The present invention relates to wind breaks and, more particularly, to a wind break chair wrap.
Wind blowing across a person sitting in a chair can be very uncomfortable. There are currently no wind breaks that attach to a chair.
As can be seen, there is a need for a wind break article that attaches to a chair.
In one aspect of the present invention, a wind break chair wrap comprises a fabric body including a central rear panel with a first edge and a second edge, a first side panel joined at the first edge, and a second side panel joined at the second edge, wherein the first side panel and the second side panel each have a front edge with a tapered upper edge extending from the central panel to the front edge; and tie fasteners stitched to the front edges of the first and the second side panels.
These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description, and claims.
FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of a wind breaker according to an embodiment of the present invention, shown in use; and
FIG. 2 is a side front perspective view thereof.
The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
Broadly, one embodiment of the present invention is a fabric wind break chair wrap, which keeps wind off a person sitting in the chair.
The chair wrap may be fastened to the chair with tie fasteners. For example, two tie fasteners may be provided on each side panel at a front edge adjacent to a front of the chair. The fasteners may extend from a first point proximate a bottom edge of the side panel and a second point spaced above the first point.
In some embodiments, bamboo poles may be sewn into the unit to keep it standing. The pole may be a vertical reinforcement pole joined to the fabric body of the chair wrap at junctions between panels.
Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a wind breaker 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention, formed of a fabric windscreen 12, is shown mounted on a lawn chair 11A and fastened with ties 16. The wind breaker 10 wraps around the sides of the chair 11A, protecting the occupant 11B from wind. Each corner of the fabric windscreen 12 has a bamboo pole 14A, 14B holding the wind breaker 10 upright. The bamboo poles 14A at the rear of the chair 11A are taller than the bamboo poles 14B at the front of the chair 11A.
It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
1. A wind break chair wrap, comprising:
a fabric body including a central rear panel with a first edge and a second edge, a first side panel joined at the first edge, and a second side panel joined at the second edge, wherein the first side panel and the second side panel each have a front edge with a tapered upper edge extending from the central panel to the front edge; and
tie fasteners stitched to the front edges of the first and the second side panels.
2. The wind break chair wrap of claim 1, wherein the tie fasteners extend from the front edges at a first point proximate a bottom edge of each of the first and the second side panels and from a second point spaced above the first point.
3. The wind break chair wrap of claim 1, further comprising vertical reinforcement poles joined to the fabric body at junctions of the central rear panel with the first and the second side panels and at the front edges of the first and the second side panels.
4. The wind break chair wrap of claim 3, wherein the vertical reinforcement poles are formed of bamboo.
