BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

While there have been many Christmas ornaments over the years, there has never been pig ornament tied to a future promise for the recipient.

In the following description, numerous specific details are set forth to clearly describe various specific embodiments disclosed herein. One skilled in the art, however, will understand that the presently claimed invention may be practiced without all of the specific details discussed below. In other instances, well known features have not been described so as not to obscure the invention.

As described herein, the term “pivotally connected” shall be used to describe a situation wherein two or more identified objects are joined together in a manner that allows one or both of the objects to pivot, and/or rotate about or in relation to the other object in either a horizontal or vertical manner.

As described herein, the term “removably coupled” and derivatives thereof shall be used to describe a situation wherein two or more objects are joined together in a non-permanent manner so as to allow the same objects to be repeatedly joined and separated.

The present subject matter is known as the Promise Pig. The concept is that of a pig ornament with a pouch for the giver to place a note inside. The note is to comprise of a future promise for the recipient. The recipient or owner of the pig is exclusive and does not change. In future holiday seasons, a promised gift can be given by the same or different benefactor but only to the designated owner of the ornament.

The present subject matter is a 5.5″ in length, 3.5″ in width, and 3.5″ in height faux red velvet pig ornament with pocket wherein the giver may place a note. In some embodiments, the present subject may be constructed of wood or glass as opposed to fabric. The Promise Pig is intended to be a vehicle to begin a Christmas tradition to span generations wherein the present subject matter is a tree ornament which holds a promise from one person to another.

The giver writes a promise they will fulfil during the next year and places it into the pig's pocket. The Promise Pig is a onetime promise and ornament or can become the device for yearly or sporadic promises between friends, extended or nuclear family during the next year (or any specified time frame). The promise pig may also be adapted for other gift-giving situations such as birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.
