The present disclosure relates to a garment assembly, and more specifically to a garment assembly having an exchangeable garment item that enables users to customize garment appearance, and a storage system for the exchangeable garment item.
Garments are generally available to users in a variety of designs and colors. A user may select and purchase a garment from several available options of garment designs. Limited means are available for the user to customize the garment after the user purchases the garment. Thus, if the user desires to change a design or appearance of the garment that the user may have purchased, the user may be required to buy a new garment.
Purchasing new garments frequently may cause inconvenience to the user and may not be financially viable. In addition, purchasing new garments frequently may create additional burden on the user to store and manage multiple garments in a closet.
Thus, there is a need for a system that enables users to conveniently change garment appearance, without requiring to purchase a new garment altogether.
It is with respect to these and other considerations that the disclosure made herein is presented.

The present disclosure is directed towards a garment assembly that may include an exchangeable garment item. The exchangeable garment item may be configured to removably attach to a garment. The exchangeable garment item may include images, logos, text, graphics, artwork, and/or the like. A user may removably attach the exchangeable garment item to the garment to change garment appearance. The exchangeable garment item may be removably attached to the garment using a first fastening member. The first fastening member may be a hook-and-loop fastener.
The garment assembly may further include a storage system that may be used to store the exchangeable garment item when the exchangeable garment item is detached from the garment. The storage system may include a first scroll rod and a second scroll rod. The exchangeable garment item may be removably attached to the first scroll rod and the second scroll rod using a second fastening member. In some aspects, the second fastening member too may be a hook-and-loop fastener.
In some aspects, the exchangeable garment item may include hooks or hook strips that may be disposed on an exchangeable garment item rear portion in any configuration. For example, the hook strips may be disposed at an exchangeable garment item periphery. In addition, the hook strips may be disposed horizontally at an exchangeable garment item middle portion. In further aspects, the hook strips may be disposed in a cross configuration on the exchangeable garment item. The garment may include corresponding loops configured to attach with the hooks disposed at the exchangeable garment item.
In further aspects, the hooks disposed at the exchangeable garment item may be configured to attach with one or more loop strips disposed on the first and second scroll rods. For example, the user may attach the exchangeable garment item to the first and second scroll rods by using the hooks and the loops when the exchangeable garment item is not in use.
The present disclosure discloses an assembly that enables the user to customize garment appearance. In particular, the present disclosure enables the user to replace the images, text, graphics disposed on the garment without requiring to purchase a new garment altogether. In addition, the present disclosure describes a storage system that may enable the user to conveniently store the exchangeable garment item without requiring much space. Further, the storage system is portable, and thus the user may easily carry the exchangeable garment item.
These and other advantages of the present disclosure are provided in detail herein.
The disclosure will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which example embodiments of the disclosure are shown, and not intended to be limiting.
FIG. 1 depicts an example garment 100 having an exchangeable garment item 105 in accordance with the present disclosure. While describing FIG. 1, reference may be made to FIGS. 2A and 2B.
The garment 100 may be, for example, a top, a t-shirt, a hoodie, a sweater, a sweatshirt, a coat, a jacket, and/or the like. In some aspects, the garment 100 may be sleeveless. In other aspects, the garment 100 may have sleeves. The sleeves may be of any length. For example, the garment 100 may have short-sleeves, half-sleeves, full sleeves, etc. In further aspects, the garment 100 may be collar-less (as shown in FIG. 1). In other aspects, the garment 100 may have collar of any length and style. Further, the garment 100 may have a neck of any size and shape. For example, the garment 100 may have a round neck, a “V-shaped” neck, deep scoop neck, a key hole neck, and/or the like. In further aspects, the garment 100 may include pants, jeans, shorts, etc. The garment 100 may be made of any material such as cotton, hosiery, silk, nylon etc. In further aspects, the garment 100 may be of any size (e.g., the garment 100 may be of any length and width).
The exchangeable garment item 105 may include an item that may be removably attached to the garment 100. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be removably attached to a garment front portion, a garment back portion, a garment sleeve, or their combination thereof. The exchangeable garment item 105 may include images, logos, text, graphics, artwork, and/or the like. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may include an image of a cartoon character, a scenic view, a user's picture, emoticons, promotion images such as food images, sports image (such as a football image, as shown in FIG. 1), an animal image, and/or the like. As another example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may include text such as user's name, team name, organization name, motivational text, promotional text, personalized text, and/or the like. As further example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may include logos such as organization logo, superhero or an action figure logo, and/or the like.
