The present invention relates generally to a paddle for playing Pickleball or beach tennis. In particular, the invention relates to a new hand-attached paddle that is more ergonomic and comfortable to use than traditional paddles with handles.
Pickleball and beach tennis are popular sports that are played with paddles and balls on a court. Traditional paddles for Pickleball and beach tennis have a handle that the user grips with their hand. However, these handles can be uncomfortable and cumbersome, especially for players with small or weak hands. Additionally, the handle can interfere with the user's wrist and forearm rotation, limiting their range of motion and reducing the power and accuracy of their shots.
The present invention provides a new hand-attached paddle that overcomes the drawbacks of traditional paddle handles. The paddle has a surface area of 9 2β³Γ10β³ and a thickness of 0.9β³. Unlike traditional paddles, the new paddle has no handle but rather a rear support system comprised of silicon for the middle finger and a Velcro strap for the wrist. The paddle is specifically designed for Pickleball-style games, such as PaddleZlam, beach tennis, and other similar games.
The paddle is sculpted in such a way that it conforms and is molded to the shape of the user's hand. This enables the user to hold the paddle more securely and comfortably, while also allowing for increased wrist and forearm rotation. The silicon loop on the middle finger and the Velcro strap on the wrist provide additional support and stability, further enhancing the user's grip and control.
The following detailed description of the invention refers to the accompanying drawings which illustrate specific embodiments of the invention. Other embodiments of the invention are possible, and modifications may be made to the embodiments within the spirit and scope of the invention.
The hand-attached paddle of the present invention has a unique design that departs from traditional paddle handles. The paddle measures 9 2β³Γ10β³ in surface area and has a thickness of 0.9β³. As shown in FIG. A, the paddle has a front hitting surface 10 and a rear gripping surface. The paddle does not have a handle, but rather has a rear support system that attaches to the user's hand.
As shown in FIG. AA, the rear support system comprises two holes for future silicon loop for the middle finger and standoffs for the wrist support attachment. The loop and strap are attached to the rear gripping surface of the paddle. The silicon loop is positioned such that it fits snugly around the middle finger, providing additional support and stability. The Velcro strap is positioned so that it can be tightened or loosened to fit any size wrist, further enhancing the user's grip and control. The silicon strap and Velcro support is not included on the diagram as we have no claim to these products which can be interchangeable.
As shown in FIGS. AA and BB, the paddle is sculpted in such a way that it conforms and is molded to the shape of the user's hand. The rear gripping surface has a concave shape that mirrors the curve of the hand. The surface also has a textured pattern that increases grip and reduces slipping. The combination of the silicon loop, Velcro strap, and molded surface enables the user to hold the paddle more securely and comfortably than traditional paddle handles.
While the above description has been with reference to embodiments of the invention, it will be appreciated that various changes in form and detail can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. For example, the paddle can be made of various materials, such as composite materials that are lightweight and resilient. Additionally, the securing means of the paddle can be detachable from the paddle body for ease of cleaning and maintenance.
1. A paddle for playing pickleball or beach tennis, comprising:
a) a lightweight, elongated body having a front hitting surface and a rear gripping surface, and
b) a securing means for attaching the paddle to the user's hand on the rear gripping surface, said securing means comprising a silicon loop for the middle finger and a Velcro strap for the wrist.
2. The paddle of claim 1, wherein the rear gripping surface of the body has a concave shape to conform to the user's hand.
3. The paddle of claim 1, wherein the rear gripping surface has a textured pattern to increase grip and reduce slipping.
4. The paddle of claim 1, wherein the securing means further comprises an adjustable strap for tightening or loosening the fit of the paddle on the user's hand.
5. The paddle of claim 1, wherein the front hitting surface has a resin coating for increased durability and spin control.
6. The paddle of claim 1, wherein the body is made of composite materials that are lightweight and resilient.
7. The paddle of claim 1, wherein the securing means is detachable from the paddle body for ease of cleaning and maintenance.
