Surgical stapling device with rotary driven firing member

A rotary drive arrangement for a surgical instrument that includes a surgical end effector. In one form, the rotary drive arrangement includes a drive shaft assembly that is selectively axially movable between a first position and a second position. A rotary transmission operably interfaces with the drive shaft assembly such that when the drive shaft assembly is in the first axial position, application of one of the rotary drive motions to the drive shaft assembly causes the rotary transmission to apply a first rotary control motion to the surgical end effector and when the drive shaft assembly is in the second axial position, application of the rotary drive motion to the drive shaft assembly causes the rotary transmission to apply a second rotary control motion to the surgical end effector.

Extreme ultra-violet sensitivity reduction using shrink and growth method

Provided is a method for patterning a substrate, comprising: forming a layer of radiation-sensitive material on a substrate; preparing a pattern in the layer of radiation-sensitive material using a lithographic process, the pattern being characterized by material structures having a critical dimension (CD) and a roughness; following the preparing the pattern, performing a shrink process to reduce the CD to a reduced CD; and performing a growth process to grow the reduced CD to a target CD. Roughness includes a line edge roughness (LER), a line width roughness (LWR), or both LER and LWR. Performing the shrink process comprises: coating the pattern with a hard mask, the coating generating a hard mask coated resist; baking the hard mask coated resist in a temperature range for a time period, the baking generating a baked coated resist; and developing the baked coated resist in deionized water.

System and method for streaming content from multiple servers

A system and a method for media streaming from multiple sources are disclosed. A content requesting client device accesses a server to receive a list of available sources that may include multiple Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and independent servers. Based on a pre-set criteria, such as the source delivery performance and cost, the client device partitions the content into parts, allocates a source to each part, and simultaneously receives media streams of the content parts from the allocated sources. The server may be a Video-on-Demand (VOD) server, and the content may be a single file of a video data, such as a movie. The delivery performance of the used sources is measured during the streaming for updating the partition or the allocation. The updated measured performance may be stored locally at the client device, or at a server for use by other clients. The client actions may be implemented as a client-side script.

Plasma assisted atomic layer deposition of multi-layer films for patterning applications

Methods and apparatus for depositing nanolaminate films are provided. In various embodiments, the nanolaminate film may be deposited over a core layer, which may be patterned. The nanolaminate film may act as a spacer while performing a double or quadruple patterning process. The nanolaminate film may include at least two different types of film. In some cases, the two different types of film have different compositions. In some cases, the two different types of film may be deposited under different deposition conditions, and may or may not have the same composition. After the nanolaminate film is deposited, the substrate may be etched to expose the core layer. Some portions of the nanolaminate film (e.g., portions that form on sidewalls of features patterned in the core layer) may remain after etching, and may serve as a mask during later processing steps in a double or quadruple patterning process.

Silicon carbide semiconductor device

A silicon carbide semiconductor device capable of achieving a decrease in ON resistance and an increase in breakdown voltage and a method for manufacturing a silicon carbide semiconductor device. A silicon carbide semiconductor device includes a silicon carbide substrate and a drift layer. The drift layer includes a breakdown voltage holding layer extending from a point where a doping concentration has a predetermined value to a surface of the drift layer. The doping concentration in the breakdown voltage holding layer continuously decreases from the point where the doping concentration has the predetermined value to a modulation point located further toward the surface of the drift layer than a midpoint in a film thickness direction of the breakdown voltage holding layer. The doping concentration in the breakdown voltage holding layer continuously increases from the modulation point to the surface of the drift layer.

Swivel bed for a surgical robotics system

A surgical robotics system with robotic arms is configurable to perform a variety of surgical procedures. The system includes a table, column, base, and robotic arms that are either column-mounted, rail-mounted, or mounted on a separate unit. In a column-mounted configuration, the column includes column rings that translate vertically and rotate about the column. The robotic arms are attached to the column rings. In a rail-mounted configuration, the base includes base rails that translate along the base. The robotic arms are attached to the base rails. In both, the robotic arms move independently from each other and include multiple arm segments. Each arm segment provides an additional degree of freedom to the robotic arm. Thus, the system may position the robotic arms into numerous configurations to access different parts of a patient's body. The surgical bed may include a swivel segment that rotates laterally on the plane of the bed.
