Articulatable surgical instrument comprising a firing drive

A surgical instrument can comprise a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and an end effector rotatably coupled to the shaft by an articulation joint. The surgical instrument can further include a staple cartridge positioned within the end effector and a firing drive operably coupled with a trigger wherein the operation of the trigger can advance and/or retract a firing member of the firing drive relative to the end effector. The surgical instrument can further comprise an articulation drive which is selectively engageable with the firing drive. When the articulation drive is engaged with the firing drive, the operation of the firing drive can operate the articulation drive and articulate the end effector. When the articulation drive is not engaged with the firing drive, the firing drive can be operated independently of the articulation drive.

Fastener cartridge assembly comprising a movable cartridge and a staple driver arrangement

A staple cartridge for use with a stapling end effector selectively oriented between an open position and a closed position is disclosed. The stapling end effector comprises an anvil. The staple cartridge comprises a cartridge body, a first staple, a second staple, a first staple driver, and a second staple driver. The first staple driver comprises a first staple support portion configured to support the first staple. A first staple forming distance is defined between the anvil and the first staple support portion when the end effector is in the closed position. The second staple driver comprises a second staple support portion configured to support the second staple. A second staple forming distance is defined between the anvil and the second staple support portion when the end effector is in the closed position. The first staple forming distance and the second staple forming distance are different.

Passive determination of pairing and channel parameters for short-range wireless communications

Systems and methods can support identifying pairings and channel parameters in short-range wireless communications such as bluetooth low energy interfaces. Radio frequency sensors may be positioned within an electromagnetic environment where a master wireless device and a slave wireless device share short-range wireless communications. Signals transmitted between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device can be received by the radio frequency sensors. Inter-arrival times for packets within the received signals may be identified. Statistics of the inter-arrival times can be analyzed to identify connection intervals between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device as well as back-to-back interval exchanged within the connection intervals. Packet header contents may be used to reconcile the estimated timing parameters and time slots. Pairings between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device may be identified and tracked along with communication channel parameters.
