The present application claims priority to, and the benefit of, U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/714,211, which was filed on Oct. 31, 2024, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to the field of dual blanket and sheet devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to two independent sheet/blanket systems. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices and methods of manufacture.

BACKGROUND

By way of background, this invention relates to improvements in dual blanket devices. Generally, people who sleep with a partner typically share the same blankets and must deal with blankets and sheets being kicked around through the night. One person may get too hot and throw the blankets to the side, leaving their partner with no covering. Accordingly, people of different body types and sizes sleeping together may have trouble maintaining optimal blanket coverage due to height and weight differences. Further, constantly dealing with blanket coverage throughout the night can lead to poor sleep and fatigue throughout the next day.

Accordingly, a blanket constructed in accordance with the invention can be easily shared between two people without either person feeling uncomfortable. Further, it is necessary for people to sleep well at night, which can be comprised when sleeping with a partner. This can be difficult considering sharing one blanket between the two partners requires sharing and sacrificing of your own comfort. Accordingly, one blanket is typically used to cover both people, which can cause the expenditure of energy and can develop discomfort at times.

Accordingly, there is a demand for an improved dual blanket and sheet device that allows users to keep both them and their partner comfortable while sleeping. More particularly, there is a demand for a dual blanket and sheet device that allows both partners to have as many or as little covers as desired.

Therefore, there exists a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket and sheet device that provides users with sheets or blankets that helps two people sleep more comfortably with one another. There is also a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket and sheet device that features a dual cover system that is split down the middle and attached and overlapped at the base such that each person has their own adjustable blanket. Further, there is a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket and sheet device that enables people to share a blanket/sheet but maintain their own blanket coverage without worrying about their sleeping partners tossing and turning and removing the others covers. Moreover, there is a long felt need in the art for a device that offers a way for people of different heights and sizes to sleep together without causing discomfort for each other. Further, there is a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket and sheet device that includes an outermost blanket which can be connected to allow the partners to still be close together. Finally, there is a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket and sheet device that includes independent sides to match specific user's preferences.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a dual blanket and sheet device. The device is a modified blanket/sheet which allows both partners to have as many or as little covers as desired. The dual blanket and sheet device comprises a body component that is configured in a rectangular blanket/sheet shape. The body component uses two independent bedding sheets/blankets that are split down the middle and connected at the base. Further, the two independent bedding sheets/blankets allow each partner to adjust the blanket/sheet on their side without affecting the other partner's blanket/sheet. Thus, the body component is adjustable and comfortable. The body component can be available in many different bed sizes, including queen, king, etc. Further, the body component comprises an outermost heavy cover/blanket which contains a button or snap at the top to allow it to be connected. In this way, partners can maintain closeness while in bed.

In this manner, the dual blanket and sheet device of the present invention accomplishes all of the forgoing objectives and provides users with a device that provides a dual blanket and sheet system. The device is a blanket/sheet which is split down the middle and connected and overlapped at the base. The device can comprise an outer covering with a connector.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a dual blanket and sheet device. The device is a modified blanket/sheet which is split down the middle and connected at the base. The dual blanket and sheet device comprises a body component that allows two people to both adjust the blanket/sheet to their own specifications. Further, the body component can include an outer covering which is also split down the middle and connected at a base, but which can secure at the top to form one large blanket/sheet, if desired. Thus, the body component is adjustable and comfortable. Further, the device can come in many different sizes for different beds.

In one embodiment, the dual blanket and sheet device allows users to adjust their own blanket/sheet without moving their partner's blanket/sheet. Further, the split blanket/sheet allows for comfort for both partners. Accordingly, users can remain in the same bed with their partners without having to sacrifice their own comfort or sleep, saving users significant energy and preventing fatigue and discomfort. Further, the device can be utilized with solo persons who sleep with a dog/cat or other pet. Thus, the device can be utilized by single persons, not just couples.

In one embodiment, the dual blanket and sheet device comprises a body component that is configured in a rectangular bed sheet/blanket structure. In one embodiment, the body component comprises a set of bed sheets and blankets which all have a top surface, a bottom surface, as well as a top and bottom edge. However, the body component can be any suitable shape and size as is known in the art, as long as the body component is sized and shaped to fit a traditionally sized bed or larger sized bed, such as Alaska king, Texas king, Vermont king, Wyoming king, etc.

In one embodiment, the entire body component is adjustable via a split down the middle of the body component. The bed sheets/blankets of the body component comprise a split down the length of the body component, stopping and overlapping at the bottom edge or base of the body component. In this way, the two sides of the bottom component are still connected at the bottom edge, thus allowing for users to still remain underneath technically one blanket/sheet. Each side of the body component thus works independently of the other. Further, where the two sides of the body component are specifically connected at the bottom edge can change based on user preferences, so long as it still allows for the two sides to work as separate entities.

