Description

BACKGROUND

1. Field

The present general inventive concept relates generally to a board game, and particularly, to a kicking disc board game.

2. Description of the Related Art

Currently, there are many popular sports played including basketball, football, soccer, and hockey. Unfortunately, most sports require a large number of players. Additionally, sports, such as basketball, football, soccer, and hockey can only be played outdoors.

Moreover, games are a fun and interactive activity that provide entertainment to any participant. However, game players usually seek new games that can combine popular sports in a more compact environment.

Therefore, there is a need for a game that can be quickly assembled and does not require a large team of players.

SUMMARY

The present general inventive concept provides a kicking disc board game.

Additional features and utilities of the present general inventive concept will be set forth in part in the description which follows and, in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the general inventive concept.

The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a kicking disc board game, including a disc to be moved by at least one player, a board to receive the disc thereupon, and a plurality of goal posts removably connected to at least a portion of the board to receive the disc therein.

The disc may be a puck.

The disc may be a ball.

The board may include a first section, and a second section connected to at least a portion of a first side of the first section at a center of the board.

The second section may be removably connected to the first section.

The second section may be hingedly disposed to the first section, such that the second section may fold toward the first section.

The kicking disc board game may further include a plurality of end walls disposed on at least a portion of at least one side of the board to prevent the disc from falling off the board in response to contacting at least one of the plurality of end walls.

Each of the plurality of end walls may be disposed along a length of opposing sides of the board.

Each of the plurality of end walls may be elevated with respect to the board.

Various example embodiments (a.k.a., exemplary embodiments) will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings in which some example embodiments are illustrated. In the figures, the thicknesses of lines, layers and/or regions may be exaggerated for clarity.

Accordingly, while example embodiments are capable of various modifications and alternative forms, embodiments thereof are shown by way of example in the figures and will herein be described in detail. FIG. 1 illustrates a top perspective view of a kicking disc board game 100, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present general inventive concept.

The kicking disc board game 100 may be constructed from at least one of metal, plastic, wood, and rubber, etc., but is not limited thereto.

The kicking disc board game 100 may include a board 110, a plurality of goal posts 120, a plurality of end walls 130, and a disc 140, but is not limited thereto.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the board 110 is illustrated to have rectangular shape. However, the board 110 may be a rectangular prism, circular, pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal, or any other shape known to one of ordinary skill in the art, but is not limited thereto. Additionally, the board 110 may have a substantially smooth surface, such that an object in contact with the board 110 may roll and/or slide across at least a portion of the board 110 without resistance.

The board 110 may include a first section 111 and a second section 112, but is not limited thereto.

The board 110 may be of any predetermined size to fit within a room of a building. For example, the board 110 may have a length of eight feet and a width of two feet, but is not limited thereto.

The first section 111 may include a first side 111a, a second side 111b, a third side 111c, a fourth side 111d, a fifth side 111e, and a sixth side 111f, but is not limited thereto.

The second section 112 may include a first side 112a, a second side 112b, a third side 112c, a fourth side 112d, a fifth side 112e, and a sixth side 112f, but is not limited thereto.

Referring again to FIGS. 1 and 2, the first side 111a of the first section 111 may be removably connected to at least a portion of the first side 112a of the second section 112. Alternatively, the first side 111a of the first section 111 may be hingedly disposed on at least a portion of the first side 112a of the second section 112, such that the third side 111c of the first section 111 may be moved at least partially toward the third side 112c of the second section 112. In other words, the first section 111 and the second section 112 may fold at a center portion of the board 110. As such, the board 110 may be portable and stored by reducing a surface area.

Moreover, the sixth side 111f of the first section 111 and the sixth side 112f of the second section may be removably disposed on at least a portion of a planar surface, such as a ground surface to play a game.

The plurality of goal posts 120 may include a first goal post 121 and a second goal post 122, but is not limited thereto.

Each of the plurality of goal posts 120 may have a predetermined size. For example, each of the plurality of goal posts 120 may be five inches in length, five inches in width, and five inches in height, but is not limited thereto.

The first goal post 121 may be removably connected on at least a portion of the fifth side 111e of the first section 111 substantially near the third side 111c.

Referring to FIG. 2, the first goal post 121 is illustrated to have three elongated members extending away from the fifth side 111e of the first section 111 and connected at a lateral portion. However, the first goal post 121 may be constructed to resemble a conventional goal post as is known in the art of sports, such as a net goal post, a football goal post, or a U-shaped goal post, but is not limited thereto.

The second goal post 122 may be removably connected on at least a portion of the fifth side 112e of the second section 112 substantially near the third side 112c.

