Smart Summary: An awning with retractable arms has a main sunshade body and two arms that can move. These arms are connected by a hinge in the middle, with a front bar at the ends. Each arm has two tubes, one inside the other, and a gas spring is placed inside the outer tube. This gas spring helps the arm extend and retract smoothly. The design allows for easy opening and closing of the awning when needed. πŸš€ TL;DR

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present disclosure relates to the technical field of awning members for vehicles, and in particular, to an awning with retractable arms.

BACKGROUND

An existing vehicle-mounted awning generally adopts a crank arm design, and the extension size when the awning is unfolded is smaller, resulting in a smaller sunshade area. In the commonly used design of two sections of crank arms, a maximum size of the awning is related to an unfolded size of the arm. Generally, due to size limitation of an awning with a width of two meters, a final extended size when two sections of arms are used is about 1.5 meters, which ultimately leads to a relatively small sunshade area and not high space utilization rate.

SUMMARY

A purpose of the present disclosure is to solve the above problem, and an awning with retractable arms is provided. A retractable section is added to a front arm of an existing crank arm, thereby increasing a sunshade area.

The technical scheme adopted in the present disclosure is as follows.

An awning with retractable arms includes an awning body and two arms hinged to the awning body. A front bar is disposed at front ends of the two arms. The arm includes a front arm and a rear arm connected by using a middle hinge. The front arm includes an outer tube and an inner tube. The inner tube is inserted into the outer tube. A gas spring is disposed inside the outer tube. A length of the inner tube corresponds to a retractable arm of the gas spring. A tail end of the gas spring is fixed to the middle hinge. The retractable arm is fixed into the inner tube. A front end of the retractable arm is connected to the front bar by using a front hinge.

Further, the middle hinge includes a female hinge and a male hinge that are hinged and matched with each other. The female hinge is disposed at a front end of the rear arm, and the male hinge is disposed at the tail end of the gas spring.

Further, a tail plug is disposed at a tail portion of the inner tube, and the tail plug is in sliding fit with an inner wall of the outer tube.

Further, a decorative cover is fixed to a front end of the outer tube, and an outer wall of the inner tube is in sliding fit with the decorative cover.

Further, a canopy pulled out from the awning body is matched and fixed with the front bar.

The present disclosure has the following beneficial effects.

The awning is driven by the gas spring, so that the front arm of the awning can realize retractable movement of two sections. Compared with a general crank arm awning with two arms, the extended size can be increased by 50%, thereby increasing a sunshade area.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

The following describes an awning with retractable arms in specific embodiments of the present disclosure with reference to the attached figures.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, two arms 2 are hinged to an awning body 1 of an awning. The two arms 2 can be folded and unfolded to form an awning frame. A front bar 3 is disposed at front ends of the two arms 2. A canopy 4 is connected to the front bar to form the awning. The awning can be driven by hand pulling, a gear box, a motor, or the like during connection.

Referring to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the arm 2 includes a front arm 6 and a rear arm 7 connected by using a middle hinge 5. A female hinge 8 of the middle hinge 5 is disposed at a front end of the rear arm 7. The front arm 6 includes an outer tube 9 and an inner tube 10. The inner tube 10 is inserted into the outer tube 9. A gas spring 11 is disposed in the outer tube 9. A length of the inner tube 10 corresponds to a retractable arm 12 of the gas spring 11. A tail end of the gas spring 11 is fixed to a male hinge 13 of the middle hinge 5. The retractable arm 12 of the gas spring 11 is fixed into the inner tube 10, and a front end of the retractable arm 12 is connected to the front bar 3 by using a front hinge 14.

A tail plug 15 is disposed at a tail portion of the inner tube 10, and the tail plug 15 is in sliding fit with an inner wall of the outer tube 9. A decorative cover 16 is fixed to a front end of the outer tube 9, and an outer wall of the inner tube 10 is in sliding fit with the decorative cover 16.

The following takes the hand-pulling driven canopy as an example to illustrate a working process of an arm of the awning.

When the awning is opened for use, the front and rear arms 7 are unfolded to form a frame, and the gas spring 11 is driven to extend the inner tube 10 of the front arm 6 to lengthen the length of the frame. And then, the canopy 4 is pulled out from the awning body 1 to be fixed to the front bar 3. When the awning is folded, the canopy 4 is first retracted into the awning body 1, and then the gas spring 11 is driven to retract the inner tube 10 of the front arm 6, and then the front arm 6 is closed and retracted into the awning body 1.

The foregoing descriptions are merely example implementations of the present disclosure. It should be noted that a person of ordinary skill in the art may make several improvements or polishing without departing from the principle of the present disclosure and the improvements or polishing shall fall within the protection scope of the present disclosure.
