can often be too variable from day to day depending on how it was prepared. The beverage cannot stay fresh over the course of the day. It can also be hard to access the beverage once a person leaves the home or workplace.
As can be seen, there is a need for a microwavable prepackaged drink container.
In one aspect of the present invention, a microwavable prepackaged drink container comprises: a base container having an interior housing and an open top, wherein the base container is made from a microwavable safe material; at least one liquid within the interior housing of the base container; and a lid removably attached to the base, wherein the lid removably secures the at least one liquid with the interior housing of the base container.
In another aspect of the present invention, a method for producing a prepackaged beverage comprises the steps of: adding at least one liquid into an interior housing of a base container through an open top of the base container, wherein the base container is made from a microwavable safe material; and removably securing a lid on the base container, wherein the lid secures the liquid within the interior housing of the base container.
These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
FIG. 1 is a schematic view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; and
FIG. 2 is a section view of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention taken along line 2-2 in FIG. 1.
The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a microwavable prepackaged drink container that includes a base container having an interior housing and an open top. The base container is made from a microwavable safe material. At least one liquid contained within the interior housing of the base container. A lid may removably attach to the base. The microwavable prepackaged drink container may be stored and then ready for heating and consumption. The microwavable prepackaged drink container may be stored in a refrigerator based off of the liquids that are contained within the base container.
The present invention may allow for consistency in a favorite type and brand of coffee, tea, or the like, in the comfort of the home, work, or other location with a quick use of a microwave. There may be no waiting to brew and dispense in a thermos or the like. The beverage may be placed in the microwavable prepackaged drink container and ready for use. The prepackaged drink container may be placed on a shelf or in a refrigerator until use.
As is illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, a microwavable prepackaged drink container may include a beverage including at least one liquid 14 within an interior housing of a base container 10. The base container 10 may be substantially cylindrical and have an open top. The base container 10 may be placed in a microwave 12 and the liquid 14 within the base container 10 may be heated when ready for use. The base container 10 may allow for the heating of the at least liquid 14 within the base container 10. A lid 16 may be removably attached to the base container 10. The lid 16 may close off the open top of the base container 10 and secure the at least one liquid 14 within the interior housing of the base container 10 until ready for use. The lid 16 may removably attach to the base container 10 by sliding into place, within a perimeter of the interior housing, by snapping into a set of indentions along the perimeter of the interior housing of the base container 10, or the like. The base container 10 may be made from a microwavable safe material.
In certain embodiments, the lid 16 may have two parts. The lid 16 may include a seal portion and a top portion. The seal portion may be removed when the microwavable prepackaged drink container may be ready for use. The top portion may be removably attached on the base container 10 prior to placement in the microwave 12. The top section of the lid 16 may include a plurality of holes to allow for ventilation while within the microwave 12.
In certain embodiments, the container 10 may be purchased in bulk, through vending machines, or the like. The liquid 14 may be coffee, tea, or the like. In certain embodiments, portions of the liquid 14 may require refrigeration prior to use, such as with lattes and the like. The microwavable prepackaged drink container may then be placed in a refrigerator prior to use. Instead of having to add water, or other ingredients to these typically hot beverages, the microwavable prepackaged drink container may just be heated in the microwave and ready for consumption.
It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
1. A microwavable prepackaged drink container comprising:
a base container having an interior housing and an open top, wherein the base container is made from a microwavable safe material;
at least one liquid within the interior housing of the base container; and
a lid removably attached to the base, wherein the lid removably secures the at least one liquid with the interior housing of the base container.
2. The container of claim 1, wherein the lid removably attaches to the lid by snapping into a set of indentions along a perimeter of the interior housing of the base container.
3. The container of claim 1, wherein the base container is substantially cylindrical in shape.
4. The container of claim 1, wherein the lid comprises a seal portion and a top portion.
5. A method for producing a prepackaged beverage comprising the steps of:
adding at least one liquid into an interior housing of a base container through an open top of the base container, wherein the base container is made from a microwavable safe material; and
removably securing a lid on the base container, wherein the lid removably secures the liquid within the interior housing of the base container.
6. The method of claim 5, further comprising refrigerating the base container and lid for storage.
7. The method of claim 5, wherein the base container is substantially cylindrical in shape.