The exchangeable garment item 105 may be of any configuration. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be of any shape including, but not limited to, square, rectangular, circular, oval, star-shaped, heart-shaped, and/or the like. Further, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be of any size. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may have a length or a width in a range of 2-14 centimeters (cm).
In some aspects, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be made of same material as the garment 100. In other aspects, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be made of a material different from the garment material. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be made of cloth, nylon, or any other material.
The exchangeable garment item 105 may be removably attached to the garment 100 by using a first fastening member 110, shown in views 115 and 120. In particular, the view 115 depicts garment 100 front view without the exchangeable garment item 105, and the view 120 depicts exchangeable garment item 105 front view and rear view. The first fastening member 110 may be disposed on a garment 100 front portion and an exchangeable garment item 105 rear portion, as shown in FIG. 1.
In some aspects, the first fastening member 110 may include hook-and-loop fastener or arrangement, as shown in FIG. 1. In other aspects, the first fastening member 110 may include any other fastening means, e.g., a zipper, snaps, buttons and buttonholes, magnetic elements, etc. Although the present disclosure is described using a hook-and-loop fastener as an example, the hook-and-loop fastener should not be construed as limiting the present disclosure scope. For example, in some aspects, the exchangeable garment item 105 and the garment 100 may include magnets of opposite polarity (or magnetic-and-ferrous material fastening arrangement) that may enable the exchangeable garment item 105 to be removably attached with the garment 100.
In some aspects, the garment 100 may include hooks and the exchangeable garment item 105 may include corresponding loops. In other aspects, the exchangeable garment item 105 may include books and the garment 100 may include corresponding loops. The hooks and loops may be sewn to the respective garment 100 and the exchangeable garment item 105. In other aspects, the hooks and loops may be attached to the respective garment 100 and the exchangeable garment item 105 via adhesive or glue.
The hooks and loops may be disposed on the garment 100 and the exchangeable garment item 105 in any configuration. For example, the hooks may be disposed at an exchangeable garment item periphery 125, as shown in view 120 (specifically, the exchangeable garment item 105 rear view). In particular, the hooks may be disposed at the exchangeable garment item periphery 125 completely (e.g., continuously on all the edges of the exchangeable garment item 105) such that there is no gap between the garment 100 and the exchangeable garment item 105 when the exchangeable garment item 105 is attached to the garment 100 by using the first fastening member 110.
The garment 100 may include corresponding loops as shown in the view 115. In particular, the garment 100 may include a border 130 having loops (e.g., loop strips on top edge, bottom edge, left edge, and right edge of the border 130). The border 130 may be disposed at a garment center portion or any other portion, and may be configured to attach the exchangeable garment item 105 on the garment 100. Border 130 size may correspond to exchangeable garment item 105 size such that the exchangeable garment item periphery 125 may be disposed on the border 130. Stated another way, the border 130 size may be equivalent to the exchangeable garment item 105 size such that the exchangeable garment item 105 may lay flush on the garment 100 when the exchangeable garment item 105 is attached to the garment 100 by using the first fastening member 110.
In further aspects, the exchangeable garment item 105 may include additional hooks that may be disposed in a horizontal alignment on the exchangeable garment item 105. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may include one or more horizontal strips of hooks (e.g., two horizontal strips 135a, 135b of hooks, as shown in the view 120) that may be placed in proximity to an exchangeable garment item middle or center portion. The horizontal strips 135a, 135b may provide additional stability and robustness to the garment-and-exchangeable garment item attachment, when the exchangeable garment item 105 is attached to the garment 100.
