Test device for a surgical tool
In various embodiments, a surgical test device for a surgical tool, such as a severing and/or sealing tool (e.g., a surgical stapler), is provided. In at least one embodiment, the surgical tool can be configured to supply at least one actuation motion to an end effector. The actuation motion(s) may cause a cutting member to move within and/or sealing members (e.g., staples) to eject from the end effector. Further, in at least one embodiment, the surgical test device can be releasably engaged to a portion of the surgical tool, such as the end effector. Additionally, the surgical test device can be configured to permit the surgical tool to supply the actuation motion(s) while preventing the tool from performing its intended surgical function. Accordingly, the surgical tool may be test fired without wasting a sealing member cartridge, while preventing inappropriate use of the tool when the test device is attached thereto.

Surgical Stapling And Cuttting Device
A surgical stapling and cutting device having an elongate shaft with proximal and distal ends. The distal end of the shaft has a flexible neck extending therefrom. The device includes an end effector disposed on a proximal end of the flexible neck. The end effector includes opposed first and second jaws adapted to receive tissue therebetween. The first jaw has a staple cartridge attached thereto, wherein the staple cartridge has multiple staples disposed therein for being driven into tissue. The second jaw includes an anvil for deforming the staples. The device also includes a remotely controlled user interface coupled to the proximal end of the elongate tube. The interface is operatively associated with the flexible neck such that movement of the remotely controlled user interface is mimicked by the flexible neck.

Surgical stapler having an articulation mechanism
An articulation mechanism for use with a surgical instrument includes a shaft, a first member disposed in mechanical cooperation with the articulation shaft, a second member disposed in mechanical cooperation with the shaft, and a flexible shaft having proximal and distal portions. The flexible member is operatively coupled to the first and second members. Upon rotation of the articulation shaft, at least one of the first and the second members moves longitudinally with respect to the other of the first and second members between a first position where the first and second members are approximated to each other and a second position where the first and second members are spaced apart from each other. This longitudinal motion causes the distal portion of the flexible member to articulate relative to the proximal portion.

Surgical stapling device
A surgical stapling device for sequentially applying a plurality of fasteners to body tissue and simultaneously incising tissue is provided. The surgical stapling device is adapted to receive disposable loading units having staples in linear rows whose length can be between about 30 mm and 60 mm. The disposable loading unit includes a proximal body portion, a mounting assembly and a tool assembly. The mounting assembly is secured to the proximal end of the tool assembly and pivotally mounted about a pivot axis to the distal end of the proximal body portion. A support member or blow-out plate assembly is positioned on opposite sides of the pivot avis and extends between the proximal body portion and the mounting assembly. An axial drive assembly is slidably positioned between the support members and is translatable through the cartridge assembly to eject staples from the cartridge assembly. The support members prevent outward buckling of the axial drive assembly during actuation of the device especially when the tool assembly is articulated. Preferably, a protrusion is provided in the proximal body portion of the disposable loading unit at a position to frictionally engage an articulation link. Engagement between the protrusion and the articulation link retains the articulation link at a fixed position within the proximal body portion to maintain the tool assembly in a desired orientation until a predetermined axial force is applied to the articulation link. The disposable loading unit also preferably includes a locking member which is operably connected to the axial drive assembly. The locking member provides an audible and/or tactile indication that the device has been actuated.

Synchronized, interactive augmented reality displays for multifunction devices
A device can receive live video of a real-world, physical environment on a touch sensitive surface. One or more objects can be identified in the live video. An information layer can be generated related to the objects. In some implementations, the information layer can include annotations made by a user through the touch sensitive surface. The information layer and live video can be combined in a display of the device. Data can be received from one or more onboard sensors indicating that the device is in motion. The sensor data can be used to synchronize the live video and the information layer as the perspective of video camera view changes due to the motion. The live video and information layer can be shared with other devices over a communication link.

System and method for efficiently creating off-site data volume back-ups
Data back-ups are a critical task of any information technology department. Data back-ups are typically performed using some type of back-up tape systems. Internet based data storage systems now offer data storage services at low prices. To take advantage of such services, a system and method for efficiently back-up data volumes is disclosed. The data back-up system divides data volumes into fingerprinted data slices. Redundant data slices are then removed. Unique fingerprinted data slices are then copied to an internet based storage provider.

Semiconductor device and manufacturing method thereof
An object is to provide a semiconductor device of which a manufacturing process is not complicated and by which cost can be suppressed, by forming a thin film transistor using an oxide semiconductor film typified by zinc oxide, and a manufacturing method thereof. For the semiconductor device, a gate electrode is formed over a substrate; a gate insulating film is formed covering the gate electrode; an oxide semiconductor film is formed over the gate insulating film; and a first conductive film and a second conductive film are formed over the oxide semiconductor film. The oxide semiconductor film has at least a crystallized region in a channel region.

Systems and methods for mobile application security classification and enforcement
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for mobile application security classification and enforcement. In particular, the present invention includes a method, a mobile device, and a distributed security system (e.g., a “cloud”) that is utilized to enforce security on mobile devices communicatively coupled to external networks (i.e., the Internet). Advantageously, the present invention is platform independent allowing it to operate with any current or emerging mobile device. Specifically, preventing malicious applications from running on an end user's mobile device is challenging with potentially millions of applications and billions of user devices; the only effective way to enforce application security is through the network that applications use to communicate.

User interface methods and systems for providing force-sensitive input
Methods and systems implement touch sensors or force sensitive materials disposed on the case of a computing device in order to enable user input gestures to be performed on portions of the device case. The force sensitive elements may generate an electrical signal in response to a gesture, such as a tap, squeeze, swipe or twist. The properties of the generated electrical signal may be compared to various reference templates to recognize particular input gestures. The force sensitive elements may operate in conjunction with more traditional input methods, such as touch-screen display and electromechanical buttons. By enabling user input gestures on the case of computing devices, the various aspects permit one hand operation of the devices including intuitive gestures that do not require the users focused attention to accomplish. Thus the various aspects may enable users to utilize their computing devices in situations not suitable to conventional user input technologies.

Role-based access control utilizing token profiles
A method A method and system for managing role-based access control of token data using token profiles is described. In one method, a token processing system (TPS) receives a request from a TPS client over a network to perform an operation on entries of a token database. The TPS identifies a subset of the multiple groups that corresponds to the entries indicated in the request of the TPS client, determines to which of the identified groups the TPS client belongs using token profiles. For each group the TPS client belongs, the TPS determines a corresponding role for the TPS client from the token profiles. For each group the TPS belongs, the TPS allows the TPS client access to the entries of the respective group to perform the operation when the TPS client has the appropriate role assigned within the respective group.
