FIELD OF INVENTION

The present application relates to a tail comb hairstyling tool with a retractable tail that can be easily extended or retracted using a toggle that slides vertically on the spine of the comb.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A traditional tail comb is a hairstyling tool that is used to create precise partings and sections in the hair. It typically consists of a long, narrow handle with a pointed tail at one end and a row of teeth on the other end. However, the traditional tail comb has limitations in terms of its safety, functionality, and convenience. For example, the tail can be easily broken off during use or when transporting. The tail can also get in the way while in use, get tangled in the hair, and can cause injuries to the user or their clients. Therefore, there is a need for an improved tail comb that addresses these common issues.

SUMMARY

By providing a tail comb with a retractable tail, the limitations of traditional tail combs will be addressed in terms of safety, functionality, and convenience by reducing the risk of tool breakage, hair tangling, and injury during use or transport.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention is a tail comb that combines the functionality of a traditional tail comb with the convenience of a retractable tail and a toggle on the spine. The comb is composed of several key components, including a spine, a row of teeth or comb bristles, a retractable tail, a sliding toggle positioned on the spine, and a secure latch lock mechanism. Within the spine lies a hollow chamber that serves as the housing for the retractable tail, allowing it to seamlessly retract and extend as needed. This retractable tail (FIG. 4) positioned opposite the comb bristles (FIG. 1), can be effortlessly maneuvered using the sliding toggle mechanism. With the use of a sliding toggle (FIG. 5), the tail is designed to slide in and out of the hollow chamber (FIG. 3) located inside of the spine (FIG. 2) and can be locked in place using a mechanism such as a spring-loaded button, a twist-lock, or a latch lock (FIG. 6). When the retractable tail is extended, it surpasses the length of the comb's teeth, acting as an extension of the handle. This unique feature facilitates effortless parting and manipulation of the hair, enhancing user experience and versatility during the styling process.

Claims

1. A tail comb comprising:

1. The Comb Bristles adjacent to the spine.

2. The Spine of the Comb.

3. The Tail Hollow Chamber (Inside of the Spine).

4. The Retractable Tail inside of the spine's hollow chamber.

5. The Sliding Toggle (which controls the retractability of the tail).

6. The Latch Lock, also located on the spine of the comb, locks the tail in the extended or retracted position.