The horizontal strips 135a, 135b may be disposed between an exchangeable garment item 105 left edge and an exchangeable garment item 105 right edge. The horizontal strips 135a, 135b may be disposed at a predefined distance from the top and bottom edges of the exchangeable garment item 105, respectively. In some aspects, the horizontal strips 135a, 135b may be disposed at an equal distance from the top and bottom edges, respectively. In other aspects, the horizontal strips 135a, 135b may be disposed at any distance from the top and bottom edges. In further aspects, the exchangeable garment item 105 may have more or less than two horizontal strips. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may have one horizontal strip at exchangeable garment item 105 center position. In further aspects, the hooks may be disposed vertically on the exchangeable garment item 105, as opposed to or in addition to the horizontal strips 135a, 135b.
The garment 100 may include corresponding horizontal loops as shown in the view 115. In particular, the garment 100 may include two horizontal strips 140a, 140b of loops that may be disposed between a border 130 left edge and a border 130 right edge. The position of the horizontal strips 140a, 140b may correspond to position of the horizontal strips 135a, 135b disposed on the exchangeable garment item 105. In further aspects, the loops may be disposed vertically on the garment 100, as opposed to or in addition to the horizontal strips 140a, 140b.
In further aspects, the hooks may be disposed in other configurations, different from the ones depicted in FIG. 1. For example, the hooks may be disposed in a “cross” configuration 205 at the exchangeable garment item 105, as shown in FIG. 2B. In particular, FIGS. 2A and 2B depict a second example garment 200 having the exchangeable garment item 105 in accordance with the present disclosure. In an exemplary aspect, the garment 200 may be a jacket having a hoodie. The cross configuration 205 may include hooks that connects opposite corners of the exchangeable garment item periphery 125. The garment 200 may include corresponding cross configuration 210 of loops. The cross configuration 210 may include loops that connects opposite corners of the border 130.
Although the present disclosure is described by using a garment as an example, the present disclosure can work equally efficiently on fashion accessories or other items including, but not limited to, hand bags, school bags, luggage bags, scarfs, hats, picture frame, pillows, photo albums, and/or the like. For example, a user may removably attach the exchangeable garment item 105 to a pillow by using the first fastening member 110.
FIG. 3 depicts a storage system 300 (or holder) for storing the exchangeable garment item 105, in accordance with the present disclosure. The storage system 300 may be configured to store the exchangeable garment item 105 when the exchangeable garment item 105 is not attached to the garment 100 (e.g., when the exchangeable garment item 105 is not in use or is detached from the garment 100). The storage system 300 may include a first scroll rod 305a and a second scroll rod 305b. The first scroll rod 305a may be same as the second scroll rod 305b.
In some aspects, the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be solid rods. In other aspects, the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be hollow rods. In further aspects, the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be of any shape including, but not limited to, cylindrical, cuboid, or the like. The first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be made of any material including, but not limited to, wood, plastic, metal, and/or the like. The first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be of any length that may correspond to exchangeable garment item 105 width. For example, lengths of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be slightly greater than the exchangeable garment item 105 width such that the exchangeable garment item 105 may be rolled or wrapped along exchangeable garment item 105 length on the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b.
Each of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may include a pair of stoppers 310a, 310b disposed at ends of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. The pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may prevent the exchangeable garment item 105 from sliding of the respective first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. In some aspects, thickness of the pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may be greater the thickness of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. In some aspects, the pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may be integrated with the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. Alternatively, the pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may be removably attached to the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. For example, the pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may have a hollow portion that may be configured to receive the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b.
The pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may be made of a same material as the material of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. For example, the pair of stoppers 310a, 310b and the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be made of wood. In other aspects, the pair of stoppers 310a, 310b may be made of a material different from the material of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b.
The first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be configured to removably attach to the exchangeable garment item 105 by using a second fastening member. For example, the exchangeable garment item 105 may be stored between the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b by using the second fastening member. The second fastening member may include a hook-and-loop fastener or arrangement. In particular, the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may include one or more loop strips 315 that may be configured to attach to corresponding hook strips (not shown in FIG. 3) that may be disposed on the exchangeable garment item 105. In some aspects, the hook strips may be same as the hook strips on the exchangeable garment item 105 described in conjunction with FIG. 1. Stated another way, in some aspects, the second fastening member may be a part of (or a subpart of) the first fastening member 110. In other aspects, the second fastening member may be different from the first fastening member 110. In this case, the exchangeable garment item 105 may have separate and dedicated hook strips that may attach to the loop strips 315.
