Device energy use determination
A device that runs on solar and battery power determines a current cycle energy budget by looking at a previous cycle or cycles energy accumulation and previous cycle or cycles unexpected expenses. The energy budget will then be the energy accumulation minus the unexpected expenses, normalized for cycle length. Based on the energy budget, an operating mode is chosen. The operating mode determines how often certain actions are taken. The device then runs for a cycle length based of the operating mode.

Detecting threats to datacenter based on analysis of anomalous events
Some embodiments provide a method for detecting a threat to a datacenter. The method receives a set of connections between a set of DCNs in the datacenter over a particular time period. The set of DCNs includes at least a first DCN at which a first anomalous event was detected. The method analyzes a set of detected anomalous events to identify additional anomalous events detected at other DCNs in the set of DCNs during the particular time period. Based on the first anomalous event and identified additional anomalous events, the method determines whether the anomalous events indicate a threat to the datacenter.

Methods for adjusting and/or controlling immersion associated with user interfaces
In some embodiments, an electronic device emphasizes and/or deemphasizes user interfaces based on the gaze of a user. In some embodiments, an electronic device defines levels of immersion for different user interfaces independently of one another. In some embodiments, an electronic device resumes display of a user interface at a previously-displayed level of immersion after (e.g., temporarily) reducing the level of immersion associated with the user interface. In some embodiments, an electronic device allows objects, people, and/or portions of an environment to be visible through a user interface displayed by the electronic device. In some embodiments, an electronic device reduces the level of immersion associated with a user interface based on characteristics of the electronic device and/or physical environment of the electronic device.

IDENTIFYING ELECTRONIC DEVICES USING TEMPORALLY CHANGING INFORMATION
Described are systems and methods to verify the identity of an evaluated device that has been previously identified and evaluated remotely from a reader device. The reader device obtains from an evaluated device temporally changing information, where the temporally changing information includes a unique identifier associated with the evaluated device and a proximity indication. The reader device verifies the temporally changing information by verifying that the unique identifier is contained in the temporally changing information, that the unique identifier is stored in a database associated with the reader device, and that the temporally changing information includes the proximity indication indicating that the evaluated device and the reader device are proximate to each other. Upon verifying the temporally changing information, the reader device obtains the price of the evaluated device, based on the unique identifier associated with the evaluated device. Upon obtaining the price of the evaluated device, the system compensates a user associated with the evaluated device.

GESTURE CONTROL SYSTEMS WITH LOGICAL STATES
Systems and methods for gesture-based control are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system may include a wearable device configured to obtain physiological data and wrist location data. The system may be configured to detect a first gesture and transition to an object control state in which changes in the wrist location data and/or the physiological data are configured to control a movement of the object. In the object control state, the system may be configured to detect a first motion of a body part, generate a first command to move the object in a first command direction, detect a second motion of the body part, and generate a command to move the object in a second command direction. The system may detect a second gesture indicating an intention to cease control of the object, and transition out of the object control state.

Iliac pin and adapter
Apparatus for mounting in a bone of a patient, consisting of a rigid elongated member having an axis of symmetry and a distal section, a proximal section, and an intermediate section connecting the distal and proximal sections. The apparatus has n helical blades, formed in the distal section, distributed symmetrically about the axis, each of the blades having a helix angle greater than zero and less than 45°. A cross-section of the distal section, taken orthogonally to the axis of symmetry, includes n mirror planes containing the axis of symmetry, wherein n is a whole number greater than one, and wherein the blades are configured to penetrate into the bone and engage stably therein. Adapters coupling the apparatus to different types of markers are also described.

CONDITION-BASED ACTIVATION OF A USER INTERFACE
The present disclosure relates to techniques for accessing modes of operation and techniques for providing an alarm interface for electronic devices. In some embodiments, a device detects that a battery is being charged and that the device is oriented in a predefined orientation. In accordance with the detection that the battery is being charged and that the device is oriented in the predefined orientation, the device activates a predefined mode of operation. In some embodiments, a device displays a first user interface object in a first color, and, at a predetermined time, the device displays the first user interface object in a second color and displays an option for dismissing an alarm, wherein the option for dismissing is displayed as a second user interface object located at a portion of a display of the device proximate to a hardware button of the device.

Converting pump messages in new pump protocol to standardized dataset messages
Various techniques for facilitating communication with and across a clinical environment and a cloud environment are described. For example, a method for converting infusion pump messages having one format into standardized dataset messages having another format is described. When a connectivity adapter in the clinical environment detects a new pump protocol, the connectivity adapter may generate a message converter that can convert pump messages into standardized dataset messages. The message converter can be used to convert pump messages into standardized dataset messages. The standardized dataset messages may include information additional data or metadata not included in the pump messages.
