Description

FIELD

Some implementations relate generally to game devices, and, more particularly, to reusable drawing game boards and systems.

BACKGROUND

Some organizations use drawing or raffle games as an exciting way to raise money for the organization. Such drawing games can include the Queen of Hearts game and other similar games.

The playing board for drawing games is typically a single use board that includes a number of sealed sections. Once a player wins the grand prize, the board is discarded, and a new board is purchased for the next game. A need may exist for a reusable drawing game board that is reusable and, at the same time, provides similar security features to single-use boards.

Embodiments were conceived in light of the above-mentioned problems and limitations, among other things. The background description provided herein is for the purpose of generally presenting the context of the disclosure. Work of the presently named inventor, to the extent it is described in this background section, as well as aspects of the description that may not otherwise qualify as prior art at the time of filing, are neither expressly nor impliedly admitted as prior art against the present disclosure.

SUMMARY

Some implementations can include a drawing game board comprising a backing member and one or more rows each containing one or more sequentially numbered pockets attached to the backing member, wherein each numbered pocket includes a front face bearing a number corresponding to the corresponding pocket, a first side element, a second side element, and a bottom element, and wherein each pocket includes an open top.

In some implementations, each of the one or more rows have a same number of sequentially numbered pockets. In some implementations, the one or more rows includes a plurality of rows. In some implementations, at least one of the one plurality of rows has a different number of sequentially numbered pockets than another one of the plurality of rows.

In some implementations, the sequentially numbered pockets of the plurality of rows are arranged in one or more columns. In some implementations, each of the one or more columns have a same number of sequentially numbered pockets.

In some implementations, the one or more columns includes a plurality of columns. In some implementations, at least one of the one plurality of columns has a different number of sequentially numbered pockets than another one of the plurality of columns.

In some implementations, the front face is formed from a transparent material. In some implementations, the front face is formed from an opaque material.

In some implementations, the backing member is formed from a first material and the front face, the first side element, the second side element, and the bottom element are formed from a second material different from the first material. In some implementations, the first material includes a foam board material, and the second material includes a plastic material.

In some implementations, the backing member is formed from a first material and the front face, the first side element, the second side element, and the bottom element are formed from the first material.

In some implementations, the drawing game board can further comprise a plurality of sealed envelopes each containing a different playing card, wherein the number of sealed envelopes corresponds to a number of the one or more sequentially numbered pockets such that one envelope can be placed into each sequentially numbered pocket to facilitate a drawing game.

In some implementations, at a conclusion of a first drawing game, the drawing game board can be reused by providing a new set of sealed envelopes having a number corresponding to the number of the one or more sequentially numbered pockets such that one envelope of the new set of envelopes can be placed into each sequentially numbered pocket of the drawing game board to facilitate a drawing game.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an example reusable drawing game board 100 in accordance with some implementations. The reusable drawing game board 100 includes a backing material 102 (foam board, wood, plastic, or other suitable material) and a plurality of columns 104-120 arranged in a plurality of rows 122-132. The columns and rows contain sequentially numbered pockets constructed to hold a sealed envelope with a playing card inside the sealed envelope. In the example of FIG. 1 there are 54 sequentially numbered pockets that correspond to a deck of cards having 52 numbered or face cards and two joker cards.

In operation, the sequentially numbered pockets of the reusable drawing game board 100 can be loaded with a sealed envelope containing one of the 54 playing cards as shown in FIG. 2, where 202 is one of the sealed envelopes, which are represented by the dashed line rectangles.

Once the sealed envelopes are in place in the sequentially numbered pockets, the game can proceed by players obtaining tickets (e.g., by purchasing the tickets). Each ticket can include a first portion that the player can keep and a second portion that is kept and placed into container to draw from. A drawing is held in which a ticket is drawn from the container. The person who holds the corresponding part of the ticket can then select one of the sequentially numbered pockets. The sealed envelope from the sequentially numbered pocket selected by the drawing winner can then be opened and the playing card inside revealed. In some games, a given card is the jackpot winner (e.g., the Queen of Hearts) and other cards may win lesser prizes. The game continues until someone wins the jackpot, which is typically a 50-50 jackpot based on ticket purchases.

It will be appreciated that the drawing game/raffle described above is just one example. The reusable drawing game board described herein can be used for a variety of games having various rules of play.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing an example reusable drawing game board 100 with sealed envelopes 202 inserted into sequentially number pockets in accordance with some implementations.

FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a cut away side view of a sequentially numbered pocket with a sealed envelope being inserted in accordance with some implementations. In particular, FIG. 3 shows the backing material 102, front face 302, and a bottom element 304, and an open top 310. FIG. 3 also shows a sealed envelope 306 containing a playing card 308 being inserted into the pocket. The front face can include a transparent material (e.g., plastic), semi-transparent material, or opaque material.

FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a cut away side view of a sequentially numbered pocket with the sealed envelope 306 inserted in accordance with some implementations.

FIG. 5 is a diagram showing an example reusable drawing game board having sequentially numbered pockets 104/106 with transparent front face material such that the sealed envelopes 202 and 503 are visible.

FIG. 6 is a diagram showing an example reusable drawing game board 602 having columns (604-624) and rows (626-636) with different numbers of sequentially numbered pockets in some columns and rows.

FIG. 7 is a diagram showing a cut away top view of a sequentially numbered pocket in which a first side 702 and a second side 704 of a sequentially numbered pocket is visible. The first and second sides can be formed from plastic, foam board, wood, or any suitable material.

While some example implementations have been described in terms of a general embodiment with several specific example modifications, it is recognized that other modifications and variations of the embodiments described above are within the spirit and scope of the disclosed subject matter. Applicant intends to embrace any and all such modifications, variations and embodiments.
