BACKGROUND

This inventive subject matter is an undergarment specifically directed for a male wearer that includes the following features: single-body construction incorporating a unique thrust dynamic that adjusts the scrotum forward for maximum comfort; extension of the penis through an opening maintains the advancement of the scrotum while also allowing for the cool comfort of separation; protection of the exposed penis with a draped cover panel for both safety and hygiene; and elimination of fabric gathering within the posterior cleft serves to benefit the wearer specifically with improved scrotum protection, reduced binding, cool comfort and increased freedom of movement.

Briefs generally contain a separate crotch panel that cradles the scrotum, and most include various folded mechanisms through which to retrieve the penis, while others provide pouches and separations, both with or without openings. While the inclusion of a separate crotch panel allows additional room for the scrotum, combining this available space with gravity and circumstance can result in painful pinching of the testicles, particularly when sitting.

Conventional brief designs also confine the penis and scrotum within the same space, which can cause perspiration, chaffing, raised testicular temperatures and overall discomfort to the wearer. Utilizing a single-body construction creates a forward momentum which is further enhanced by a simple line of stitching (FIG. 11), that, combined with extension of the penis, serves to draw the scrotum forward, thereby cooling and improving overall comfort for the wearer.

Boxers provide a sense of unrestricted freedom, while briefs provide support. This innovation incorporates both aspects by supporting the scrotum, while allowing the penis to move unrestricted beneath the cover panel that simply tucks into the outwear, as one would tuck in a shirt-front.

The placement of elastic that forms the leg openings (FIG. 11) creates a dynamic tension that acts to deter the uncomfortable collection of fabric within the posterior cleft of the buttocks, which has been a common complaint, and also creates an effective barrier between the thighs and the scrotum to reduce heat and friction.

The functionality of the loin cloth is centuries old, and this invention now incorporates the safety and support of a brief for truly unprecedented comfort.

Prior art demonstrates separation of the penis and scrotum from the thighs, and separation of both the penis and scrotum through an opening with affixed covers that range from fully attached to waistband attachments. This invention differentiates through utilization of a single-body construction to overcomes multiple challenges by employing simple dynamic tension for true comfort and ease of movement.

There remains a need for a male undergarment that reduces painful pinching and uncomfortable gathering, while enhancing ventilation and comfort for the wearer.

SUMMARY

The inventive subject matter is an undergarment designed specifically for the male gender that encircles the lower torso, and specifically employs the dynamic tension of single-body construction coupled with elasticized leg openings independently affix to the waistband, to serve three distinct purposes: 1) draws the scrotum forward to prevent uncomfortable pinching of the testicles; 2) increases cooling and comfort of testicles by separating thighs, scrotum and penis; and 3) prevents the gathering of fabric within cleft of the buttocks.

This invention incorporates a simple elasticized brief covering the buttocks, wherein the placement and attachment of said elastic serves to hold the fabric taunt, thereby preventing the unwanted gathering of fabric in the posterior cleft. Single-body construction plus a soft barrier of stitching draws the scrotum forward, which is further enhanced by extension of the penis through lined opening at the front of the garment.

The primary embodiment of the inventive subject matter includes a protective panel extending from the waistband to cover the front portion of the garment thereby shielding the penis for purposes of safety and hygiene. Subsequent embodiments describe alternate designs of said front panel, several of which designate said panel as a separate attachment. Therefore, one embodiment involves the brief with the lined opening as a singular garment, maintaining that the overall construction of the brief is in itself is key to the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

    • 1) Fold fabric lengthwise along center 1. (FIG. 11)
    • 2) Cut fabric, maintaining center fold to replicate pattern. (FIG. 11)
    • 3) Stitch Flap 2 to Flap 3 along outer edge between Point 4 and Point 5 to form a sleeve section. (FIG. 11)
    • 4) Reverse sleeve and flatten, center seam over opening 6. (FIG. 11)
    • 5) Fold sleeve along seam to expose opening and trim excess fabric to match existing opening 6. (FIG. 11)
    • 6) Pipe the opening with fabric 7 folded into four layers, and then placed between the two layers that form the sleeve portion, with the smooth edge of the piping exposed within the opening 6. (FIG. 11)
    • 7) Feed thin elastics 8 and 9 through the sleeve on either side of the opening 6, maintaining the gap (approximately five inches) between the tails 11 for later attachment to the waistband 12.
    • 8) Stitch thin elastics 8 and 9 along outer edge from points 13 and 14 to point 11. (FIG. 11)
    • 9) Run a line of stitching 15 across the narrowest point between to include thin elastic 8 and 9.
    • 10) Hem edges of front panel 10. (FIG. 11)
    • 11) Fold Point 13 and Point 14 forward and tack to respective ends at Point 11, with Front Panel 10 now draping the front of the garment. (FIG. 1)
    • 12) Stitch the lower portion of the waistband 12 to the inside of the garment.
    • 13) Flip the stitched waistband 12 forward for final stitching from the exterior of the garment.
