Annular adhesive structure
An apparatus for forming an anastomosis between adjacent intestinal sections of tissue is provided. The apparatus includes a circular surgical stapler having an anvil assembly with an anvil shaft and an anvil, the circular surgical stapler further having a tubular body portion with an annular knife and a body portion shaft selectively attachable to the anvil shaft; and a seal structure for deposition between the intestinal sections of tissue including a hub configured to engage attachment structure on at least one of the anvil shaft and the body portion shaft. The attachment structure is positioned so that the seal structure is located between the intestinal sections of tissue when the circular surgical stapler is disposed within the intestinal sections of tissue.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR STOMACH PARTITIONING
A device and method for remodeling or partitioning a body cavity, hollow organ or tissue tract includes graspers operable to engage two or more sections of tissue within a body cavity and to draw the engaged tissue between a first and second members of a tissue remodeling tool. The two or more pinches of tissue are held in complete or partial alignment with one another as staples or other fasteners are driven t9hrough the pinches, thus forming a four-layer tissue plication. Over time, adhesions formed between the opposed serosal layers create strong bonds that can facilitate retention of the plication over extended durations, despite the forces imparted on them by stomach movement. A cut or cut-out may be formed in the plication during or separate from the stapling step to promote edge-to-edge healing effects that will enhance tissue knitting/adhesion.

Packaging with interposer frame
The mechanisms of using an interposer frame to package a semiconductor die enables fan-out structures and reduces form factor for the packaged semiconductor die. The mechanisms involve using a molding compound to attach the semiconductor die to the interposer frame and forming a redistribution layer on one or both sides of the semiconductor die. The redistribution layer(s) in the package enables fan-out connections and formation of external connection structures. Conductive columns in the interposer frame assist in thermal management.

Wafer-level packaging mechanisms
The embodiments of mechanisms of wafer-level packaging (WLP) described above utilize a planarization stop layer to determine an end-point of the removal of excess molding compound prior to formation of redistribution lines (RDLs). Such mechanisms of WLP are used to implement fan-out and multi-chip packaging. The mechanisms are also usable to manufacture a package including chips (or dies) with different types of external connections. For example, a die with pre-formed bumps can be packaged with a die without pre-formed bumps.

Aerosol generating system with means for disabling consumable
An aerosol generating system is provided, including: a storage portion for storing an aerosol-forming substrate, an aerosol generating element for generating an aerosol from the aerosol-forming substrate, control circuitry in communication with the storage portion, and disabling component within the storage portion for rendering the storage portion inoperable in the aerosol generating system in response to a disable signal from the control circuitry. There is also provided a method in an aerosol generating system, including sending a disable signal from the control circuitry to the disabling component following a determination that an amount of the aerosol-substrate in the storage portion is below a threshold level or following a determination of a malfunction in the system.

Terminals and methods for dimensioning objects
A terminal for measuring at least one dimension of an object includes at least one imaging subsystem and an actuator. The at least one imaging subsystem includes an imaging optics assembly operable to focus an image onto an image sensor array. The imaging optics assembly has an optical axis. The actuator is operably connected to the at least one imaging subsystem for moving an angle of the optical axis relative to the terminal. The terminal is adapted to obtain first image data of the object and is operable to determine at least one of a height, a width, and a depth dimension of the object based on effecting the actuator to change the angle of the optical axis relative to the terminal to align the object in second image data with the object in the first image data, the second image data being different from the first image data.
