The present disclosure relates to various embodiments of a duvet system including a duvet cover, a duvet insert, and one or more fasteners detachably connecting the duvet cover to the duvet insert. The coupling between the duvet insert and the duvet cover via the one or more fasteners is configured to maintain the duvet insert in place (e.g., the coupling between the duvet insert and the duvet cover is configured to prevent or at least mitigate the duvet inset from bunching up inside the duvet cover).

With reference now to FIGS. 1A-1B, a duvet cover 100 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes an upper (top) edge 101, a lower (bottom) edge 102, a left side edge 103, and a right side edge 104. Additionally, in the illustrated embodiment, the duvet cover 100 also includes a zipper 105 along the lower edge 102. In one or more embodiments, the zipper 105 may extend along the entirety (or substantially the entirety) of the lower edge 102. Additionally, in one or more embodiments, the duvet cover 100 may include zipper hoods at opposite ends of the zipper 105. In one or more embodiments, the zipper 105 may be a two-way zipper (i.e., the zipper 105 may include two zipper pulls configured to engage the teeth). In one or more embodiments, the zipper 105 may be a reverse coil zipper in which the tape side faces outward. The duvet cover 100 defines an interior pocket 106 configured to accommodate the duvet insert 200. The interior pocket 106 of the duvet cover 100 is accessible by opening the zipper 105 along the lower edge 102 of the duvet cover 100.

In the illustrated embodiment, the duvet cover 100 also includes a plurality of fasteners 107 spaced apart from each other. In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 107 may be integral with the duvet cover 100 or separate from the duvet cover 100. The fasteners 107 may include one or more sockets, one or more studs, or a combination of one or more sockets and one or more studs. Additionally, optionally, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 107 may include one or more socket caps and/or one or more stud caps. For instance, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 107 of the duvet cover 100 may include one or more sockets and one or more socket caps configured to attach to the one or more sockets. In some embodiments, one, two, three, or four fasteners 107 (e.g., sockets or studs) may be disposed along the upper edge 101 of the duvet cover 100. In some embodiments, there may be no fasteners 107 (e.g., no sockets or studs) along lower edge 102 other than those disposed at the corners and that happen to be proximal to the lower edge 102.

In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 107 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or the one or more studs, and optionally one or more socket caps and/or one or more stud caps) are formed of (or include) plastic (e.g., the fasteners 107 may be plastic garment snaps). In some embodiments, the fasteners 107 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or one or more studs, and optionally the one or more socket caps and/or the one or more stud caps) are in a range from approximately 0.5 centimeter (cm) wide to approximately 1.5 cm wide. In some embodiments, the fasteners 107 (e.g., the one or more sockets, one or more studs, one or more socket caps, and/or one or more stud caps) may be YKK sockets, studs, or caps. In some embodiments, the socket caps and stud caps may be similar or substantially the same.

In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 107 may be equidistantly (or substantially equidistantly) spaced apart from each other (i.e., the fasteners 107 may be spaced at regular or substantially regular intervals). For example, the two closest sockets to a given socket may be spaced in the same amount (or substantially the same amount) from the given socket. Similarly, in one or more embodiments, the two closest studs to a given stud may be spaced in the same amount (or substantially the same amount) from the given stud. In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 107 may be spaced apart from each other at two or more different distances (i.e., the fasteners 107 may be spaced at irregular intervals).

With reference now to FIG. 2, a duvet insert 200 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes an upper (top) edge 201, a lower (bottom) edge 202, a left side edge 203, and a right side edge 204. The duvet insert 200 is configured to be accommodated in the interior pocket 106 of the duvet cover 100.

Additionally, in the illustrated embodiment, the duvet insert 200 also includes a plurality of fasteners 205 spaced apart from each other. In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may be integral with the duvet insert 200 or separate from the duvet insert 200. The fasteners 205 may include one or more sockets, one or more studs, or a combination of one or more sockets and one or more studs. Additionally, optionally, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may include one or more socket caps and/or one or more stud caps. For instance, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 of the duvet insert 200 may include one or more sockets and one or more socket caps configured to attach to the one or more sockets. Additionally, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 of the duvet insert 200 may include one or more studs and one or more stud caps configured to attach to the one or more studs.

