The present invention relates generally to the field of hair accessory holders. More specifically, the present invention relates to a hair accessory storage device comprising a cylindrical body for organizing hair ties and scrunchies, along with at least one extendable arm for securing secondary accessories like bobby pins and barrettes using gripping channels, textures, or magnets. Various attachment mechanisms, including hooks, suction cups, adhesive strips, and magnetic backings, allow customizable and secure placement on different surfaces. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.

These items are commonly scattered across various locations in a bedroom or bathroom, making them difficult to locate when needed. Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a hair accessory storage device that provides a designated and efficient solution for organizing various hair accessories. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a hair accessory storage device that allows users to easily access and retrieve specific items without unnecessary searching or untangling. Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a hair accessory storage device that can be conveniently mounted on a door or other surfaces, optimizing space utilization and reducing clutter.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a hair accessory storage device. The device is comprised of a hair accessory storage device designed to efficiently organize and provide easy access to various hair accessories. The device comprises a cylindrical body that serves as the primary storage structure, allowing hair ties, scrunchies, and similar accessories to be placed around the same to prevent tangling and slipping. The body may be made of plastic or metal with optional coatings to enhance grip and durability, including antimicrobial treatments. At least one extendable and lockable arm or ribbon tied onto top hanging string extends from the cylindrical body to store secondary accessories such as bobby pins and barrettes, featuring gripping channels, textured surfaces, or magnetic elements for secure retention. Various attachment mechanisms, including hooks, suction cups, adhesive strips, magnetic backings, and over-the-door clips, provide flexible mounting options for different surfaces. The invention also comprises a method of use, where a user organizes accessories on the device and secures it to a preferred location using the chosen attachment mechanism.

As noted above, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a hair accessory storage device that provides a designated and efficient solution for organizing various hair accessories. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a hair accessory storage device that allows users to easily access and retrieve specific items without unnecessary searching or untangling. Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a hair accessory storage device that can be conveniently mounted on a door or other surfaces, optimizing space utilization and reducing clutter.
The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is comprised of a hair accessory storage device. The hair accessory storage device is designed to provide efficient storage and easy access to various hair accessories. The device includes a cylindrical body that serves as the primary storage structure, allowing accessories such as hair ties and scrunchies to be placed around an outer surface. This design prevents tangling, maintains organization, and offers a continuous storage area for multiple accessories without overlap. To enhance grip and prevent slipping, the body may be coated with a high-friction material such as foam, silicone, rubberized material, or TPE. The coating may be applied as a continuous layer or in specific gripping zones. Additionally, an antimicrobial coating may be included to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew.

Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of one potential embodiment of a hair accessory storage device 100 of the present invention with primary hair accessories 104 attached to the device 100 in accordance with the disclosed architecture. The hair accessory storage device 100 is designed to efficiently store and provide easy access to various hair accessories. More specifically, the device 100 is comprised of a cylindrical body 102, which functions as the primary storage structure. The body 102 is configured to accommodate multiple hair accessories 104 such as, but not limited to, hair ties, scrunchies, and other elastic accessories, by allowing these accessories 104 to be placed around the outer surface of the body 102. This configuration prevents tangling or slipping and ensures that accessories 104 remain organized and easily accessible. The cylindrical shape of the body 102 provides a continuous storage surface, allowing users to wrap multiple accessories 104 around different sections of the body 102 without overlap or interference.
In one embodiment, the body 102 is comprised of a plastic material, which may be a rigid or semi-flexible polymer such as, but not limited to, polypropylene, polyethylene, or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). The rigidity or flexibility of the plastic material may vary depending on the specific application, with a more rigid plastic providing structural stability and a semi-flexible plastic allowing for slight compression when accessories 104 are placed around the body 102. The surface of the plastic material may be smooth, textured, or patterned to further enhance grip. In another embodiment, the body 102 is comprised of a metallic material, such as aluminum or stainless steel, which provides durability and resistance to deformation. The metallic material may have a brushed, polished, or matte finish to improve aesthetic appeal and reduce the visibility of scratches or wear over time.
To enhance grip and prevent accessories 104 from slipping, the body 102 may be comprised of a coating 106. The coating 106 may be comprised of a foam, silicone, rubberized material, or thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), each of which provides a high-friction surface to keep accessories 104 in place. The thickness of the coating 106 may vary, with a thicker layer providing additional cushioning and grip, while a thinner layer maintains a more compact profile. In one embodiment, the coating 106 is applied as a continuous layer to cover the entire outer surface of the body 102, ensuring consistent friction throughout. In another variation, the coating 106 is patterned or segmented to allow for specific gripping zones along the body 102, which may be strategically placed to correspond with areas where accessories 104 are most frequently stored. Additionally, the coating 106 may be comprised of an additional antimicrobial coating 107, which is designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. The antimicrobial coating 107 may be embedded within the material of the coating 106 or applied as a separate surface treatment.
To provide additional storage for secondary accessories 108, such as, but not limited to, hair clips, barrettes, and bobby pins, the device 100 is comprised of at least one arm 110 or ribbon that extends outward from the cylindrical body 102, as seen in FIG. 2. The at least one arm 110 may be positioned at various angles relative to the body 102, including perpendicular, angled, or parallel orientations, depending on the specific storage needs. In one embodiment, the at least one arm 110 is telescopic, allowing for expansion and contraction in length as needed. The telescopic functionality may be achieved using nested tubular sections, a sliding rail system, or an accordion-style expansion mechanism. The material composition of the arm 110 may match that of the body 102 or differ to optimize flexibility, durability, or weight reduction.
The length of the arm 110 is secured via at least one locking member 112 (as seen in FIG. 1), which may include, but is not limited to, a friction-based locking mechanism, a spring-loaded pin, a twist-lock mechanism, a ratcheting system, or a snap-fit engagement. The locking member 112 ensures that the arm 110 or ribbon remains in the desired position when extended and prevents unintended movement during use. The mechanism may be manually adjustable, allowing users to extend or retract the arm 110 to accommodate different quantities and sizes of accessories 108.
In one embodiment, the arm 110 is comprised of a channel 114 (as seen in FIG. 2) that is specifically shaped to secure accessories 108 such as bobby pins and barrettes. The channel 114 may be U-shaped, V-shaped, or comprised of a series of parallel grooves to accommodate different accessory designs. The dimensions of the channel 114 may be varied to ensure compatibility with accessories 108 of different sizes, with a narrower channel providing a more secure grip for thin accessories and a wider channel accommodating bulkier clips or barrettes. To further prevent clips or pins from slipping, the arm 110 may be comprised of a texture 116 or a coating 118. The texture 116 may include ridges, grooves, dimples, or an embossed pattern to enhance grip and retention. The coating 118 may be comprised of rubberized or high-friction material to improve the retention of accessories 108, with variations in thickness and softness to balance security and ease of removal.
In one embodiment, the arm 110 is magnetic or comprised of a magnet 120 to facilitate attachment of metal accessories 108. The magnet 120 may be embedded within the arm 110, affixed to the surface, or integrated into a removable magnetic strip. The magnet 120 may be a neodymium, ferrite, or flexible magnetic sheet, each offering varying degrees of holding strength. A stronger neodymium magnet 120 may be used to secure heavier accessories 108, while a ferrite or flexible magnet 120 may provide sufficient attraction for lightweight accessories. The placement of the magnet 120 within the arm 110 may be continuous along the length of the arm 110 or concentrated in specific sections to allow for varied attachment options.
To accommodate different user preferences and installation environments, the device 100 may be comprised of a number of different attachment mechanisms 130, as seen in FIG. 3. One attachment mechanism 130 may be a hook designed for positioning over a door, closet rod, or towel bar. The hook may be fixed or adjustable to accommodate different door or rod thicknesses, with an adjustable variation allowing the user to modify the width of the hook for a secure fit. Another attachment mechanism 130 may be a suction cup for temporary attachment to smooth surfaces such as mirrors, glass, or tiles. The suction cup may be a single large unit for central support or multiple smaller units for increased stability and load distribution. In one variation, the suction cup is a lever-based vacuum suction cup to enhance suction strength and prevent accidental detachment.
An additional attachment mechanism 130 may be an adhesive strip for semi-permanent wall mounting with a removable or repositionable adhesive. The adhesive strip may be comprised of double-sided tape, reusable gel pads, or a peel-and-stick mounting pad. Another variation may be a magnetic backing 130 for attachment to metallic surfaces such as lockers or metal vanities. The magnetic backing may be a single large magnet for centralized support or multiple smaller magnets embedded in the structure of the body 102 to create a distributed magnetic hold.
An alternative attachment mechanism 130 may be an over-the-door clip configured to latch securely onto the top edge of a door without requiring permanent installation. The clip may be comprised of metal or plastic and may feature padding or rubberized grips to prevent damage to the door surface. The over-the-door clip may be designed with a low-profile structure to minimize interference with door movement, allowing the door to open and close freely while the device 100 remains securely attached.
These various design elements and variations ensure that the hair accessory storage device 100 is adaptable to a wide range of user preferences, environments, and storage needs, providing an organized and accessible solution for managing hair accessories 104 and 108.
The present invention is also comprised of a method of using 200 the device 100, as seen in FIG. 4. First, a hair accessory storage device 100 is provided, comprised of a cylindrical body 102, at least one arm 110, and at least one attachment mechanism 130 [Step 202]. Next, the user places one or more hair accessories 104, such as hair ties or scrunchies, around the outer surface of the cylindrical body 102, ensuring they remain organized and tangle-free [Step 204]. Then, the user secures secondary accessories 108, such as bobby pins, barrettes, or hair clips, onto the at least one arm 110, which may be telescopic, textured, magnetized, or include a gripping channel for enhanced retention [Step 206]. Finally, the device 100 is attached to a desired surface using the attachment mechanism 130, which may include a hook, suction cup, adhesive strip, over-the-door clip, or magnetic backing, allowing for secure and customizable placement [Step 208].
Certain terms are used throughout the following description and claims to refer to particular features or components. As one skilled in the art will appreciate, different persons may refer to the same feature or component by different names. This document does not intend to distinguish between components or features that differ in name but not structure or function. As used herein “hair accessory storage device” and “device” are interchangeable and refer to the hair accessory storage device 100 of the present invention.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the hair accessory storage device 100 of the present invention and its various components can be of any suitable size and configuration as is known in the art without affecting the overall concept of the invention, provided that they accomplish the above-stated objectives. One of ordinary skill in the art will appreciate that the size, configuration, and material of the hair accessory storage device 100 as shown in the FIGS. are for illustrative purposes only, and that many other sizes and shapes of the hair accessory storage device 100 are well within the scope of the present disclosure. Although the dimensions of the hair accessory storage device 100 are important design parameters for user convenience, the hair accessory storage device 100 may be of any size, shape, and/or configuration that ensures optimal performance during use and/or that suits the user's needs and/or preferences.
Various modifications and additions can be made to the exemplary embodiments discussed without departing from the scope of the present invention. While the embodiments described above refer to particular features, the scope of this invention also includes embodiments having different combinations of features and embodiments that do not include all the described features. Accordingly, the scope of the present invention is intended to embrace all such alternatives, modifications, and variations as fall within the scope of the claims, together with all equivalents thereof.

