Abstract:

A powder dispensing assembly includes a bottle that may be inserted into a neck of a water bottle. The bottle is comprised of a deformable material and the bottle may be squeezed. A granular material is provided and the bottle contains the granular material. The granular material is urged outwardly from the bottle when the bottle is squeezed. In this way the granular material is added to a fluid in the water bottle. A seal is coupled to the bottle and the seal retains the granular material in the bottle. The seal is selectively urged into an open position when the bottle is squeezed thereby facilitating the granular material to pass through the seal.

The disclosure and prior art relates to dispensing devices and more particularly pertains to a new dispensing device for mixing a granular material with a fluid in a water bottle.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a bottle that may be inserted into a neck of a water bottle. The bottle is comprised of a deformable material and the bottle may be squeezed. A granular material is provided and the bottle contains the granular material. The granular material is urged outwardly from the bottle when the bottle is squeezed. In this way the granular material is added to a fluid in the water bottle. A seal is coupled to the bottle and the seal retains the granular material in the bottle. The seal is selectively urged into an open position when the bottle is squeezed thereby facilitating the granular material to pass through the seal.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new dispensing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the powder dispensing assembly 10 generally comprises a bottle 12 that has a first end 14, a second end 16 and an outer wall 18 extending therebetween. The outer wall 18 tapers inwardly toward the first end 14 and the first end 14 is open. The outer wall 18 has an outer surface 20 and the outer surface 20 is threaded adjacent to the first end 14. The first end 14 may be inserted into a neck 22 of a water bottle 24 or other fluid 28 container. The bottle 12 is comprised of a deformable material and the bottle 12 is selectively squeezed. Moreover, the bottle 12 may be comprised of a biodegradable material.

A granular material 26 is provided and the granular material 26 is contained within the bottle 12. The granular material 26 is urged outwardly from the first end 14 when the bottle 12 is squeezed. In this way the granular material 26 is added to a fluid 28 in the water bottle 24. The granular material 26 may be a powder nutritional supplement or the like and the fluid 28 may be water.

A seal 30 is provided and the seal 30 is coupled to the bottle 12. The seal 30 retains the granular material 26 in the bottle 12. The seal 30 has a first surface 32, a second surface 34 and a peripheral edge 36. The seal 30 has a plurality of cuts 38 extending through the first surface 32 and the second surface 34. Each of the cuts 38 extends between the peripheral edge 36 and a center of the seal 30. Moreover, each of the cuts 38 is releasably sealed together with an adhesive or the. The first surface 32 of the seal 30 is coupled to the first end 14 of the bottle 12 such that the seal 30 closes the first end 14. The seal 30 bursts at each of the cuts 38 when the bottle 12 is squeezed thereby facilitating the granular material 26 to pass through the seal 30. The seal 30 may be comprised of a deformable material such as aluminum foil or the like.

A cap 40 is provided and the cap 40 is removably coupled to the bottle 12. The cap 40 retains the granular material 26 in the bottle 12. The cap 40 has a top wall 42 and a peripheral wall 44 extending away therefrom. The peripheral wall 44 is continuous such that the cap 40 has a rounded shape. The peripheral wall 44 has an inner surface 46 and the inner surface 46 is threaded. The inner surface 46 threadably engages the outer surface 20 of the bottle 12 to retain the cap 40 on the bottle 12.

In use, the cap 40 is removed from the bottle 12 and the first end 14 of the bottle 12 is inserted into the neck 22 of the water bottle 24. The outer wall 18 of the bottle 12 is squeezed and the granular material 26 bursts forth from the seal 30. The granular material 26 is emptied from the bottle 12 in the fluid 28 in the water bottle 24. The water bottle 24 is shaken to mix the granular material 26 with the fluid 28 and the fluid 28 is consumed. The bottle 12 is disposed of when the bottle 12 is empty. Positioning the first end 14 of the bottle 12 in the neck 22 of the water bottle 24 ensures all of the granular material 26 enters the water bottle 24 without spilling.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A powder dispensing assembly comprising:

a bottle being configured to be inserted into a neck of a water bottle, said bottle being comprised of a deformable material wherein said bottle is configured to be squeezed;

a granular material being contained within said bottle, said granular material being urged outwardly from said bottle when said bottle is squeezed wherein said granular material is configured to be added to a fluid in the water bottle;

a seal being coupled to said bottle, said seal retaining said granular material in said bottle, said seal being selectively urged into an open position when said bottle is squeezed thereby facilitating said granular material to pass through said seal, said seal having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral edge, said seal having a plurality of cuts extending through said first surface and said second surface, each of said cuts extending between said peripheral edge and a center of said seal, said plurality of cuts including a pair of parabolic shaped cuts having intersecting vertices.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said bottle has a first end, a second end and an outer wall extending therebetween, said outer wall tapering inwardly toward said first end, said first end being open, said outer wall having an outer surface, said outer surface being threaded adjacent to said first end.

3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said seal is coupled to said first end of said bottle such that said seal closes said first end, said seal bursting at each of said cuts when said bottle is squeezed.

4. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a cap being removably coupled to said bottle, said cap retaining said granular material in said bottle, said cap having a top wall and a peripheral wall extending away therefrom, said peripheral wall being continuous, said peripheral wall having an inner surface, said inner surface being threaded, said inner surface threadably engaging said outer surface of said bottle to retain said cap on said bottle.

5. A powder dispensing assembly comprising:

a bottle having a first end, a second end and an outer wall extending therebetween, said outer wall tapering inwardly toward said first end, said first end being open, said outer wall having an outer surface, said outer surface being threaded adjacent to said first end, said first end being configured to be inserted into a neck of a water bottle, said bottle being comprised of a deformable material wherein said bottle is configured to be squeezed;

a granular material being contained within said bottle, said granular material being urged outwardly from said first end when said bottle is squeezed wherein said granular material is configured to be added to a fluid in the water bottle;

a seal being coupled to said bottle, said seal retaining said granular material in said bottle, said seal being selectively urged into an open position when said bottle is squeezed, said seal having a first surface, a second surface and a peripheral edge, said seal having a plurality of cuts extending through said first surface and said second surface, each of said cuts extending between said peripheral edge and a center of said seal, said plurality of cuts including a pair of parabolic shaped cuts having intersecting vertices, said seal being coupled to said first end of said bottle such that said seal closes said first end, said seal bursting at each of said cuts when said bottle is squeezed thereby facilitating said granular material to pass through said seal; and

a cap being removably coupled to said bottle, said cap retaining said granular material in said bottle, said cap having a top wall and a peripheral wall extending away therefrom, said peripheral wall being continuous, said peripheral wall having an inner surface, said inner surface being threaded, said inner surface threadably engaging said outer surface of said bottle to retain said cap on said bottle.
