The disclosure relates to punching bags or exercise bags and more particularly pertains to a new octagonal punching bag arrangement for boxing or martial arts training. Most punching bags have a basic cylindrical shape and thus do not provide a variety of striking exercises that would be beneficial to boxers and martial artists.
The prior art relates to punching bags or exercise bags. The prior art, as best understood, does not disclose an octagonal punching bag arrangement with head and body portions connected by a tapered or angled connecting portion.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above in an octagonal punching bag arrangement that generally includes a body portion, a head portion, and a connecting portion. The body portion is designed to simulate a human body and is in the shape of an octagonal prism. The head portion is designed to simulate a human head and is in the shape of an octagonal prism. The connecting portion is positioned to connect the head portion to the body portion. The connecting portion is in the shape of an octagonal pyramidal prism tapering inwardly starting at the bottom outer edges of the head portion and ending at a central section of the body portion. Such a design provides a user, such as a boxer or martial artist, with a variety of differently oriented striking surfaces to permit the user to practice different strikes.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.
There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
