Surgical system including lateral supports for a flexible drive member
A surgical instrument that includes an elongate channel that is configured to operably support a surgical staple cartridge therein. In at least one form, an anvil is pivotally coupled to a proximal end of the elongate channel such that the anvil is pivotal about a discrete, non-movable anvil axis defined by the elongate channel. A firing member is configured for axial travel within the elongate channel in response to an application of firing motions thereto. The firing member is configured to movably engage the anvil and the elongate channel to space the anvil relative to the elongate channel at a desired spacing as the firing member is axially driven through the elongate channel. A closure member is configured to move the anvil from an open position to closed positions relative to the elongate channel upon application of closure motions to the closure member.

Motorized surgical instrument with an end effector
A surgical stapling system comprising a shaft, an end effector, an unspent staple cartridge including staples, an articulation joint, a drive system, a control system, a drive member, a locking system, and a rotatable member is disclosed. The end effector comprises a first iaw and a second iaw movable relative to the first iaw. The drive system is configured to generate a low actuation rate rotary motion during a first operating mode and a high actuation rate rotary motion during a second operating mode. The control system comprises a user interface configured to allow a user to selectively switch between the first and second operating modes. The locking system prevents the advancement of the drive member if the unspent staple cartridge is not correctly seated in the end effector. The rotatable member is operably coupled with the drive system and is in operable engagement with the drive member.

Charging station for physiological monitoring device
A charging station for providing power to a physiological monitoring device can include a charging bay and a tray. The charging bay can include a charging port configured to receive power from a power source. The tray can be positioned within and movably mounted relative to the charging bay. The tray can be further configured to secure the physiological monitoring device and move between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the tray can be spaced away from the charging port, and, in the second position, the tray can be positioned proximate the charging port, thereby allowing the physiological monitoring device to electrically connect to the charging port.

Method for forming silicon nitride film selectively on top/bottom portions
A method for fabricating a layer structure in a trench includes: simultaneously forming a dielectric film containing a Si—N bond on an upper surface, and a bottom surface and sidewalls of the trench, wherein a top/bottom portion of the film formed on the upper surface and the bottom surface and a sidewall portion of the film formed on the sidewalls are given different chemical resistance properties by bombardment of a plasma excited by applying voltage between two electrodes between which the substrate is place in parallel to the two electrodes; and substantially removing the sidewall portion of the film by wet etching which removes the sidewall portion of the film more predominantly than the top/bottom portion according to the different chemical resistance properties.