In some aspects, the loop strips 315 may be distributed over the length of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b. For example, one loop strip may be disposed at first scroll rod 305a center portion, and two loop strips near first scroll rod 305a ends (e.g., one loop strip near first scroll rod 305a left end and another loop strip near first scroll rod 305a right end). The one or more loop strips 315 may be disposed at a predetermined distance from each other. For example, the one or more loop strips 315 may be disposed at an equal distance from each other.
In other aspects, the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may include a single loop strip that may be configured to cover at least a portion of the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b, and may be configured to connect with the hooks disposed at the exchangeable garment item 105. In further aspects, the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may include more than three loop strips. The details of attaching and storing the exchangeable garment item 105 using the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b may be understood in conjunction with FIGS. 4A and 4B.
FIGS. 4A and 4B depict example snapshots for storing the exchangeable garment item 105 using the storage system 300 in accordance with the present disclosure. In particular, a user may attach the one or more loop strips 315 disposed at the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b to the hooks disposed at the exchangeable garment item 105. For example, the user may attach one or more hook strips disposed at the exchangeable garment item periphery 125 to the one or more loop strips 315.
Specifically, the user may attach a hook strip disposed at an exchangeable garment item periphery 125 top side to the loop strips 315 disposed at the first scroll rod 305a. Similarly, the user may attach a hook strip disposed at an exchangeable garment item periphery 125 bottom side to the loop strips 315 disposed at the second scroll rod 305b. In other aspects, the user may attach hook strips disposed at exchangeable garment item periphery 125 left and right sides to the loop strips 315 disposed at the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b, respectively, as depicted in FIG. 4A.
Responsive to attaching the exchangeable garment item 105 to the first and second scroll rods 305a and 305b, the user may rotate either the first scroll rod 305a or the second scroll rod 305b to roll or wrap the exchangeable garment item 105 on either the first scroll rod 305a or the second scroll rod 305b. For example, the user may rotate the first scroll rod 305a or the second scroll rod 305b in clockwise direction to wrap the exchangeable garment item 105 on the first scroll rod 305a or the second scroll rod 305b. The user may continue to rotate the first scroll rod 305a or the second scroll rod 305b until the exchangeable garment item 105 is completely wrapped, as depicted in FIG. 4B. When the user wishes to attach the exchangeable garment item 105 on the garment 100, the user may unroll the exchangeable garment item 105 by rotating the first scroll rod 305a or the second scroll rod 305b in an opposite direction e.g., an anti-clockwise direction. When the exchangeable garment item 105 is unrolled, the user may detach the exchangeable garment item 105 from the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b, and attach the exchangeable garment item 105 to the garment 100 by using the first fastening member 110.
Although the present disclosure is described using a hook-and-loop fastener as the second fastening member, the hook-and-loop fastener should not be construed as limiting the present disclosure scope. In some aspects, the second fastening member may include other fastening means, e.g., a zipper, snaps, buttons and buttonholes, magnetic elements, etc.
FIG. 5 depicts a flow diagram of a method 500 for attaching the exchangeable garment item 105 on the garment 100, in accordance with the present disclosure. FIG. 5 may be described with continued reference to prior figures, including FIGS. 1-4. The following process is exemplary and not confined to the steps described hereafter. Moreover, alternative embodiments may include more or less steps that are shown or described herein and may include these steps in a different order than the order described in the following example embodiments.
The method 500 starts at step 502. At step 504, the method 500 may include detaching the exchangeable garment item 105 from the storage system 300. In particular, the user may detach the exchangeable garment item 105 from the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b. For example, the user may unroll the exchangeable garment item 105 by rotating either the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b in a predefined direction (e.g., the anticlockwise direction), and may detach the hooks (associated with the second fastening member) disposed at the exchangeable garment item 105 from the corresponding loops 315 disposed at the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b.
At step 506, the method 500 may include attaching the exchangeable garment item 105 to the garment 100. In particular, the user may attach the exchangeable garment item 105 to the garment 100 using the first fastening member 110. For example, the user may attach the hooks disposed at the exchangeable garment item periphery 125 to the loops disposed at the border 130 (associated with the garment 100). In further aspects, the user may attach the horizontal strips 135a, 135b to the horizontal loops 140a, 140b. In further aspects, the user may attach the hooks associated with the cross configuration 205 of the exchangeable garment item 105 to the loops associated with the cross configuration 210 of the garment 200.
