Physiological monitoring device for controlling a medication infusion device

Methods and apparatuses for calculating and transmitting medication dosage or bolus information are provided. A blood glucose meter receives a test strip with a sample of the user's blood and measures the user's blood glucose level with a sensor. The meter then calculates a bolus amount that is transmitted to a medication infusion pump using a radio frequency transmitter or transceiver. The infusion pump receives the bolus amount data and then delivers a bolus of medication to the user based on the calculated bolus estimate. The meter may also transmit commands to, and be used to remotely control, the infusion pump.

Ready-Made Food Package and a Method of Making It

The invention relates to a ready-made food package, to a method for manufacturing it and to the use of polymer-coated board in the ready-made food package. The package is manufactured by placing the food (16) in a raw state in the tray (2) where the food is baked, and by closing the tray with a lid (4) after baking. In accordance with the invention, the lid (4) is formed from a blank cut from polymer-coated board, the blank being placed over the mouth of the tray (2), and then the edges (9) of the blank are bent under the rim flange (6) of the tray and heat-sealed to the lower surface (11) of the rim flange by means of the polymer coating (14) of the board. The lid can be additionally heat-sealed to the upper surface (10) of the rim flange, so that two sealing lines (15) will be formed inside each other in the package. Accordingly, the tray (2) can be formed of polymer-coated board or optionally of polymer or aluminium alone.

Method and system to provide high availability of shared data

A data storage system and method are described. The system may comprise a data repository to store data, and first and second storage controllers. The first and second storage controllers may be connected via at least one network device to the data repository. One or more clients may be connected to the first storage controller and to the second storage controller to access the data in the data repository via the first and second storage controllers. The second storage controller may be configured to at least partially inhibit network connectivity of the first storage controller if the first storage controller at least partially fails. The system may include a Storage Area Network providing the data repository, each of the first and second storage controllers being connected to the Storage Area Network via switch. Each switch comprises at least one fiber channel gateway and at least two Target Channel Adaptors.

High availability storage system

Methods and systems are described for a storage system including at least two controllers configured to handle write requests and a non-volatile cache connected to both controllers that stores data received from the controllers. The non-volatile cache is accessible by the first and second controllers using an interface technology permitting two or more communication paths between a particular active controller and the non-volatile cache to be aggregated to form a higher data rate communication path. Additionally, a plurality of storage devices are each connected using the interface technology to each controller for storing data received from the controllers.

Architecture and method for NAND flash memory

A NAND memory architecture arranges all even bitlines of a page together, and arranges all odd bitlines of a page together, so that programming operations are carried out on adjacent bitlines on the same word line to reduce floating gate coupling. Non-connected bitlines can be used at boundaries between even and odd sections of the array to further reduce floating gate coupling.

Fast, language-independent method for user authentication by voice

A method and system for training a user authentication by voice signal are described. In one embodiment, a set of feature vectors are decomposed into speaker-specific recognition units. The speaker-specific recognition units are used to compute distribution values to train the voice signal. In addition, spectral feature vectors are decomposed into speaker-specific characteristic units which are compared to the speaker-specific distribution values. If the speaker-specific characteristic units are within a threshold limit of the speaker-specific distribution values, the speech signal is authenticated.
