Stapler cartridge with an integral knife
Stapler cartridges and surgical apparatus that include a stapler cartridge can include a knife that retracts into the stapler cartridge after cutting stapled tissue to prevent an operator being cut by the knife during replacement of the used stapler cartridge with a new stapler cartridge. A stapler cartridge includes a staple pushing shuttle, a knife member slidably coupled with the staple pushing shuttle, and a cartridge body. The staple pushing shuttle is slidably coupled to the cartridge body. The cartridge body includes a guide track engaged by the knife member and configured so that a cutting blade of the knife member protrudes from the cartridge body during a first portion of a distal movement of the staple pushing shuttle and the cutting blade is retracted into the cartridge body during a second portion of the distal movement of the staple pushing shuttle.

Supplying electrical energy to electrosurgical instruments
An end effector for a surgical tool includes a distal clevis, first and second jaws rotatably mounted to the distal clevis at a first axle, and a proximal clevis rotatably coupled to the distal clevis at a second axle. An electrical conductor extends through the proximal clevis and terminates at the distal clevis to supply electrical energy to one or both of the first and second jaws.

Reactor, system including the reactor, and methods of manufacturing and using same
A reactor for processing substrates and methods for manufacturing and using the reactor are disclosed. Specifically, the reactor can include a material that forms gas compounds. The gas compounds are then easily removed from the reactor, thus reducing or avoiding contamination of the substrates in the reactor that would otherwise arise.

Teleoperated surgical system with patient health records based instrument control
A method is provided for intra-surgical use of a surgical patient health record in a teleoperated surgical system that includes a surgical instrument and a surgical instrument actuator, comprising: receiving user input commands to control movement of a robotic surgical instrument; tracking robotic surgical instrument actuator state in response to the user input commands; and transitioning robotic surgical instrument actuator state to a safety mode in response to the robotic surgical instrument transitioning to a prescribed actuator state.

Home graph
Example techniques involve a control hierarchy for a “smart” home having smart appliances and related devices, such as wireless illumination devices, home-automation devices (e.g., thermostats, door locks, etc.), and audio playback devices, among others. An example home includes various rooms in which smart devices might be located. Under the example control hierarchy described herein and referred to as “home graph,” a name of a room (e.g., “Kitchen”) may represent a smart device (or smart devices) within that room. In other words, from the perspective of a user, the smart devices within a room are that room. This hierarchy permits a user to refer to a smart device within a given room by way of the name of the room when controlling smart devices within the home using a voice user interface (VUI) or graphical user interface (GUI).

Graphical representation of an information management system
Systems and methods are described herein for graphically representing an information management system based on the characteristics of within the system. The systems and methods interface with various components of the system (e.g., administrative components, index components, and so on) to identify data having certain characteristics (e.g., personal data), and generate or render information (e.g., a heat map or other visual display) that represents areas or locations within the system storing the data. Thus, the systems and methods, in some embodiments, generate or create a data-specific view into the information management system.

System for validating and appending incident-related data records in an inter-agency distributed electronic ledger
A computer apparatus, such as a validator node, for validating data records in a distributed electronic ledger may be configured to receive a proposed data record submitted by an originating agent of an originating agency to a distributed ledger. In response to the proposed incident-related data record, other agents within the originating agency may, based on validation criteria, submit one or more responsive data records that may provide information for use in determining a validity of the proposed incident-related data record. Validator nodes hosted by external agencies may submit validation responses relative to a validity of the proposed incident-related data record. The system may determine that the proposed data record is valid. Based a consensus algorithm, the system may responsively append the proposed data record or an indication of validity to the distributed ledger or to a different distributed ledger.

Determining drivable free-space for autonomous vehicles
In various examples, sensor data may be received that represents a field of view of a sensor of a vehicle located in a physical environment. The sensor data may be applied to a machine learning model that computes both a set of boundary points that correspond to a boundary dividing drivable free-space from non-drivable space in the physical environment and class labels for boundary points of the set of boundary points that correspond to the boundary. Locations within the physical environment may be determined from the set of boundary points represented by the sensor data, and the vehicle may be controlled through the physical environment within the drivable free-space using the locations and the class labels.

HARDWARE ACCELERATED NEURAL NETWORK SUBGRAPHS
Technology related to hardware accelerated neural network subgraphs is disclosed. In one example of the disclosed technology, a method includes receiving source code specifying a neural network model. The source code includes an application programming interface (API) marking a subgraph of the neural network model as targeted for hardware acceleration. The method includes compiling the subgraph to the neural network accelerator target to generate configuration information for the hardware accelerator. The method includes configuring the hardware accelerator to evaluate the neural network model, where the hardware accelerator is configured using the configuration information.