Referring again to FIG. 2, the second goal post 122 is illustrated to have three elongated members extending away from the fifth side 112e of the second section 112 and connected at another lateral portion. However, the second goal post 122 may be constructed to resemble a conventional goal post as is known in the art of sports, such as a net goal post, a football goal post, or a U-shaped goal post, but is not limited thereto.

The plurality of end walls 130 may include a first end wall 131 and a second end wall 132, but is not limited thereto.

The first end wall 131 may be disposed along at least a portion of the third side 111c of the first section 111. In other words, a length of the first end wall 131 may be substantially similar to a length of the third side 111c. The first end wall 131 may be elevated with respect to the fifth side 111e. Furthermore, additional end walls may be disposed along at least a portion of the second side 111b and/or the fourth side 111d.

The second end wall 132 may be disposed along at least a portion of the third side 112c of the second section 112. In other words, a length of the second end wall 132 may be substantially similar to a length of the third side 112c. The second end wall 132 may be elevated with respect to the fifth side 112e. Furthermore, additional end walls may be disposed along at least a portion of the second side 112b and/or the fourth side 112d.

Referring to FIG. 1, the disc 140 is illustrated to be a puck. However, the disc 140 may be a ball, but is not limited thereto.

The game may be played by at least one player, but any number of players may participate. The at least one player may decide on a score necessary to win the game. For example, the score necessary to win may be five points, but is not limited thereto.

To begin the game, at least one first player may kick the disc 140 from at least a portion of the first section 111 or the second section 112 toward the second goal post 122 or the first goal post 121, respectively. The at least one first player may receive a point in response to the disc 140 moving within the second goal post 122 or the first goal post 121. Subsequently, regardless of whether the at least one first player scores the point, at least one second player may kick the disc 140 from at least a portion of the second section 112 or the first section 111 toward the first goal post 121 or the second goal post 122, respectively. As such, the at least one second player may receive a point in response to the disc 140 moving within the first goal post 121 or the second goal post 122

Also, the first end wall 131 and/or the second end wall 132 may prevent the disc 140 from falling off the first section 111 and/or the second section 112 in response to the disc 140 contacting at least a portion thereof.

Therefore, the kicking disc board game 100 may be a fun and innovative game for the at least one player to play in an indoor and/or an outdoor environment. The kicking disc board game 100 may capture a spirit of popular sports games, such as hockey and soccer. However, the kicking disc board game 100 may be played with fewer players than a standard sports game. Furthermore, the kicking disc board game 100 may be quickly assembled and disassembled.

Although a few embodiments of the present general inventive concept have been shown and described, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the general inventive concept, the scope of which is defined in the appended claims and their equivalents.

Claims

1. A kicking disc board game, comprising:

a disc to be moved by at least one player;

a board to receive the disc thereupon;

a plurality of goal posts removably connected to at least a portion of the board to receive the disc therein; and

a plurality of end walls disposed on at least a portion of a first side of the board and a second side of the board opposite with respect to the first side to prevent the disc from falling off the board in response to contacting at least one of the plurality of end walls, such that each of the plurality of end walls is disposed farther from a center of the board than each of the plurality of goal posts.

2. The kicking disc board game of claim 1, wherein the disc is a puck.

3. The kicking disc board game of claim 1, wherein the disc is a ball.

4. The kicking disc board game of claim 1, wherein the board comprises:

a first section; and

a second section connected to at least a portion of a first side of the first section at a center of the board.

5. The kicking disc board game of claim 4, wherein the second section is removably connected to the first section.

6. The kicking disc board game of claim 4, wherein the second section is hingedly disposed to the first section, such that the second section folds toward the first section.

8. The kicking disc board game of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of end walls is disposed along a length of opposing sides of the board.

9. The kicking disc board game of claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of end walls are elevated with respect to the board.

10. A kicking disc board game, comprising:

a disc to be moved by at least one player;

an octagonal board to receive the disc thereupon; and

a plurality of goal posts removably connected to at least a portion of the board to receive the disc therein, the plurality of goal posts comprising:

a lateral portion, and

three elongated members perpendicularly extending away from a side of the octagonal board at a first end of each of the three elongated members to connect to the lateral portion at a second end of each of the three elongated members, such that the first end of the first elongated member extends at least partially on the octagonal board away from the first elongated member in a first direction, the first end of the second elongated member extends at least partially on the octagonal board away from the second elongated member in a second direction opposite with respect to the first direction and the first end of the third elongated member extends at least partially on the octagonal board away from the third elongated member in a third direction.
