BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Hooded apparel has always been used as a protector of the wearer's head, from the elements of weather such as wind, snow and rain. Some wearer's of hooded apparel like them for certain styles and fashions.

But, peripheral vision is compromised by hooded apparel today and because of the lack of side vision, safety is an issue that needs to be resolved.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A hooded apparel in relation with the present invention that has a body portion and a hood portion. The hood portion having transparent portions on both sides at eye level that will allow the wearer to have a greater peripheral vision, giving the wearer a better awareness of their surroundings.

Another advantage, the transparent portion being unique in it's design consist of two different materials. First, the outer layer is a film that has a mirror effect, giving the wearer ability to see out but no one can see in. Secondly, the inner layer is a clear vinyl material that has a transparent quality and also provides unity and strength to the overall structure of the hood portion.

The hood portion having drawstrings on both sides will allow the wearer to adjust the hood to a preferred fit.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

As illustrate in the embodiment blow, shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3 a hooded apparel 10, having a hood portion 12 and a body portion 8, the hooded portion 12 having a transparent portion 14 on both sides at eye level, for a broader peripheral vision.

The transparent portion 14 is stitched 16 into the hood portion 12, but not limited to stitching as a means of integrating the transparent portion 14 to the hood portion 12, it could be bonded or by any means available.

FIG. 3 shows a cross-section view of the two different materials used to make the transparent portion 14, a layer of mirror effect film 22 is placed on top of the clear vinyl 20 with either a bonding solution or glue.

The transparent portion 14 can be of any type of material that has a transparent quality, e.g., polyester, synthetic or cloth material.

Drawstrings 18, is sewed into place under the transparent portion 14 at the front of the hood portion 12 and lies within a drawstring channel 19 which is created by a channel stitch 17. The said drawstrings 18 helps the wearer to adjust the transparent portion 14 to a preferred position.

Claims

What is claimed:

1. A hooded apparel comprising:

a body portion and a hood portion, the hood portion having a transparent portion located on both sides of said hood portion, at eye level of the wearer.

2. The hooded apparel of claim 1, having said the transparent portion which consist of two different materials, one being a mirror effect film and the other a clear vinyl material, the to materials are held together by a bonding solution.