At step 508, the method 500 may include detaching the exchangeable garment item 105 from the garment 100. In particular, the user may detach the exchangeable garment item 105 from the garment 100 when the user wishes to change garment appearance (e.g., when the user wishes to replace the exchangeable garment item 105 with another exchangeable garment item). The user may detach the exchangeable garment item 105 by detaching the books and loops associated with the exchangeable garment item 105 and the garment 100/200.
At step 510, the method 500 may include attaching the exchangeable garment item 105 to the storage system 300 to store the exchangeable garment item 105. In particular, the user may attach the exchangeable garment item 105 to the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b. For example, the user may attach the hooks (associated with the second fastening member) disposed at the exchangeable garment item 105 to the corresponding loops 315 disposed at the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b. The user may then roll/wrap the exchangeable garment item 105 by rotating either the first scroll rod 305a and the second scroll rod 305b in a predefined direction (e.g., clockwise direction), and may store the exchangeable garment item 105 conveniently without utilizing much space.
The method 500 may stop at step 512.

1. An assembly comprising:
an exchangeable garment item configured to removably attach to a garment via a first fastening member;
a holder to store the exchangeable garment item, wherein the holder comprises a first scroll rod and a second scroll rod; and
a second fastening member configured to removably attach the exchangeable garment item to the holder.
2. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the first fastening member comprises a hook-and-loop fastener.
3. The assembly of claim 2, wherein hooks are disposed on the exchangeable garment item, and wherein loops are disposed on the garment.
4. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the hooks are disposed on an exchangeable garment item periphery.
5. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the hooks are disposed in a horizontal configuration on the exchangeable garment item.
6. The assembly of claim 5, wherein the hooks are disposed horizontally in an exchangeable garment item middle portion.
7. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the hooks are disposed in a cross configuration on the exchangeable garment item.
8. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the second fastening member comprises a hook-and-loop fastener.
9. The assembly of claim 8, wherein hooks are disposed on the exchangeable garment item, and wherein loops are disposed on the first scroll rod and the second scroll rod.
10. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the exchangeable garment item is configured to be stored between the first scroll rod and the second scroll rod.
11. A garment assembly comprising:
a garment;
an exchangeable garment item configured to removably attach to the garment;
a holder to store the exchangeable garment item when the exchangeable garment item is detached from the garment, wherein the holder comprises a first scroll rod and a second scroll rod;
a first fastening member configured to removably attach the exchangeable garment item to the garment; and
a second fastening member configured to removably attach the exchangeable garment item to the holder.
12. The garment assembly of claim 11, wherein the first fastening member comprises a hook-and-loop fastener.
13. The garment assembly of claim 12, wherein hooks are disposed on the exchangeable garment item, and wherein loops are disposed on the garment.
14. The garment assembly of claim 13, wherein the hooks are placed on an exchangeable garment item periphery.
15. The garment assembly of claim 13, wherein the hooks are disposed in a horizontal configuration on the exchangeable garment item, and wherein the hooks are disposed horizontally in an exchangeable garment item middle portion.
16. The garment assembly of claim 13, wherein the hooks are placed in a cross configuration on the exchangeable garment item.
17. The garment assembly of claim 11, wherein the second fastening member comprises a hook-and-loop fastener.
18. The garment assembly of claim 17, wherein hooks are disposed on the exchangeable garment item, and wherein loops are disposed on the first scroll rod and the second scroll rod.
19. The garment assembly of claim 11, wherein the exchangeable garment item is configured to be stored between the first scroll rod and the second scroll rod.
20. An assembly comprising:
an exchangeable garment item configured to removably attach to a garment via a first fastening member;
a holder to store the exchangeable garment item, wherein the holder comprises a first scroll rod and a second scroll rod; and
a second fastening member configured to removably attach the exchangeable garment item to the holder, wherein the second fastening member comprises a hook-and-loop fastener, wherein hooks are disposed on the exchangeable garment item, and wherein loops are disposed on the first scroll rod and the second scroll rod.
