Description

FIELD

The invention relates generally to a device consisting of two flexible strips of metal or plastic, also known as tapes, with interlocking projections, also known as teeth, closed or opened by pulling a slide along them, by pulling the slide along closes and opening by drawing the teeth together, used to fasten garments, bags, and other items. This system assembly is commonly known as a zipper. The zipper contains a pull device that allows for the slide to advance and retract, in the present invention the slide pull is a decorative ornament that locks to the slide and is removable and interchangeable.

BACKGROUND

Since the invention of the zipper, a device consisting of two flexible strips (or tape) of metal or plastic with interlocking projections (or teeth) closed or opened by pulling a slide along them, used to fasten garments, bags, and other items. Many inventors have attempted to include decretive and ornamental features such as U.S. Pub. No. 2023/0380548 to Lu having space on pull for customer logo illustrations and requirements, and U.S. Pat. No. 5,136,758 to Wilcox et al. suspending a decretive design element from a tether attached to the slide or pull. In the present invention the investor has formed an attachment member to the slide to allow for attachment of an ornament or decoration and for that ornament to be used a as a pull. The ornament will lock in place and also be changeable if owner of the system chooses to change the ornament.