In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may be proximate to the corners of the duvet insert 200 (e.g., the duvet insert 200 may include one fastener 205 proximate to each of the corners). Additionally, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 are also proximate to the upper (top) edge 201, the left side edge 203, and the right side edge 204 in addition to the fasteners 205 proximate to the corners. Accordingly, in one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may extend around the entire periphery of the duvet insert 205 except for along the lower (bottom) edge 202.

Although in the illustrated embodiment the duvet insert 200 includes ten (10) fasteners 205, in one or more embodiments the duvet insert 200 may include any other suitable number of fasteners, such as, for example, in a range from four (4) to sixteen (16) fasteners 205. In one or more embodiments, each of the fasteners 205 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or one or more studs) may be disposed within approximately three, four, or five inches of one of the corners or one of the edges 201, 203, 204 of the duvet insert 200. In some embodiments, one, two, three, or four fasteners 205 (e.g., sockets and/or studs) may be disposed along the left side edge 203 of the duvet insert 200. In some embodiments, one, two, three, or four fasteners 205 (e.g., sockets and/or studs) may be disposed along the right side edge 204 of the duvet insert 200. In some embodiments, one, two, three, or four fasteners 205 (e.g., sockets or studs) may be disposed along the upper edge 201 of the duvet insert 200. In some embodiments, there may be no fasteners 205 (e.g., no sockets or studs) along lower edge 202 other than those disposed at the corners and that happen to be proximal to the lower edge 202.

In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or the one or more studs, and optionally one or more socket caps and/or one or more stud caps) are formed of (or include) plastic (e.g., the fasteners 205 may be plastic garment snaps). In some embodiments, the fasteners 205 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or one or more studs, and optionally the one or more socket caps and/or the one or more stud caps) are in a range from approximately 0.5 centimeter (cm) wide to approximately 1.5 cm wide. In some embodiments, the fasteners 205 (e.g., the one or more sockets, one or more studs, one or more socket caps, and/or one or more stud caps) may be YKK sockets, studs, or caps. In some embodiments, the socket caps and stud caps may be similar or substantially the same.

In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may be equidistantly (or substantially equidistantly) spaced apart from each other (i.e., the fasteners 205 may be spaced at regular or substantially regular intervals). For example, the two closest sockets to a given socket may be spaced in the same amount (or substantially the same amount) from the given socket. Similarly, in one or more embodiments, the two closest studs to a given stud may be spaced in the same amount (or substantially the same amount) from the given stud. In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may be spaced apart from each other at two or more different distances (i.e., the fasteners 205 may be spaced at irregular intervals). In one or more embodiments, the fasteners 205 may have any other suitable spacing depending on the spacing of the fasteners 107 of the duvet cover 100. That is, in one or more embodiments, the spacing between the fasteners 205 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or one or more studs) of the duvet insert 200, and the spacing between the fasteners 205 (e.g., the one or more sockets and/or one or more studs) of the duvet cover 100, may be the same (or approximately the same) so that the studs from either the duvet cover 100 or the duvet insert 200 can snap into the sockets from the other of the duvet insert 200 or the duvet cover 100.

In use, the duvet insert 200 may first be inserted into the interior pocket 106 of the duvet cover 100 and then the duvet insert 200 may be detachably coupled to the duvet cover 100 by coupling the fasteners 205 of the duvet insert 200 to the fasteners 107 of the duvet cover 100 (e.g., snapping the studs into the sockets). Once the duvet insert 200 has been detachably coupled to the duvet cover 100, the zipper 105 on the duvet cover 100 may be closed. Alternatively, the duvet cover 100 may be first turned inside out and then the duvet insert 200 may be detachably coupled to the duvet cover 100 by coupling the fasteners 205 of the duvet insert 200 to the fasteners 107 of the duvet cover 100 (e.g., snapping the studs into the sockets). Once the duvet insert 200 has been detachably coupled to the duvet cover 100, the duvet cover 100 may be turned right side out such that the duvet insert 200 is inside the interior pocket 106 of the duvet cover 100. Once the duvet insert 200 has been detachably coupled to the duvet cover 100 and the duvet cover 100 has been turned right side out, the zipper 105 on the duvet cover 100 may be closed. In this manner, the duvet cover 100 and the duvet insert 200 are configured to snap together to improve the secureness of the duvet system.
