POLARITY OF HALL MAGNET TO DETECT MISLOADED CARTRIDGE

A surgical stapling system including a shaft assembly transmits actuation motions from an actuator and an end effector compresses and staples tissue. The end effector comprises an channel; an anvil having a staple forming surface is moveable relative to the channel between open and closed positions; the anvil having a magnet at the distal end; and a staple cartridge removably positionable within the channel. The staple cartridge comprises a body supported for a confronting relationship with the anvil in its closed position; a plurality of staple drivers located within the cartridge body support a staple; a Hall effect sensor located at the distal end of the body; and a microprocessor in communication with the Hall effect sensor. The Hall effect sensor and microprocessor receive power when the staple cartridge is positioned within the channel, and the system is operable to identify the staple cartridge.

Medical monitoring device for harmonizing physiological measurements

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and medical devices for harmonizing data from a plurality of non-invasive sensors are described. A physiological parameter can be determined by harmonizing data between two or more different types of non-invasive physiological sensors interrogating the same or proximate measurement sites. Data from one or more first non-invasive sensors can be utilized to identify one or more variables that are useful in one or more calculations associated with data from one or more second non-invasive sensors. Data from one or more first non-invasive sensors can be utilized to calibrate one or more second non-invasive sensors. Non-invasive sensors can include, but are not limited to, an optical coherence tomography (OCT) sensor, a bio-impedance sensor, a tissue dielectric constant sensor, a plethysmograph sensor, or a Raman spectrometer.

System for electronic control unit wake-up on movement of a controlled member and protection from motor back electromotive force

A system for waking an electronic control unit upon movement of a controlled member, such as a vehicle lift gate or window, and protecting the electronic control unit from motor back EMF are provided. The system includes a power drive unit coupled to the controlled member and to the electronic control unit for moving the controlled member. A comparator subsystem is coupled to the power drive unit and is configured to compare an electrical output of the power drive unit generated due to motor back electromotive force in response to a manual movement of the controlled member to an electrical reference to determine whether to wake the electronic control unit. The system detects manual movement of the controlled member, e.g. from unauthorized entry, and causes an alarm and/or for the motor to brake or to drive to counteract the manual movement of the controlled member.

Systems for generating an auditable digital certificate

The systems described herein are configured to generate an auditable digital certificate upon receiving a request for user information associated with a user of the plurality of users and determining that authorization from the user is required The digital certificate comprises: a unique identifier associated with the requester, a context of the request, and a date and time associated with the request. The system then sends an authorization request that includes: a request for consent to grant the request from the requester, and a request for identity verification evidence. Upon receiving the consent and identity verification evidence, the system adds to the digital certificate: a unique identifier associated with the user, the consent, and a date and time associated with receipt of the consent. Finally, the system closes and tamperproofs the digital certificate before storing the digital certificate in a certificate database.