In one embodiment, the body component also comprises an outer covering sheet or blanket which directly covers the rest of the body component. This outer covering sheet/blanket is split down the middle exactly as the other sheets/blankets involved in the body component are. However, this outer covering sheet or blanket also comprises a securing means at the top edge. This securing means could either be a button, snap, hook and loop fastener, etc., or any other securing means as is known in the art. This would allow the two users to be underneath one connected blanket/sheet if so desired.

In one embodiment, the body component can be any suitable size or shape as is necessary, specifically accommodating for different sized beds such as king, queen, etc.

In one embodiment, the dual blanket and sheet device is manufactured from cotton, linen, flannel, silk, or other suitable materials as is known in the art, or a combination of such materials.

In yet another embodiment, the dual blanket and sheet device comprises a plurality of indicia.

In yet another embodiment, a method of adjusting a sheet/blanket with a partner in bed is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a dual sheet/blanket device comprising a body component with a split down the middle. The method also comprises getting in bed and underneath the body component with your partner. Further, the method comprises adjusting your specific side of the body component to your comfort. The method also comprises securing the top edge of the outer covering sheet/blanket. Finally, the method comprises having a good and comfortable night of sleep.

Numerous benefits and advantages of this invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art to which it pertains, upon reading and understanding the following detailed specification.

To the accomplishment of the foregoing and related ends, certain illustrative aspects of the disclosed innovation are described herein in connection with the following description and the annexed drawings. Other advantages and novel features will become apparent from the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

The innovation is now described with reference to the drawings, wherein like reference numerals are used to refer to like elements throughout. In the following description, for purposes of explanation, numerous specific details are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding thereof. It may be evident, however, that the innovation can be practiced without these specific details. In other instances, well-known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form in order to facilitate a description thereof. Various embodiments are discussed hereinafter. It should be noted that the figures are described only to facilitate the description of the embodiments. They are not intended as an exhaustive description of the invention and do not limit the scope of the invention. Additionally, an illustrated embodiment need not have all the aspects or advantages shown. Thus, in other embodiments, any of the features described herein from different embodiments may be combined.

As noted above, there is a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket or sheet device that provides users with sheets or blankets that helps two people sleep more comfortably with one another. There is also a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket or sheet device that features a dual cover system that is split down the middle and attached at the base such that each person has their own adjustable blanket/sheet. Further, there is a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket or sheet device that enables people to share a blanket/sheet but maintain their own blanket/sheet coverage without worrying about their sleeping partners tossing and turning. Moreover, there is a long felt need in the art for a device that offers a way for people of different heights and sizes to sleep together without causing discomfort for each other. Further, there is a long felt need in the art for a dual blanket and sheet device that includes an outermost blanket/sheet which can be connected to allow the partners to still be close together. The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a novel dual blanket and sheet device. The dual blanket and sheet device comprises a body component that is configured in a rectangular blanket shape. The body component uses two independent bedding sheets/blankets that are split down the middle and connected at the base. Further, the two independent bedding sheets/blankets allow each partner to adjust the blanket/sheet on their side without changing the other partner's blanket/sheet. Thus, the body component is adjustable and comfortable. The body component can be available in many different bed sizes, including queen, king, etc. Further, the body component comprises an outermost heavy cover which contains a button or snap at the top to allow it to be connected. In this way, partners can maintain closeness while in bed. The present invention also includes a novel method of adjusting a blanket/sheet with a partner in bed. The method includes the steps of providing a dual blanket and sheet device comprising a body component with a split down the middle. The method also comprises getting in bed and underneath the body component with your partner. Further, the method comprises adjusting your specific side of the body component to your comfort. The method also comprises securing the top edge of the outer covering sheet/blanket. Finally, the method comprises having a good and comfortable night of sleep.

Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of one embodiment of the dual blanket and sheet device 100 of the present invention. In the present embodiment, the dual blanket and sheet device 100 is an improved dual blanket and sheet device 100 that provides a user 106 with a blanket or sheet that is split 104 down the middle 200. Specifically, the dual blanket and sheet device 100 comprises a body component 102 and a split 104. Thus, the body component 102 is adjustable and comfortable. In one embodiment, the body component 102 comprises an entire set of bed sheets and multiple blankets, as desired.

