REPLICATION OF VIRTUALIZED INFRASTRUCTURE WITHIN DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS

A management platform, which includes a plurality of virtual machines, wherein one virtual machine utilizes a first hypervisor and is linked to resources in a first virtual environment of an enterprise data center, and one virtual machine uses a second heterogeneous hypervisor and is linked to resources in a second virtual environment of a cloud. A user interface allows a user to set a policy with respect to disaster recovery of the computing resources of the enterprise data center. A control component replicates some of the infrastructure of the enterprise data center to the second virtual environment of the cloud computing infrastructure, controls the plurality of virtual machines to provide failover to the cloud computing infrastructure when triggered based at least in part on the user-set policy, and controls the plurality of virtual machines to provide recovery back to the enterprise data center after failover to the cloud computing infrastructure.

Opticoustic sensor

A physiological sensor has an optic assembly, an acoustic assembly and an attachment assembly. The optic assembly has an optic transducer that is activated so as to transmit a plurality of wavelengths of light into a tissue site and to detect the light after attenuation by pulsatile blood flow within the tissue site. The acoustic assembly has an acoustic transducer activated so as to respond to vibrations at the surface of the tissue site. The attachment assembly affixes the optic assembly and acoustic assembly to the tissue site, such as along one side of a person's neck or the forehead. A sensor cable extends from the attachment assembly so as to transmit an optic transducer signal and an acoustic transducer signal to a monitor for calculation of physiological parameters.

Carrier aggregation using shared spectrum

A method for performing Carrier Aggregation (CA) using spectrum shared between an incumbent user and a telecommunications network includes establishing a primary cell (PCell) for the secondary user in a portion of radio spectrum that is exclusively licensed to the telecommunications network, establishing a secondary cell (SCell) for the telecommunications network in a portion of the shared spectrum that is shared with the incumbent user, receiving schedule data for the incumbent user at a controller in communication with the incumbent user and a transmitter for the PCell and the SCell, scheduling transmissions for the PCell and the SCell to avoid interference to the incumbent user, and transmitting the scheduled transmissions through the PCell and the SCell using Carrier Aggregation (CA). Accordingly, one or more SCell in shared spectrum may be aggregated with a PCell in dedicated spectrum.

Plasma treating apparatus, substrate treating method, and method of manufacturing a semiconductor device

A substrate treating method may be performed by a plasma treating apparatus. The substrate treating method may include: providing a substrate on a platform in a lower portion of an inner space of a process chamber; directing a first process gas upward from a first nozzle formed at an inner wall of the process chamber into an upper portion of the inner space, the first process gas being an inert gas and wherein the first nozzle is an obliquely upward-oriented nozzle structured to direct the first process gas upward; directing a second process gas downward from a second nozzle formed at a inner wall of the process chamber into a lower portion of the inner space, the second process gas being hydrogen gas and wherein the second nozzle is an obliquely downward-oriented nozzle structured to direct the second process gas downward; and applying a microwave to the upper portion of the inner space to excite the first process gas and the second process gas into plasma, and then processing the substrate.

NEW AND IMPROVED SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING VARIOUS CHEMICALS AND MATERIALS

Eco-friendly systems, methods and processes/processing (EFSMP) or an integrated Matrix encompasses stand-alone and/or interconnected modules for completely self-sustained, closed-loop, emission-free processing of multiple source feedstock that can include pretreatment, with poisoning materials isolated during pretreatment being further recycled to provide useful materials such as, for example, separated metals, carbon and fullerenes for production of nano materials, sulfur, water, sulfuric acid, gas, heat and carbon dioxide for energy production, and production of refined petroleum, at a highly-reduced cost over the best state-of-the-art refining methods/systems that meets new emissions standards as well as optimizes production output with new ultra-speed cycle times. By-products from the petroleum refining process which were previously discarded also now are recycled as renewable sources of energy (water, waste oil and rubber/coal derived pyrolyic (pyrolysis) oil, carbon gases and process gases), or recyclable resources, such as metals and precious metals, oxides, minerals, etc., can be obtained.

SECURING PERSONAL INFORMATION

A database containing personal information of a user can be selectively read from and written to by multiple entities. Access level rules determine who gets access to which entries of a user record in the database. Access to some entries and actions taken on some entries may be possible only by producing, in real time, a smartcard-based authorization for such access or actions.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TISSUE SEALING

An electrosurgical generator is disclosed. The generator includes an RF output stage configured to supply electrosurgical energy to tissue via at least one active electrode configured to apply electrosurgical energy to tissue; sensing circuitry configured to measure impedance of tissue; and a controller. The controller is configured to determine whether a tissue reaction has occurred as a function of a minimum impedance value and a predetermined rise in impedance, wherein tissue reaction corresponds to a boiling point of tissue fluid; generate a target impedance trajectory as a function of measured impedance and desired rate of change based on the tissue reaction determination, wherein the target impedance trajectory includes a plurality of target impedance values; and drive tissue impedance along the target impedance trajectory by adjusting the output level of the electrosurgical generator to substantially match tissue impedance to a corresponding target impedance value for at least a predetermined minimum time period.
