Internal backbone structural chassis for a surgical device
A chassis for mounting a set of operating components of a power head of a surgical instrument is disclosed. The power head has a housing enabling access to an interior volume of the power head encompassed by the housing. The set of operating components have a proper configuration for alignment when mounted within the interior volume encompassed by the housing. The chassis is configured to provide the proper configuration for alignment of either an original or replacement set of operating components mounted on the chassis if the chassis and set of operating components are mounted within the interior volume of the housing. The chassis may be formed from metal and the housing formed from a polymer. The chassis may be configured to ground at least one electrical component.

BATTERY EJECTION DESIGN FOR A SURGICAL DEVICE
A power head for a surgical apparatus is disclosed having at least one battery-retaining structure defining a battery ejection path. The battery-retaining structure is configured to receive at least one battery. The power head further includes at least one sealing member extending around the one or more battery-retaining structures and configured to enable ejection of at least one battery from the structure along the battery ejection path. The power head may include a handle assembly that includes the battery-retaining structure. The sealing member extends around the structure such that the sealing member is configured to enable ejection of at least one battery from the battery-retaining structure by one hand of a user. The power head may include at least one energy storage mechanism that enables ejection by one hand of a user of at least one battery.

Surgical instrument with curvilinear tissue-contacting surfaces
A surgical stapling instrument including a handle assembly, an elongated body portion, a shell assembly and an anvil assembly. The elongated body portion extends distally from the handle assembly and defines a longitudinal axis. The shell assembly is disposed adjacent a distal end of the elongated body portion and includes a non-planar, tissue-contacting surface oriented obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis. The anvil assembly includes a non-planar, tissue-contacting surface oriented obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis. The tissue-contacting surface of the anvil assembly is configured to align with the tissue-contacting surface of the shell assembly when the anvil assembly and shell assembly are in the approximated position.

Systems and methods for establishing a cloud bridge between virtual storage resources
Methods and systems for establishing a cloud bridge between two virtual storage resources and for transmitting data from one first virtual storage resource to the other virtual storage resource. The system can include a first virtual storage resource or cloud, and a storage delivery management service that executes on a computer and within the first virtual storage resource. The storage delivery management service can receive user credentials of a user that identify a storage adapter. Upon receiving the user credentials, the storage delivery management service can invoke the storage adapter which executes an interface that identifies a second virtual storage resource and includes an interface translation file. The storage delivery management service accesses the second virtual storage resource and establishes a cloud bridge with the second virtual storage resource using information obtained from the second virtual storage resource and information translated by the storage adapter using the interface translation file.

Surgical stapler with tactile feedback system
A surgical instrument comprising a handle portion, an elongated body portion extending distally from the handle portion, and a tool adjacent the distal portion of the elongated body portion and having at least one jaw movable to a clamping position to clamp tissue. A tactile feedback system includes an expandable member extending from the handle portion, the expandable member providing a tactile indicator of a tissue parameter of tissue clamped by the least one jaw.

Staple pocket arrangement for surgical stapler
A staple pocket arrangement on the anvil portion of a surgical stapler device includes pairs of staple pockets corresponding to each one of a plurality of staples to be closed. The staple pockets may have a generally triangular shape when viewed from above. Each respective staple leg is received at a longitudinal end of the staple pocket that provides a relatively wide target area for receiving the staple leg to eliminate or at least minimize the likelihood that a staple leg will miss the staple pocket due to, e.g., misalignment between a first jaw of the surgical stapler having the anvil and a second jaw of the surgical stapler having a cartridge configured to fire the staples. The staple pockets may be arranged in rows, each row of staple pockets being longitudinally offset from another row, such that each staple pocket in a first row of staple pockets is nested with a staple pocket from an adjacent row of staple pockets to make more efficient use of space on the anvil.

Laparoscopic surgical instrument
An articulating surgical instrument for laparoscopic, endoscopic, and natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgical procedures consisting of a separable combination of a reusable operational handpiece section and a separable reusable or disposable articulation section. The handpiece section which remains external to the patient incorporates various control and command devices and assemblies, while the articulation section is composed of various linkages, rods, and cables which transmit positioning and operating commands from the handpiece to end effectors positioned at the distal tip of the articulation section within the patient. Improved positioning and operating configurations for the end effectors suitable for the invention as well as the general class of these instruments are also disclosed.
