Smart Summary: A new card game is created for 2 to 5 players, featuring a deck of 70 cards in 15 colors and 10 special action cards. Players aim to collect matching sets of colors while using special cards to challenge their opponents. The game includes a scoring system that rewards strategic play and can be expanded for more players by adding extra color sets. To win, a player must form three valid sets and say “Triple Threes.” The overall winner is the first player to reach 100 points. 🚀 TL;DR

Card games; Card games combined with other games with a written message or sentence, e.g. chance or instruction cards
The present invention relates generally to card games and, more particularly, to a strategic card game involving set collection, competitive interactions, and a unique probability-based scoring system.
Traditional card games such as Rummy, Poker, and Uno involve various forms of set collection, discarding, and strategic play. However, these games lack a structured method where color-coded sets and a unique scoring system influence gameplay depth and decision-making.
While existing games rely on drawing, discarding, and fixed set rules, they do not provide a dynamic system where players must balance strategic set collection while managing a limited hand size and optimizing point calculations. There is a need for a novel card game that enhances player engagement through a structured, probability-based scoring system and an exciting win condition requiring strategic planning and adaptability.
The present invention aims to solve these limitations by introducing a unique multi-set formation mechanism, limited card holding, and a rewarding probability-based scoring system, increasing both replayability and strategic depth.
The present invention provides a novel card game played with a deck of 70 cards divided into 15 colors, with each color containing four cards marked with a unique value from 1 to 15. Additionally, the deck includes 10 special cards, consisting of:
The game is designed for 2 to 5 players and requires players to strategically form three sets of three cards of three different colors before declaring “Triple Threes.”
Before the game begins, the 60 color cards are shuffled, and each player is dealt 10 cards. The remaining color cards are then mixed with the 10 special cards, shuffled again, and used as the draw pile for the game.
Players take turns drawing a card either from the draw pile or the discard pile. They can then choose to discard the drawn card or keep it, discarding another card from their 10-card hand limit. Players must form three sets of three cards from different colors to win the game.
If there are more than two players, any exchange, forced exchange, or forced swap of cards is made with the player to the right. This rule applies to both force swap and force exchange cards.
The game can be expanded to accommodate more players by adding additional color sets. For each additional player, three full color sets (12 cards) must be introduced, ensuring balanced gameplay. For example, with 15 color sets (60 cards), the game can accommodate up to 5 players. To allow 8 players, for example, an additional 9 color sets (36 cards) would need to be added. This expansion allows the game to scale beyond five players while maintaining the strategic depth and competitive structure.
A key feature of the game is that each color set consists of four cards, but players only need to form sets of three cards to win. This mechanic improves the probability of completing sets, making the game more dynamic and entertaining. If two players each hold two cards of the same color, they may unknowingly be competing for the third card in the draw or discard pile, creating an exciting and unpredictable battle as they struggle to complete their sets first.
Winning occurs when a player successfully forms three valid sets and declares “Triple Threes.” At the end of the game, the total score is calculated based on the numerical values of the collected sets, with a bonus of 5 points awarded for forming a complete four-card color set. A new game is played after the score is noted, and the first player to reach 100 points wins the overall game.
The game consists of a deck comprising 70 total cards, where 60 are standard color-coded cards, and 10 are special action cards. Each color-coded card has a unique scoring value from 1 to 15.
1. A card game comprising:
a) A deck of 70 cards, consisting of 60 color-coded cards and 10 special action cards;
b) A game structure that requires players to form three sets of three matching-colored cards to win;
c) A probability-based deck distribution where each color has four total cards, but players only need three to form a set;
d) Special action cards that introduce wildcards, forced swaps, forced exchanges, and declaration mechanics;
e) A gameplay strategy where players compete for the same color sets without knowing their opponent's hands, creating competitive tension.
2. The card game of claim 1, wherein additional color sets may be incorporated into the deck to expand the number of players beyond five, maintaining a ratio of three full color sets (12 cards) per player.
3. The card game of claim 1, wherein winning occurs upon a player forming three valid sets and declaring ‘Triple Threes.’
4. The card game of claim 1, wherein each player is restricted to holding no more than cards at any time.
5. The card game of claim 1, wherein a bonus scoring system grants 5 extra points for collecting all four cards of a specific color.
6. The card game of claim 1, wherein the first player to 100 points is declared the overall winner.
7. The card game of claim 1, wherein the game includes a unique two-phase shuffling process, where standard color-coded cards are shuffled separately before special cards are introduced into the draw pile.
8. The card game of claim 1, wherein forced exchanges and swaps occur only with the player to the right in multiplayer settings.