1. A hair accessory storage device comprising:
a cylindrical body configured to store a primary hair accessory by allowing the primary hair accessory to be placed around the cylindrical body;
an arm extending outward from the cylindrical body, the arm configured to store a secondary hair accessory; and
an attachment mechanism configured to secure the hair accessory storage device to a surface.
2. The hair accessory storage device of claim 1, wherein the primary hair accessory is comprised of a hair tie, a scrunchie, or an elastic accessory.
3. The hair accessory storage device of claim 1, wherein the secondary hair accessory is comprised of a hair clip, a barrette, or a bobby pin.
4. The hair accessory storage device of claim 1, wherein the cylindrical body is comprised of a coating.
5. The hair accessory storage device of claim 4, wherein the coating is comprised of an antimicrobial coating.
6. The hair accessory storage device of claim 1, wherein the arm is comprised of a channel.

a cylindrical body configured to store a primary hair accessory by allowing the primary hair accessory to be placed around the cylindrical body;
a telescopic arm extending outward from the cylindrical body, the arm configured to store a secondary hair accessory and wherein the arm is comprised of a locking member; and
an attachment mechanism configured to secure the hair accessory storage device to a surface.
14. The hair accessory storage device of claim 13, wherein the locking member is comprised of a friction-based locking mechanism, a spring-loaded pin, a twist-lock mechanism, a ratcheting system, or a snap-fit engagement.
15. The hair accessory storage device of claim 13, wherein the telescopic arm is comprised of a channel.
16. The hair accessory storage device of claim 13, wherein the arm is comprised of a magnet.
17. The hair accessory storage device of claim 13, wherein the attachment mechanism is comprised of a hook or a suction cup.

20. A method of using a hair accessory storage device, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a hair accessory storage device comprised of a cylindrical body, an arm, and an attachment mechanism;
placing a primary hair accessory around the cylindrical body;
securing a secondary hair accessory onto the arm; and
attaching the hair accessory storage device to a surface using the attachment mechanism.
