Passive RF energy harvesting scheme for wireless sensor

A radio frequency energy harvester harvests RF energy from the environment. The energy harvester may include a local power source. The energy harvester may have an associated crystal radio antenna that harvests AM radio waves ubiquitously. The radio frequency energy harvested may be stored via a super capacitor. The stored energy may power a self-contained processing unit directly when the level of the energy harvested remains above a threshold level. However, if the energy harvested drops below the threshold level, the processing unit, which may include a radio, may switch to the local power source and/or a low power mode of operation. The low power mode of operation may reduce the amount of processing and/or transmitting by the radio. The processing unit may be part of a network of radios. The energy harvester may supply energy for a variety of applications, including building automation, industrial automation, power generation, and healthcare.

Automated fault detection and diagnostics in a building management system

Systems and methods for automated fault detection in a building management system are shown and described. The systems and methods further involve organizing the data set into bins, each bin containing a plurality of the observed points for the variable of the building management system. The systems and methods further involve calculating, for each bin, a target parameter and an estimator of scale for the observed points. The systems and methods further involve detecting, for each bin, an outlier of the building management system by comparing a data point of the bin to the calculated target parameter and estimator of scale for the bin.

Multiple tokenization for authentication

Embodiments of the present invention are directed generally to systems, methods, and apparatuses for authenticating a cardholder using multiple tokenization authentication. Embodiments of the invention are directed at a method. The method includes receiving at a first entity a first token from a consumer and determining a second token associated with the first token. Once the second token is determined, the second token is sent to a server computer at a second entity. The server computer then determines an account identifier associated with the second token and processes a transaction using the account identifier.

Mobile, modular, electrically powered system for use in fracturing underground formations

The present invention provides a method and system for providing on-site electrical power to a fracturing operation, and an electrically powered fracturing system. Natural gas can be used to drive a turbine generator in the production of electrical power. A scalable, electrically powered fracturing fleet is provided to pump fluids for the fracturing operation, obviating the need for a constant supply of diesel fuel to the site and reducing the site footprint and infrastructure required for the fracturing operation, when compared with conventional systems.

Nanolayer deposition process

A hybrid deposition process of CVD and ALD, called NanoLayer Deposition (NLD) is provided. The NLD process is a cyclic sequential deposition process, including introducing a first plurality of precursors to deposit a thin film and introducing a second plurality of precursors to modify the deposited thin film. The deposition using the first set of precursors is not self limiting and is a function of substrate temperature and process time. The second set of precursors modifies the already deposited film characteristics. The second set of precursors can treat the deposited film, including treatments such as modification of film composition and doping or removal of impurities from the deposited film. The second set of precursors can also deposit another layer on the deposited film. The additional layer can react with the existing layer to form a compound layer, or can have minimum reaction to form a nanolaminate film.

In vivo accessories for minimally invasive robotic surgery

Surgical accessories are presented in vivo and used by surgical tools in the surgical site to perform additional tasks without the need to remove the tools from the surgical site for tool change or instrument loading. The accessories can be introduced into the surgical site by a dedicated accessory introducer, or can be supported on the body of a surgical tool inserted into the surgical site and be manipulated using another surgical tool in the surgical site. The accessory introducer can be resiliently biased to bias the accessories toward a predetermined position in the surgical site.

Increased visibility during order management in a network-based supply chain environment

A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for a first business entity to provide a network-based supply chain framework for collaborative order management between at least a second and a third independent business entity, such as a service provider, vendor, reseller, manufacturer and the like. A request for an order is received over a network with an automated system, from at least a second business entity. The order is transmitted over a network, with an automated system, to at least the third business entity. Information is received from the third business entity relating to a status of completion of the order by the third business entity using a network. The progress in completing the order is tracked based on the information received from the third business entity. Progress reports from the tracking are generated periodically; and transmitted to the second business entity using the network.

FINANCIAL AUDIT RISK TRACKING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A system is provided for audit risk and tracking (ART) including an audit firm application (ART1) and a client bank application (ART2). The system maintains a data model of control activities for a best practices bank (BPB), against which control activity gap assessments are conducted for client banks. An interactive gap assessment report allows insight into controls that are lacking versus the BPB. The ART1 and ART2 systems interact to allow the client bank to interact with the audit firm to cooperate in assessing and managing business initiatives and other control, audit, and ERM activity. Novel risk scoring assessments are provided to help manage client bank controls in relation to the BPB model. A web service is provided that automatically updates the BPB model from ART1 to ART2.
