Automatically adjustable treadmill control system

Systems and methods are described for automatically adjusting the speed of a treadmill system. The system periodically receives outputs from the range sensor indicative of the position of a user on the treadmill belt. The system calculates an average location when a defined number of outputs have been received, identifies a “zone” corresponding to the average location, and determines a speed adjustment based on the identified zone. After waiting for a defined delay period after receiving the first output of the range sensor, the speed adjustment command is used to adjust the speed of the treadmill motor. The delay period may be defined by the amount of time necessary to receive the defined number of outputs from the range sensor.

Surgical generator systems and related methods

Surgical generator systems and related methods are disclosed herein. An exemplary generator system can include one or more auxiliary transformer stages to boost the amount of power applied to low-impedance tissue, or to adjust the output voltage and current delivered to a surgical instrument. The auxiliary transformer stage(s) can be disposed in the generator, in the surgical instrument, and/or in an intermediate component. Exemplary generator systems can also include an accessory box disposed inline between a generator and a surgical instrument to provide expanded functionality to the system. The accessory box can have a ground plane that is isolated from the ground planes of the mains supply, the generator, and/or the surgical instrument to reduce or eliminate patient leakage current.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DECENTRALIZED TITLE RECORDATION AND AUTHENTICATION

A decentralized property system and method allow ownership rights to be transferred directly from one party to another without requiring a central authority to operate or secure the system. Digital signatures provide a method to issue and transfer titles (“bitmarks”) within the system. Using a blockchain algorithm, distributed consensus on asset ownership can be achieved.

Facial expression based avatar rendering in video animation and method

Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with creating an avatar video are disclosed herein. In embodiments, the apparatus may one or more facial expression engines, an animation-rendering engine, and a video generator. The one or more facial expression engines may be configured to receive video, voice and/or text inputs, and, in response, generate a plurality of animation messages having facial expression parameters that depict facial expressions for a plurality of avatars based at least in part on the video, voice and/or text inputs received. The animation-rendering engine may be configured to receive the one or more animation messages, and drive a plurality of avatar models, to animate and render the plurality of avatars with the facial expression depicted. The video generator may be configured to capture the animation and rendering of the plurality of avatars, to generate a video. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Oximeter probe off indicator defining probe off space

An embodiment of the present disclosure seeks to select characteristics of incoming intensity data that cause comparisons of selected characteristics to produce defined probe off space having reduced crossover with defined probe on space. Once defined, the present disclosure compares characteristics of incoming intensity data with the now defined probe off space, and in some embodiments, defined probe on space, to determine whether a probe off condition exists. When a processor determines a probe off condition exists, the processor may output or trigger an output signal that audibly and/or visually indicates to a user that the optical sensor should be adjusted for a proper application to a measurement site.

Surgical system with configurable rail-mounted mechanical arms

A robotic surgical system comprises a horizontal platform to support a patient, a rail positioned about the horizontal platform, a carriage operatively coupled to and configured to translate along the rail, and a robotic arm operatively coupled to the carriage and translated about the patient by the rail. The robotic arm is configured to operate on the patient in a variety of positions provided by the translating carriage. The rail provides a rounded path for the carriage, such as a U-shaped path. The U-shaped path may comprise a first leg and a second leg, the first leg longer than the second leg. Furthermore, the system may comprise a plurality of carriages operatively coupled to the rail and a plurality of robotic arms. Also, the system may further comprise a central base which the horizontal platform can articulate relative to, such as by translating horizontally or vertically, rotating, or titling.

IN-VEHICLE AUTHORIZATION FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

Technologies for authorizing a passenger of an autonomous vehicle include determining a passenger authorization policy based on a request for a taxi service and determining whether a passenger is authorized for the taxi service based on the passenger authorization policy. The passenger authorization policy may include a set of rules for authorizing a passenger based on the request for the taxi service and/or a global authorization policy. For example, the passenger may be authorized based on the identity of the passenger, the number of passengers, the age of the passenger, an authentication token, and/or other methodologies. The passenger authorization policy may be generated by the autonomous vehicle in response to the request for a taxi service or received from a passenger authorization management server as part of the request for the taxi service.
