RELEASABLE LAYER OF MATERIAL AND SURGICAL END EFFECTOR HAVING THE SAME
An end effector assembly for use with a surgical instrument. The end effector assembly can include a fastener cartridge, a plurality of fasteners, a first connector, a second connector, and a layer of material releasably secured to the fastener cartridge by the first connector and by the second connector. The layer of material can have a mount that extends into a slot or notch in the fastener cartridge between the first connector and the second connector when the layer of material is secured to the fastener cartridge. The layer of material can be a buttress material and/or a tissue thickness compensator. Further, the layer of material can have a reinforcement feature and/or a scalloped edge around at least a portion of the perimeter thereof.

Surgical instrument assembly comprising a flexible articulation system
A surgical instrument can include a shaft, an end effector, and an articulation joint configured to permit the end effector to rotate relative to the shaft about the articulation joint. The surgical instrument can further comprise a first articulation actuator for rotating the end effector in a first direction and a second articulation actuator for rotating the end effector in a second direction. The articulation actuators can be configured to push the end effector. The articulation actuators can assume different configurations depending on whether they are experiencing a compressive load or a tensile load. The articulation joint can comprise an articulation frame which forms a proximal joint with the shaft and a distal joint with the end effector. The joints can comprise fixed axis joints and/or ball-and-socket joints, for example. The articulation joint can comprise links having different sizes to facilitate the articulation of the articulation joint.

Redox-activated pro-chelators
Compositions of pro-chelator compounds are described herein. The pro-chelators may be activated in reducing conditions, such as in the intracellular space, so as to sequester metals such as iron. The pro-chelators may be used to target malignant cells or in the treatment in a condition associated with metal ion disregulation.

Proxying hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) requests for microservices
In various embodiments, a gateway application generates an outgoing Hypertext Transmission Protocol (HTTP) request based on an incoming HTTP request. In operation, the gateway application receives the incoming HTTP request and identifies an upstream service based on at least one of an HTTP method and a header included in the incoming HTTP request. Subsequently, the gateway application generates an outgoing HTTP request based on the upstream service and the incoming HTTP request. Finally, the gateway application issues the outgoing HTTP request. The outgoing HTTP request causes the upstream service to perform an action requested in the incoming HTTP request. Advantageously, the gateway application enables underlying upstream services to perform actions specified via incoming HTTP requests without directly exposing the upstream services to users.

Methods and systems for creating virtual and augmented reality
Configurations are disclosed for presenting virtual reality and augmented reality experiences to users. The system may comprise an image capturing device to capture one or more images, the one or more images corresponding to a field of the view of a user of a head-mounted augmented reality device, and a processor communicatively coupled to the image capturing device to extract a set of map points from the set of images, to identify a set of sparse points and a set of dense points from the extracted set of map points, and to perform a normalization on the set of map points.

Surgical system with training or assist functions
Systems, methods, and tangibly-implemented software instructions for supporting a teleoperated surgical system (TSS). A surgical input that includes monitored events of the TSS, is received. A current stage of the surgical procedure is autonomously determined based on the surgical input. A call for surgeon assistance may be detected, in response to which context-relevant assistance may be provided to a surgeon console of the TSS, the context-relevant assistance being stage-synchronized with the surgical procedure.

Apparatus for dispensing a vapor phase reactant to a reaction chamber and related methods
An apparatus for dispensing a vapor phase reactant to a reaction chamber is disclosed. The apparatus may include: a first chamber configured for holding a source chemical with a first fill level; and a second chamber configured for holding the source chemical with a second fill level and in fluid communication with the first chamber via a fluid channel below the first and second fill levels. The apparatus may also include: a second chamber inlet opening in fluid communication with a pressurizing gas feed provided with a flow controller configured for controlling a flow of a pressurizing gas in the second chamber to control the first fill level in the first chamber. Methods for dispensing a vapor phase reactant are also provided.

Non-invasive blood pressure measurement system
A system for non-invasively determining an indication of an individual's blood pressure is described. In certain embodiments, the system calculates pulse wave transit time using two acoustic sensors. The system can include a first acoustic sensor configured to monitor heart sounds of the patient corresponding to ventricular systole and diastole and a second acoustic sensor configured to monitor arterial pulse sounds at an arterial location remote from the heart. The system can advantageously calculate a arterial pulse wave transit time (PWTT) that does not include the pre-ejection period time delay. In certain embodiments, the system further includes a processor that calculates the arterial PWTT obtained from the acoustic sensors. The system can use this arterial PWTT to determine whether to trigger an occlusive cuff measurement.

Physiological measurement device
A sensor interface is configured to receive a sensor signal. A transmitter generates a transmit signal. A receiver receives the signal corresponding to the transmit signal. Further, a monitor interface is configured to communicate a waveform to the monitor so that measurements derived by the monitor from the waveform are generally equivalent to measurements derivable from the sensor signal.
