The invention relates to a chin strap for helmets with a first main strap which can be fastened to the helmet to be secured, with a second main strap can be fastened to the helmet to be secured and with a chin strap which connects both main straps, wherein at least a first strap buckle is provided on one of the main straps. The strap buckle is used to manually open or close the chin strap or the main strap. In most cases, so-called strap clips are used, which have two spring-loaded retaining lugs that lock in a guide after insertion.
We already know of chin straps for helmets that are usually equipped with just one strap buckle that is closed manually to secure the helmet after it has been put on.
The invention is based on the task of designing and arranging a chin strap for helmets in such a way that improved comfort and easier handling are ensured.
According to the invention, the problem is solved in that at least one second strap buckle is provided, each of the two main straps having a strap buckle. This makes it easier to put on and take off the chin strap. The main strap can be opened on the right or left side in order to prevent a collision with parts of a headset or a connection cable of the headset when putting it on. In addition, the position of the main strap relative to the headset can be freely selected after donning.
The task is also solved by a system consisting of a protective helmet and a chin strap as described above. Advantageously, the system has a headset with a microphone.
It can also be advantageous if the respective main strap has a cheek strap and a neck strap, whereby the respective neck strap has the strap buckle. The buckle on the neck strap ensures the greatest comfort. When donning, at least one neck strap can be opened to prevent a collision with parts of a headset, such as the ear cup in particular.
It can also be advantageous if the respective cheek strap has a buckle. This also makes it easier to put on and take off. When donning, at least one cheek strap can be opened to prevent a collision with parts of a headset, in particular the microphone or a connection cable.
It can also be advantageous if the respective cheek strap and the respective neck strap have a buckle. This allows the chin strap to be detached from both sides of the main strap. In addition, the position of the microphone can be freely selected when using a headset. The integration of the microphone when tightening the chin strap is also simplified. During donning, at least one cheek strap and at least one neck strap can be opened to prevent a collision with parts of a headset. It is also possible to open both neck straps in order to completely prevent a collision with the ear cup. After putting on the helmet, both neck straps and one of the cheek straps can be closed. At least the position of the cheek strap relative to the headset or microphone and connection cable can be freely selected.
It may advantageously be provided that at least four adjustment tabs are pro-vided for adjusting the strap length, with each cheek strap and each neck strap having one adjustment tab each. This ensures optimum adjustment to the head.
In addition, it may be advantageous that the respective strap buckle is provided at the end, in the area where the chin strap is connected. This means that once the helmet has been fitted, the respective strap can be positioned relative to the headset and/or a connection cable of the headset by means of its free end. It can be threaded from top to bottom. The free end always hangs downwards and is therefore easy to reach.
Further advantages and details of the invention are explained in the patent claims and in the description and shown in the figures. It shows:
FIG. 1 a chin strap;
FIG. 1a a chin strap with cheek strap;
FIG. 2 a chin strap with two buckles;
FIG. 3 a system consisting of a protection helmet and chin strap
The chin strap 1 for helmets 7 shown in FIG. 1 has a first main strap 1.1, which can be fastened to the helmet 7 to be secured. It also has a second main strap 1.2, which can also be fastened to the helmet to be secured. In addition, a chin strap 1.3 is provided, which connects the two main straps 1.1 at the ends.
The respective main strap 1.1 has a cheek strap 3.1, 4.1 and a neck strap 3.2, 4.2, whereby the respective cheek strap and the respective neck strap 3.2, 4.2 have a strap buckle 2.1, 2.2, 6.1, 6.2. The respective strap buckle 2.1, 2.2, 6.1, 6.2 is located at the end, in the area where the chin strap is connected.
In addition, four adjustment tabs 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 are provided for adjusting the strap length, whereby each cheek strap 3.1, 4.1 and each neck strap 3.2, 4.2 has an adjustment tab 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4.
At the upper end of the respective cheek strap 3.1, 4.1 or neck strap 3.2, 4.2 there are mounting eyelets 9 for fastening to a helmet 7.
According to embodiment example FIG. 1a, the respective main strap 1.1 has only one cheek strap 3.1, 4.1, whereby the respective cheek strap has a strap buckle 6.1, 6.2. The respective strap buckle 6.1, 6.2 is also located at the end, in the area where the chin strap 1.3 is connected. A neck strap is not provided.
According to embodiment example FIG. 2, a strap buckle 2.1, 2.2 is only provided on the respective neck strap 3.2, 4.2. The respective cheek strap 3.1, 4.1 is without a buckle.
The example in FIG. 3 shows a system consisting of a protective helmet 7 and a chin strap 1 as well as a headset 8 with microphone 8.1. The cheek strap 4.1 can be adapted to an outer or inner position of the microphone by means of the strap buckle 6.2. The same applies to the neck strap 3.2, 4.2 with regard to the positioning of the system. The neck strap 3.2, 4.2 can be opened for donning in order to avoid a collision with the respective ear cup 8.2 of the headset 8. The neck strap 3.2, 4.2 and/or the cheek strap 4.1 can only be closed after donning. At least the position of the cheek strap 4.1 relative to the headset or the microphone 8.1 and the connection cable 8.3 can be freely selected.
