Surgical instrument including dedicated firing and retraction assemblies

A surgical instrument comprising a housing, an elongate shaft, an end effector for performing a surgical operation, a firing drive, an advancement assembly, and a retraction assembly is disclosed. The end effector operably supports a firing member that is movable from a proximal position to a fired position during a firing stroke in response to a longitudinal firing motion applied thereto. The firing drive is configured to transmit the longitudinal firing motion to the firing member upon actuation of a firing control actuator. The advancement assembly is supported by the housing and configured to transmit a rotary motion which is exclusively dedicated to the advancement of the firing member through the firing stroke. The retraction assembly is configured for manual rotary actuation about a longitudinal retraction axis. The retraction assembly is exclusively dedicated to the retraction of the firing member from the fired position to the proximal position.

Methods for forming a metal silicate film on a substrate in a reaction chamber and related semiconductor device structures

Methods for forming a metal silicate film on a substrate in a reaction chamber by a cyclical deposition process are provided. The methods may include: regulating the temperature of a hydrogen peroxide precursor below a temperature of 70° C. prior to introduction into the reaction chamber, and depositing the metal silicate film on the substrate by performing at least one unit deposition cycle of a cyclical deposition process. Semiconductor device structures including a metal silicate film formed by the methods of the disclosure are also provided.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WIRELESS DEVICE DETECTION, RECOGNITION AND VISIT PROFILING

Described are various embodiments of a system and method in which device-identifying data can be used to uniquely recognize and optionally track and report on device activity at one or more hotspot and/or Wi-Fi locations by way of the creation and management of a device and/or visit profile uniquely associated with such devices and stored in a network accessible knowledge base.

Systems, apparatuses and methods for secure wireless pairing between two devices using embedded out-of-band (OOB) key generation

Devices, systems and methods are provided to implement key generation for secure pairing between first and second devices using embedded out-of-band (OOB) key generation and without requiring the devices to have input/output (IO) capability to enter authentication information. Bluetooth Smart or Low Energy (BLE) OOB pairing option can be used for pairing medical devices with added security of OOB key generation. The OOB key generation comprises providing first and second devices with the same predefined credential and secure hashing algorithm, and making input of the hashing algorithm of the first and second devices the same. The first device transmits unique data to second device (e.g., via BLE advertising) to share and compute a similar input. The first and second devices use the credential and shared data with the hashing function to generate a key that is the same at each of first and second devices.

Systems and methods for proxying encrypted traffic to protect origin servers from internet threats

This document describes, among other things, systems and methods for more efficiently resuming a client-to-origin TLS session through a proxy layer that fronts the origin in order to provide network security services. At the time of an initial TLS handshake with an unknown client, for example, the proxy can perform a set of security checks. If the client passes the checks, the proxy can transmit a ‘proxy token’ upstream to the origin. The origin can incorporate this token into session state data which is passed back to and stored on the client, e.g., using a TLS session ticket extension field, pre-shared key extension field, or other field. On TLS session resumption, when the client sends the session state data, the proxy can recover its proxy token from the session state data, and upon successful validation, bypass security checks that it would otherwise perform against the client, thereby more efficiently handling known clients.

RULE BASED FAILURE ADDRESSING

Example implementations relate to rule based failure addressing. A computing device may comprise a processing resource and a memory resource storing non-transitory machine-readable instructions to cause the processing resource to receive an error code corresponding to a failure during an execution of a software application, determine, based on a keyword included in the error code, a rule from a configuration file to execute to address the failure, and execute the rule to address the failure to cause execution of the software application.

METHOD FOR ALLOCATING BANDWIDTH IN AN INCIDENT AREA FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

A method and public safety server provide for the allocation of bandwidth in an incident area for first responders. Incident scene information is collected. A number of responder alerts is predicted based at least in part upon the incident scene information. A current loading is calculated at a site covering the incident scene. It is then determined if the site lacks enough bandwidth to provide service to the number of responder alerts. Bandwidth is then allocated at the site to provide service to the number of responder alerts.

SECURITY EVENT DETECTION AND THREAT ASSESSMENT

An indication of a detected security event is received. One or more sensors are selected based on the detected security event. The selected sensors are used to detect additional information associated with a protected airspace associated with the detected security event. A risk level assessment associated with the detected security event is determined based at least in part on the additional information detected using the selected sensors. A response is automatically invoked based on the determined risk level assessment.