Generally, the dual blanket and sheet device 100 allows users 106 to adjust their side 108 of the body component 102 without disturbing their partner's rest. Further, the split 104 can be used to accommodate for all users 106 sleeping in the same bed. Accordingly, users 106 can manipulate the body component 102 to their specific preferences, saving users 106 significant energy and preventing discomfort.

Further, the dual blanket/sheet device 100 comprises a body component 102 that is configured in a rectangular bed sheet/blanket structure. The body component 102 comprises a set of bed sheets and blankets which all have a top surface 110, a bottom surface 112, as well as a top 114 and bottom edge 116. However, the body component 102 can be any suitable shape and size as is known in the art, as long as the body component 102 is sized and shaped to fit a traditionally sized bed 118.

As shown in FIG. 2, the body component 102 is adjustable via a split 104 down the middle 200 of the body component 102. Every bed sheet/blanket of the body component 102 comprises a split 104 down the length of the body component 102, stopping at the bottom edge 116 or base of the body component 102. In this way, the two sides 108 of the body component 102 are still connected at the bottom edge 116, thus allowing for users 106 to still remain technically underneath one blanket/sheet. Each side 108 of the body component 102 thus works independently of the other. Further, where the two sides 108 of the body component 102 are specifically connected at the bottom edge 116 can change based on user 106 preferences, so long as it still allows for the two sides 108 to work as separate entities.

As shown in FIG. 3, the body component 102 can be any suitable size or shape as is necessary. Specifically, the body component 102 can accommodate different sized beds 118 such as king, queen, etc. The body component 102 can also come in many different colors and designs to accommodate for user 106 preferences.

As shown in FIG. 4, the body component 102 allows the two sides 108 to connect at the bottom edge 116 or base. However, if users 106 still wanted to be underneath one connected blanket together, the body component 102 also comprises an outer covering sheet/blanket 400 which directly covers the rest of the body component 102. This outer covering sheet/blanket 400 also has a split 104 down the middle 200 exactly as the other sheets/blankets involved in the body component 102. However, this outer covering sheet/blanket 400 also comprises a securing means 402 at the top edge 114. This securing means 402 could either be a button, snap, hook and loop fastener, etc., or any other securing means 402 as is known in the art.

As shown in FIG. 5, the dual blanket and sheet device 100 is manufactured from cotton, linen, flannel, silk, or other suitable materials 500 as is known in the art, or a combination of such materials.

In yet another embodiment, the dual blanket and sheet device 100 comprises a plurality of indicia 502. The body component 102 of the device 100 may include advertising, a trademark, or other letters, designs, or characters, printed, painted, stamped, or integrated into the body component 102, or any other indicia 502 as is known in the art. Specifically, any suitable indicia 502 as is known in the art can be included, such as but not limited to, patterns, logos, emblems, images, symbols, designs, letters, words, characters, animals, advertisements, brands, etc., that may or may not be blanket/sheet, bed, or brand related.

FIG. 6 illustrates a flowchart of the method of adjusting a blanket or sheet with a partner in bed. The method includes the steps of at 600, providing a dual blanket/sheet device comprising a body component with a split down the middle. The method also comprises at 602, getting in bed and underneath the body component with your partner. Further, the method comprises at 604, adjusting your specific side of the body component to your comfort. The method also comprises at 606, securing the top edge of the outer covering sheet/blanket. Finally, the method comprises at 608, having a good and comfortable night of sleep.

Certain terms are used throughout the following description and claims to refer to particular features or components. As one skilled in the art will appreciate, different users may refer to the same feature or component by different names. This document does not intend to distinguish between components or features that differ in name but not structure or function. As used herein “dual blanket/sheet device”, “blanket device”, “bed sheets device”, and “device” are interchangeable and refer to the dual blanket/sheet device 100 of the present invention.

Notwithstanding the forgoing, the dual blanket/sheet device 100 of the present invention can be of any suitable size and configuration as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention, provided that it accomplishes the above stated objectives. One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that the dual blanket/sheet device 100 as shown in FIGS. 1-6 is for illustrative purposes only, and that many other sizes and shapes of the dual blanket/sheet device 100 are well within the scope of the present disclosure. Although the dimensions of the dual blanket/sheet device 100 are important design parameters for user convenience, the dual blanket/sheet device 100 may be of any size that ensures optimal performance during use and/or that suits the user's needs and/or preferences.

Various modifications and additions can be made to the exemplary embodiments discussed without departing from the scope of the present invention. While the embodiments described above refer to particular features, the scope of this invention also includes embodiments having different combinations of features and embodiments that do not include all of the described features. Accordingly, the scope of the present invention is intended to embrace all such alternatives, modifications, and variations as fall within the scope of the claims, together with all equivalents thereof.
