The present invention relates to a cushion pad for relief of pressure on the spine, especially for reducing pressure to sacrum.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONA common problem for those who sit for a long period of time is lower back pain which is caused by the pressure applied to the nerves around the lumbar vertebrace or even the deformation of the disk of cartilage. In order to reduce the pressure applied to the part of the spine, most of the people put a pad as shown FIG. 5 on the seat portion of chairs so as to provide a cushion feature. However, after a short period of time of use, the cushion feature disappears because the cotton or foam in the pad becomes a solid block which has no flexibility at all. The traditional way to release the pressure applied to the spine obviously is not satisfied.
The present invention intends to provide a cushion pad that includes a slot which is located corresponding to the position where the sacrum of the user so that the spine bears less reaction force from the chair and spine is protected.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention relates to a cushion pad made of flexible material such as sponge, foam, resilient fibers or resilient rubber and includes a slot defined therethrough. An inclined surface is defined in a front portion of a top of the cushion body. The slot is located corresponding to the user's spine.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTReferring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the cushion pad βAβ of the present invention comprises a cushion body 1 made of flexible material such as sponge, foam, resilient fibers, or resilient rubber, and has a slot 11 defined therethrough. An inclined surface 12 is defined in a front portion of a top of the cushion body 1. The inclined surface 12 extends to the front edge of the cushion body 1. A cover 2 is coated on the cushion body 1 and is made of air-permeable material.
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the cushion pad βAβ is put on the seat portion of a chair βBβ and the user sits on the cushion pad βAβ with thighs contacting the inclined surface 12 of the cushion pad βAβ and the spine of the user is rested in the slot 11. The inclined surface 12 provides the user a comfortable status when sitting on the cushion pad βAβ. The sacrum of the user's spine does not contact the cushion pad nor the seat portion of the chair βBβ so that no reaction force is applied to the spine. The slot 11 is a longitudinal slot and extends toward the front edge of the cushion pad βAβ so that the user is allowed to adjust the position when sitting on the cushion pad βAβ while the sacrum is located corresponding to the slot 11.
While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
1. A cushion pad comprising:
a cushion body made of flexible material and having a slot defined therethrough, an inclined surface defined in a front portion of a top of the cushion body.
2. The cushion pad as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cushion body is made of sponge, foam, resilient fibers, or resilient rubber.
3. The cushion pad as claimed in claim 1, wherein a cover is coated on the cushion body.
4. The cushion pad as claimed in claim 3, wherein the cover is made of air-permeable material.
5. The cushion pad as claimed in claim 1, wherein the slot is a longitudinal slot and extends toward the front portion of the cushion pad.
